New Rifle: Seekins Havak HIT

Really want to see some different barrel lengths and the .223 conversion! Got to shoot my dad’s hit over thanksgiving and was extremely impressed, plan on picking one up asap.

Glen, I noticed the fore-end seems to be removable is there plans for an enclosed fore-end? Or maybe a fore-end that's plastic/covered in plastic or some other material for hunting so you're not grabbing onto cold aluminum.

How about a version of the elements carbon fiber stock inletted for the hit? If the dust cover could be integrated into it that would be even better. A lightish carbon fiber barreled Hit that could keep the junk out of my action on a hunt would be tits. That would make the Hit a complete one gun wonder with its ability to swap barrels easily. Shoot lr stuff all spring and summer then hunting in the fall with a simple barrel, bolt face and stock swap! 👍

I would like to order directly from Seekins not a retailer. Would pay more for the more knowledgeable service. I would like to be able to order rifle and additional barrels at the same time. Shorter barrel length options would be cool too. Interchangeable barrel feature requires barrel availability. Lead time no problem if my order is cued up with some reasonable estimate of delivery date.
 
I would like thumb rest like Xlr, enclosed night vision bridge, and a bigger bolt knob or changeable bolt knobs. And heavier barrel options for comps.

Glen, I called the sales team earlier but didn’t get the info I was looking for as the I don’t think the gentleman understood what I was asking. On the havac hitt pro, or havac hitt for that matter, it has a bag rider. Can this be removed and is there anything underneath it where one could install a rail so that a monopod could be installed? Section question I have is for the .223 bolt. Are you guys selling these yet? I’d like to get a 300 blackout barrel for hunting in Illinois but couldn’t find anywhere where I could buy the bolt face for 223. Thanks for any info you can provide! Ps, I’ve got a Havac Hitt pro on order, cant wait to get it!

There is a slot in the buttstock someone could use to attach something to, don't know if that's what it was intended for, (see attached photo)
The bag rider appears like it's removable with an Allen screw

Just saw these listed on Seekins new products page. The nv bridge shows as in stock. The hit specific arca rail is not in stock but just the fact that it is listed hopefully means it will be some day soon.

I never even noticed the bridge was available. I'd love one... not for NV, but to mount my offset optic to. But the price is a bit much for just moving it 3/4's of an inch from where it is now to there. lol

Easily ordered barrels on the website would be nice. Don't need one yet, but at the rate I'm shooting the rifle, I will.
 
And now a little story of how customer service should be. A week before Thanksgiving I contacted customer service by e-mail about an issue I had with the length of pull adjustment on my Hit. I know, call them. I leave the phone calls for dire situations. Any way, my lop would not stay fixed after several rounds. Then I discovered all I had to do was smack it a couple of times and it would move. This was not a total collapse situation, and I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. So, they told me to send the chassis in. They sent the return label for FedEx, they got it 2 days before Thanksgiving. Figuring its the holidays, I let it slide for a week. No big deal. Finally, I decide to e-mail them just to see if anybody looked at it. 10 minutes later, I get a phone call from customer service. He apologized for the delay and explained that the mechanism for the lop would have to be basically destroyed to see what was what. So, they shipped a NEW chassis that SAME day! I also got a couple of other little goodies with it. I wish I could remember the name of the rep. He was fantastic. Seekins has a lifetime customer here. Whatever I need, they will be considered first. Thank you, Seekins.

Looks like 223 barrels are in stock on their site! Wonder when you can order a 223 bolt head to complete the set up. Very interested in a compatible lightweight chassis to let the rifle flex for field matches.

Yeah the only ones in stock that I saw when I looked were .223 wylde barrels and the .223 bolt heads. Nothing else was in stock barrel wise. I have a feeling they went very quick.

Edit: when I look online now it says “in stock” but when you go to cart it says back-ordered. Not sure if anyone actually got one.

You know it has a thumb shelf built into the chassis right?
 
Yes, sort of but I like a big pad like the Xlr. Same reason I got rid on my ACC. It has a thin fixed thumb shelf just not what I’m after.

The seekins was small and not placed well for me personally
 
Does anyone know what grip is used on the Hit rifle? I would like to use it on other rifles, I enjoy it a lot.

I picked up a Hit 6.5cm this past week. Need to decide on a scope and het going with this thing
 
They said they are announcing it at SHOT when I talked with the guys at sheep show. All the way up to .338 Lapua Magnum. And something about a light hunting chassis. I had worked a 12 hour shift prior to going to sheep show so I had been awake for like 20 hours that point and was like 5/4’s retarded so my memory is kinda fuzzy.
 
Just wanted to chime in with my experience with my Seekins Havak HIT 6.5 PRC. I have only put 2 boxes of Norma 143g golden target to zero and get some dope for some various distances. I have a Sightron SIII PLR 8-32x56 scope on top, magpul m-lok bipod, and an Area 419 hellfire .30 cal brake.

This is the only ammo I have fired through it. I have some 147g ELD and 143g precision hunter to try out, but so far, just this $22/box golden target.

This was the last 3 shots of ammo I had with me, at 600yards. Wind was bouncing around a little, 3-5mph crosswind component. So it was light, but not calm. I am impressed so far! The bolt runs great, no feeding issues out of the mags etc. No problems so far. Nicest gun I've ever owned by a mile. (Never had a custom build done, or anything super wild obviously). In the past I shot out to 800 yards with much cheaper rifles, hoping to take this out a lot further as I get back in the groove. It looks like the gun wont be holding me back!

Is there anymore word on more barrels?

I see them OOS on seekins website, curious if any aftermarket support will materialize?

Have a HIT Pro 6.5 PRC en route. Excited based on my experience with other Havak Bravos I’ve owned.
 
Carbonsix is the only place that lists the Hit as an online selection for barrels on their web site. I haven't found anybody else. I have an order in for a 6.5 creed barrel from Seekins since October 17, 2022. They told me to expect a 4 to 6 month wait. You are really going to like the rifle.
 
Shot the HIT today, damn I love it. We had 1k first round hits for 2 of us. 6 GT is easy mode.

6GT with 32gr varget 105gr BTHP 5/1000 of lands. These were rounds 21-25 through barrel. I’m thinking I’ll pick up a 6.5 PRC now.
