Ask
Is the double pull high enough to work in the seated position? And 9” collapsed seems a bit on the higher end for prone or does it go lower if you splay the legs out?

It does go lower...it goes plenty low. Seated is possible depending on your height and terrain. I'm 6 ft *could shoot seated on flat ground if hunched and target was not too high from horizontal. Not ideal at all seated.

Go Triple pull if you want to shoot seated. The double will go very low but keep in mind the footprint gets super wide when you splay the legs max open.

The double pull is typically the go-to middle ground for most shooters wanting a little more versatility for filed use, kneeling shots, low sitting shots and high angle work. The single pull is great for just about most PRS match formats, but the double and triple excel when things get weird and you need to build a position quickly.

I will say that I have shot quite a bit of both the double and triples, with the stability definitely declining the further you get from the ground. I typically have a double pull on hunting guns and carry a stable tripod if you have the time to build a solid seated or standing position :)

Feel free to ask if you need any more measurements or weights from me too!

I picked one of the double pulls up last black friday. Honestly didn't expect to love it. Thought I might like it in this or that situation but didn't think it would feel solid enough to like it regularly off a bench or prone. I believe in having a variety of different bipods and just swapping them from gun to gun situationally so I figured on adding the ckyepod for those situations. I was wrong. It feels super stable and is a lot more generally useful than I thought. I also love it's Pic / Arca dual attachment head. Really, my only complaint is the lack of rubber feet for it. Make some rubber feet already.

The double pull goes plenty low and is super stable in prone or bench work. In sitting position the legs need to be their closest together and therefore least stable. It's not bad though. Totally usable though I can imagine the tripple pull is probably better for this. Huge versatility though. I'm quite pleased. Probably my favorite bipod at the moment. May pick up a tripple this year. We will see. I should probably be buying a better tripod this year instead though. It's a more pressing need.
