Food riots thread…and energy.

Wow. Still 40-50 per large round bale here..
What kind? Grass, sorghum, ditch hay? Nor that it matters, any hay is good right about now. We are going at $120 here, but those are heavy coastal round bales. No protein tests available before you buy, so you get what you get. People are just buying what they can find. I turned part of my herd loose in my coastal fields after the last cut to clean up the corners to avoid putting out hay one more week.

Around here I am seeing large corn stalk bales going for $75. That's nuts.

My hay guy didn't even get one good cut this year. He was importing from other states and selling those for $150 a bale. I think he got stuck with a bunch of it because he told me it wasn't worth the trouble.

Went to the Hay sale two Tuesday's ago here in Kansas. A 1000lb Prairie Hay bail went for $150. They only had 2 of them. Just crazy. Thats as bad as 2011/12 when we were in a bad drought. I have ponds on my place that have been there for 50 yrs. First time this year they have ever been dry.

Hayden.

I'll just throw this out about "groceries".
My neighbor just got back from a trip to Switzerland. Stayed with family there, not a tourist.
We were talking about food cost in the local grocery stores.
I was told, in general food was cheaper in that area of Switzerland than in my area (PNW).
Propaganda has always told me America mass produced food at the lowest cost to consumers.
Maybe that is not true, IDK

Comments ?

Food in Japan / South Korea is fairly cheap. I’m there a few times a month for my job.

No more bargains, here's one reason why:

Fuckem. I just won't buy their crap. 40 years ago, generic goods made their big splash. Gone now, but house brands (Home Essentials, Aldi) rule. All the name brands are woke anyway. AMF.

The country is indeed low-lying and remarkably flat, with large expanses of lakes, rivers, and canals. Some 2,500 square miles (6,500 square km) of the Netherlands consist of reclaimed land, the result of a process of careful water management dating back to medieval times. Along the coasts, land was reclaimed from the sea, and, in the interior, lakes and marshes were drained, especially alongside the many rivers. All this new land was turned into polders, usually surrounded by dikes. Initially, man power and horsepower were used to drain the land, but they were later replaced by windmills, such as the mill network at Kinderdijk-Elshout, now a UNESCO World Heritage site. The largest water-control schemes were carried out in the second half of the 19th century and in the 20th century, when steam pumps and, later, electric or diesel pumps came into use.

So, with that said. After toiling hundreds of years to build farms, the "Government" wants to take over the farm land that they did nothing to reclaim.
No wonder the farmers are pissed.

I wonder how much of this is due to US layers of middlemen between product and grocery store shelves? How much of the cost goes to pay for the mega stores with Starbucks, florist, and so on.
If we could get the "Government" out of agriculture the quality would go up and the cost would go down.

I think the coffee shop, florist, ... are the high margin items, not the other way around.

When the worldwide society comes together and figure out they have been pushed to the point where they have nothing to lose... Then the game of Russian Roulette will get interesting.

Everyone will already be in their little box and be irrelevant.

Read the link above then specifically look at China, Canada, Australia and to a slightly lesser extent here.

Explains Europe’s situation and your link on the Netherlands.

Explains the Ukrainian war as well.

Kinda explains a lot.

I'm seeing the Chinese push back. Americans will push back when the "Bread and Circus" ends..
History tells many stories of past riots and the reason for them.

They want to downsize the population.

Those that pushback are on the first cattle car.

Riots might help them.

Less cattle cars are needed. Lol

And those Chinese rioters are already dead. It just hasn’t happened yet. Let’s see how many disappear in a month.

air drop 1 million ar15's with magazines for the population to fight back with...
won't happen; reason why totalitarian states hate the 2nd amendment.
same thing we should of done in Venezuela 4 years ago as well. Let the people have the means to create change.

As I see it there are 2 possible ways we avoid this.

1. They end up turning on each other. ( I’m not sure that ends up actually saving us. Our doom might just take a different form. )

2. Devine intervention. (This would probably require a global spiritual revival.) Being how churches are being burned and the campaign against religion over the last couple of year paired with Christians being being labeled radical far right…. Well, that doesn’t look too promising.

A friend of mine said something the other day about atonement and the Prophets praying for atonement for the sinfulness of their people. He compared that to praying for your individual forgiveness.

That got me thinking. I can sincerely pray for my forgiveness or atonement for loved ones or friends. But doing so for a nation full of evil set to destroy my way of life, I honestly don’t think I could sincerely pray for their atonement or forgiveness. If I do I’m uncertain how sincere it would actually be, I know it would not be heartfelt.

This is something I have been thinking on and definitely need to work on. It may be the only way. Either way, I feel that, we as Christians, should try to return to such ways.

With all that said we are entering times where, technology wise, things mentioned in Scripture could actually take place. If this is the start of such a thing or when it happens it will be unavoidable. The only thing we can pray for is to be guided through it.

I usually don’t share my spiritual beliefs here but there they are.

I can honestly say - this is the hardest command to keep. We are supposed to forgive and pray for our enemies. That can be a bugger.
And they know we believe this - so they fear nothing and continue the plan.

Brilliant… cripple third world economies while destroying your own business that require raw materials and food.

Because, you know, EU has such great rubber plantations and cattle grazing.

Maybe they plan to eat bugs? Oh… wait.

Ladies and gentlemen,

If would be wise for one to start to live life as a pioneer.

Self-reliant

A reliable food and water source.
Sanitation that is operated by you.
Your own energy source.
Ect…

Harden those sources that you need to live.

As insane as things are getting they will be getting far worse.

They have already stated their goals. “ you will own nothing and love it” “ you will be eating bugs”.

It may be unwise not to take them at their word and respond accordingly.

Start with a simple plan so as to not get overwhelmed.
Put together a plan to out live your neighbors.
Think local.

Indeed.

Start with small. steps!

Remember. The only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time.

👍👍

Edit : snake steps. Lol!

My neighbors are flatlander urban pieces of refuse whose idea of “survival” is to have a 20,000 square foot house with a grocery delivery service.

I plan to outlive my neighbors by eating them.

But if the West cripples their economy, won't the West owe them "reparations" or "universal basic living" or some such shit?

I'd probably cook that on a rotating spit over an open fire so the fat can drain off onto the fire... Nothing there to slow cook in a casserole dish.

ABC liquors has an app to search for cheapest booze, as low as 50 cent(s) a shot!

Every liquor on the linked page is some sort of *mango/pineapple/strawberry* flavored type of shite.
I would wager heavy it was written by a black, woman, alcoholic.
Not the target market here.....or so I've been led to believe.

so, our 1.00 dollar a dozen Trump eggs, that are now 3.00 dollars under Biden, might go up to 5.00 a dozen?
You still have eggs for $3 a dozen ?
Where, I might visit ?

The SMR's will basically become battery chargers.

No. It's a controlled demolition of our economy and our country.
