I ended sending him an email after 14-15 months that read " hey scumbags, where the fuck is my barrel?"

Got a response saying he was canceling my order and he did send me a check for the full amount without any fees taken out.

Been waiting a year for mine. Talked to them a few months ago and he stopped me from cancelling and getting a refund by leading me to believe they'd get to it quickly. I'm about over it at this point.

We should all go to the better business bureau or something it’s just over and over with No Truth Nick

I can't even imagine being a smith in this day and age...if someone called me 20 times a month to cry about their contour and twist rate I would lose it.

Dude I'm never calling him again it was too the point if I didn't get my check I was heading to his shop if it cost me 15k it was the whole point of it I've got 10 custom guns and I will never recommend anyone do business there after I heard so many lies the check said minus credit card fees I didn't pay credit card.... he is like dealing with the government in my book.....I'm not the type to rant on businesses but it was so awful I don't want other good ppl to have to deal with it
Same here.
Total lying sob.

These guys are the worst to deal with. They promised my build in 8 weeks, waited over a 14 months and kept saying "action is in stock but no barrel". Later "We have the barrel but no action". They held my full payment as hostage and refused to give me back full payment for their lies and deceptions. Be cautious if ordering from them.

yeah then maybe dont post false lead times on your website and make excuses when you cant meet them.

I shot a prs match Saturday and a guy I shoot with was telling me he ordered 4 barrels for his rifle. Promised lead time was November of last year. He's still waiting on them and is flipping out because he doesn't have any barrels for this year. He is in the process of canceling his order which has been a fight. He does great work but his lead times are lies

I must have been one of the lucky ones. I inquired about lead times for an Sig Cross barrel and was told about 2-3 weeks as long as it was a heavy profile, as he was about to do a batch of them. Sent the order a couple days later and it was shipped out in 4 weeks. No complaints here. It’s shoots awesome.

Ultimately I think there's a benevolent intent to deliver on the promises that are made, but external factors adversely impact Nick's ability to deliver on the things that he wants to. This also doesn't take into account everything that's gone on in the past two to three years or so in terms of being able to maintain appropriate staffing levels coupled with an almost exponential rise in demand. No doubt, it sucks when you want something that's been promised to come in three to four months, but in comes much later. But I think having a candid conversation with him is really the route to success. I expect my barreled action to be delivered in the next day or two to my FFL for my Vision chassis, and I'm super excited, but much like others I was plagued by similar delays due to supply chain issues.

Either way, I know that the end product will be outstanding and I'm stoked to get the rifle on the range.

External factors? He straight up lies. Dont publish fake lead times and lie about action availability

This post was pure nonsense. He is telling u one thing and then doing the complete opposite. I ordered a barrel from krieger directly. 1 year wait time. 2 weeks ahead of that year it was ready. No games and no bullshit. G A precision said 2 months to chamber it. It took 2 months and 5 days. That is acceptable. Now if they said 2 months and a year later I'm still waiting and all the while I'm getting 3rd grade excuses on why I don't have the product I paid for I would be pissed. No other business takes your money and gives u a lead time then goes over that time by a year and then expects you to be ok with that

Man, I'm hoping mine gets here somewhat soon. Think I'm at 3 months now. Reading all these posts doesn't make me feel good. I already conceded with SJA to switch to a different barrel that was in stock there for my order to go into production sooner...guess we'll see.

this is where all the issues start, once they call you and say "there's a problem with the action" or "there's a problem with the barrel".
My friend got a MODBB barrel from a relatively unknown gunsmith in NC to print sub half minute within 2 months of ordering, and this is a snipers hide vendor doing this to people.

So if someone means we'll it's OK to deceive others. Probably a bear pit discussion, but you might want to think again about that concept.

Tbh there seems to be a pattern with SJA and not just a few loud troublemakers

Well I just received a email that my order….that I canceled and received a partial refund for…is complete. No telling what will happen next.

Had 2 bad experiences with Nick at SJA in a row. Was told I'd be getting a new barrel, dude never answered my calls or emails again. First rifle(full build) wouldn't feed for shit and barrel channel wasn't floated. Second was a barreled action, chamber looked like dogshit, freebore was tight to bullet, essentially no freebore, oh and he finished at 24.5" VS 26" when my blank was 28" because of a supposed bad spot in a bartlein(I call BS and suspect they fucked the barrel up). I'd rather wait a year for anyone else to cut a barrel for me than have SJA get me next day service.

Chad heckler at 5x5 precision had my buddy's barrel back to him in 2 weeks after he received. Chambered and cut crown and threads on muzzle. He swears by him

I'll pile on, I haven't taken proper pics, but got my Impact action and 20" 6.5 MTU contour barrel along with a Bix'n'Andy trigger from him two weeks ago. Loving it and going to be testing it out in the next week or two.
