Prayer Request Thread

Hey all.
No names and a good friend and a man I consider a brother (he is a member here) asked me the other day to pray for his wife.

I have been, as have my family and friends from church.

Thanks all

Elija
I pray for your friends wife. Prayers are never a bad thing in difficult times.

Peace to those folks and you.

Guys,

I've been on the Hide for quite some time, and this is the first time I've reached out like this. A very close friend of mine is a Marine (L Company Iraq), has two young boys, and just found out his wife has colon cancer. If y'all know anyone that might want to pitch in, I know they'd appreciate it but would never ask for it. Please pray for them as well. It makes me sick to even type this out.

Thank you all very much.

Those of Faith, let us be together in prayer for the safety of our Supreme Court justices, for those protecting vulnerable sites, and our loved ones from any violence that many be caused from those seeking violence in answer to these recent decisions.

I could use some prayer for guidance.

I just sold my home, its closed, but havent bought anything else yet so technically Im homeless. First time in over 40 years I haven had a place bought and paid for. Ive go the bucks to buy another, but at this point I feel really untethered (not unbalanced, LOL), dont really know which way to go. Most of my life has been spent acquiring things, now at 72 Im doing the opposite, downsizing. I've also realized that things alone just dont provide much satisfaction. Must of my old friends have preceded me into the next world, no family to speak of.

Part of me says fill whats left with some sort of service, maybe with young people. Ive been through several hells in this life and feel I have a lot to give...but where, and how? I'm not stuck on that path, Im open to the will and guidance of the Holy /Spirit, but dont seem to be hearing clearly.

Prayers welcomed.

Wait on the Lord brother. Easier said than done I know, but always the best plan.

Keep praying, keep seeking His guidance, search you heart for anything that could hinder your prayers...

It's ALL a test, just keep on keeping on, walking the righteous path for His namesake, you'll get to where HE wants you to be.

Nice place to be in!
You could use this time to go around and check out Bible Believing Churches that study and teach, as well as actively soul win. Here are a few suggestions.
Treasure Valley Baptist Church Pastor Rick DeMichele in Meridian, ID or Bible Baptist Church Pastor Brian Donovan Pensacola, FL or how about First Bible Church Pastor Mike Veach Staten Island, NY. Good Luck moving forward!

Smoke and prayers.

I could use some as well. Im making a major career change in a week. I was shown an opportunity and felt I had to take it. It sucks and means I screwed any retirement/pension I had but I'm sure my choice was the right one.

All I can do is trust His plan for me.

I will pray for divine instructions to be given to you, but it's really you who needs to pray asking the Lord what direction he wants you to go. I do believe it's God's will that you have a place to lay your head. Buying a small house/condo or renting something needs to be your first priority. One doesn't need money to do the Lord's work. Find a church that has a good outreach ministry.

Prayers don't come in your timeframe, but in the Lord's.

God Bless.

I am not one to usually reach out, but there are a couple people that could use some. My son was involved in an accident last night. He is fine physically but mentally he is hurting. The operator of the other vehicle was taken to hospital in critical care. We have not heard an update on the operator of the other vehicle since leaving the hospital with our son last night. Please say one for the operator of the other vehicle, his family and my son. Thank you all.

A sincere thanks to all those who offered prayers and thoughts for my guidance this spring.

After a false start to the wrong area (for me) I heard a voice (no doubt The Father's, but it came in the sound of my earthly father's voice) that said "Stick to your plan." So I did.

Ended up in Lawton Ok. The town itself isnt much, would blow away without Ft. Sill, and at first I wondered if I'd made the right choice. Then I wandered up into the Wichita National Game Preserve, and ....HOME. Ive always preferred a dry climate and landing here my joints dont ache (as much), miles of trails and lots of little lakes. Bison roaming around, got to be careful driving.

Cost of living is less and I bought a home comparable to the one I sold in Virginia for about 35% and $$$ in the bank.

The one disappointing thing, and this isn not a put down, just an observation, is that the local folks seem to have about the worst health Ive encountered. Overwhelming obesity. My guess is that its largely largely due to the high native/Hispanic being poor and lack of good healthcare, and over all a lower education standard. You go to more educated areas like the one I left, Charlottesville, or Boulder, leftist enclaves ,and though theyre liberal ass wipes, they have education, healthcare, and are into keeping fit. Same with the military population, but better overall fitness.

Anyway, thanks again to all of you and the Almighty.

God is Love.

Maggot out.

Congrats. I'm looking for my perfect home. With the wife still working, it will be some time before we can seriously start looking.

Home is where your heart is and it looks like your heart is content.

Something I came to realize (more fully) while meditating up in the Wichita's, is that really, we have no home on/in this earth. Everything here is transitory. We're yet to inherit our true home, but it is nice to, as you put it in an earlier post, "To have a place to rest our heads." You'll find yours. (y)

Okay folks, I'm doing this in the opposite direction. I've had 3 procedures in the last 2 months. The last was just this morning. I had a PD catheter place in my stomach area. This is used for a different kind of dialysis. One that is done overnight while you sleep. It wasn't too bad, I was out of the hospital 6 hours after I arrived.

The first 2 procedures were a little more invasive. First, I had my right carotid artery opened up and scraped to remove plaque. I was released the next day at 5pm. The next procedure (3 weeks later) was my left carotid. This time they installed a stint and again had to stay the night.

I'd like to reset prayers thanking the Lord for seeing me through these procedures and thanks Him for providing the skills these doctors showed while providing me the Blessing of better health by their hands.

I'd also like to give thanks that He provided me with healing that could have been deadly. The right Carotid was block more than 90%. This could have easily killed me because of a stroke. The left Carotid was block more than 75% and although not as bad as the right could have also done damage if things were different.

I would have never known of these blockages if not for me losing my hearing due to Covid. Because of this, I was guided by God to seek possible answers to the hearing loss. I sought advice from my family doc. I asked to have an ultrasound of these arteries, and this led to a CAT scan which led me to find out how bad the really were. So, if I never contracted Covid, so that would have never lost my hearing in my left ear, I would have never been diagnosed with these blockages. I would have probably died within 6 months to a year. Not my words but my vascular doctor.

Praise be to God!

Amen and amen. Glad you made it,

And lighten up on that bacon, LOL.

Much of it is genetics. Both my mother and my sister had to have these types of carotid surgeries. But yes, I'm sure my diet over the last 61 years have taken a toll.

Good news, I've lost over 50 lbs in the last 2 years and I've dropped my A1C (Measurement of the last 6 months of diabetes values) from 8.2 to 6.9. 7.0 is considered the high side of normal.

Done. Prayers sent :)

Prayers sent for @BullGear. Apologies, late to the party. I was unaware until just now. Best wishes BullGear. (y)(y)(y)

Thank you, these operations went fine. I'm having another issue where I'm experiencing what I thought were heart pains. Cardiologist did an echo and a stress test and my heart is fine. Visit with him again tomorrow to see if he has any other ideas. I'm betting on it being gastro-intestinal, but I will let them decide. I also see my primary on Thursday to see what he thinks.

Life is fun when you're a BullGear!

This month has been a rough one for the shortbus household, but it is what it is. My wife had surgery on her ankle to repair a torn ligament and tendon, about a month ago. 2 weeks after her surgery I went in to the ER for what I presumed was either another bowell obstruction issue, or gallbladder issue as i've been having problems for the last 7 years with 'em. The next morning I was in surgery to remove a inflamed gallbladder that turned out to be gangrenous, and a simple surgery turned into a complicated one. I came out fine, antibiotics did their job, and i'm a reasonably fast healer i'm back in the go kart, and trying to get some work done after a week. My poor wife however, is on her way to the ER right now with her mother for a really disgusting infection that's forming on her ankle around the surgical site, and spreading. I think it's staph, based off my extensive google reasearch, and i'm just praying that we caught it early enough that it's treatable with a few rounds of antibiotics, and a very short hospital stay. I think a few prayers for her would go a long way, thank you guys.

When I speak to him today, I will ask if he is ok with his name being posted.

Prayers for you, your wife, and mother in-law.

Prayers for your family and Kitty.

Thank you. As it stands, she actually didn't have a heart attack, but her heart is out of rhythm (A Fib). She also has retained a lot of fluid and they are working on that first. Then they are going to shock her heart to try and stop the A Fib. She's a sick lady right now and prayers are still welcome.

They are going to have the transplant committee meet to look over my routine transplant re-evaluation. I was just there for a bunch of testing (both psychological and physical) and of course the clot shot came up. They denied my request for exemption due to updated medical information, and I knew they would. So I brought with me a letter I wrote (with the help of my lawyer) asking for exemption due to religious beliefs. That will also be reviewed by the committee. I was told that they have denied others, so don't look for a favorable outcome. At this point, my lawyer said I could ask the courts to strike down their requirement, but my lawyer said it's probably going to be a costly venture with a less than an ideal outcome.

So, I'm just waiting for the letter denying my request. I will then ask them how long I have to get the shot before they remove me from the list. I'm basically just biding my time, hoping that someone with a few active brain cells understands how important it is for a patient with a compromised immune system to never have to get the vaccine.

Man that sucks to hear but prayers for you fighting the good fight.

I would contact Alliance Defending Freedom see the link below. They are a law firm/legal organization that offers pro bono legal counsel for primarily religious freedom issues but I see your situation as something they may want to take on to establish legal precedent for thousands of others in the same situation as yourself being denied transplants for religious reasons aka not taking the clot shot.

They successfully represented Jack the Baker from Colorado (aka bake the cake bigot) at the US Supreme Court and from my understanding are still representing him today as he continues to be sued and attacked this time by a tranny from Denver.

Who knows maybe they will look at your situation and help you out?

It’s worth a call to find out. Good luck.

ADF is the world's largest legal organization committed to protecting religious freedom, free speech, the sanctity of life, parental rights, and God's design for marriage and family.

Thanks, I'll wait to see how the committee report is released, but I will call Alliance if this don't go my way.
