Guess I got up sold on an axsr at mhsa 😜
There’s nothing wrong with either!! But I wouldn’t sell one at a loss to get the other. I like the AXSR forend with Arca built in but the MC has those as an aftermarket upgrade to.

The safety would be the only real difference for me as I like the grip of the MC and my AT

I'm never shooting +30 cal... Might as well get the waiting started I guess.

The Pale Brown color from GCP on the grip adapter skins was a bit off in my opinion (it kinda split the difference between the ergo grip and the main cerakote and was a dustier sheen)....but a couple coats of Rust-Oleum Satin Nutmeg and a few of matte clear coat got them close enough in color and sheen where they don't swear at you in most lights. We'll see how it holds up :)

Any AI AT shooters out there that have installed bag riders onto the stock? Any sources and/or issues that you ran into?

Any reason AXMC owners don't seem to switch the MLOK handguard?

No reason to after getting an Arca rail?

Any reason AXMC owners don't seem to switch the MLOK handguard?

No reason to after getting an Arca rail?
Several reasons (for me at least):

The main one is the fact that MLok uses T-nuts and screws that project inside the handguard. This means that they can catch/damage the surface/threads of the barrel and with the AXMC's large tennon size, can actually prevent the barrel from being installed or removed without removing all your accessories (something I have no interest in doing). Keyslot by contrast, sits flush with the inner surface of the handguard once installed.

Secondly, if you want to maintain your continuous top rail you have 2 options...either cobble a way to attach your original rail back onto the hammer rail, or change your action rail to the 20 moa one since the AI Mlok option only comes in 20 moa. Personally, I prefer the original 30 moa.

Finally...why? To save a few bucks on accessories? I'm not going to drop hundreds on a new handguard to do that. Plus anything I want to add, already comes in keyslot. QD sling swivel? (AO/Anarchy Outdoors makes a great one). Weights? (There are several options from win tac, Sawtooth and probably others?) Arca rails including R-Lock are plentiful from RRS and Sawtooth....and just about anything else you could possibly imagine probably has a Picatinny option ..and several pic rails come with the AXMC...so again....why?

Hope this helps!

Great response. I'll stick with Keyslot.

I'll have to figure out another way to get the Scout light, vertical foregrip and bayonet mount on there.

I think many people (not saying specifically here) confuse keyslot with keymod. Keyslot is flush fit on the inside of the rail used on AI vs mlok or Keymod on AR’s etc. I’ve never tested myself but apparently mlok is tougher and withstands more abuse than keymod. Read this somewhere based on a test.

But I’d think Keyslot can take the most abuse given the accessory rail could even loosen a touch and still remain in place

Damn son, you must’ve been bored if you decided to type all that up.

My lazy a* would’ve been like, one comes in a deployment kit, the other doesn’t 😃
