A bit long winded but spot on.

I once drove without plates. Some DMV dude in a surplus Crown Vic pulled up next to me in heavy traffic and started grilling me about why I didn’t have plates on the car. I asked him if he was a peace officer and who he worked for. He said DMV but didn’t say he was LEO so I rolled um my window and kept going.
