Oregon passes Measure 114

You are mistaken.

Oregon hasn’t had a Republican governor for 35 years.

Thirty

Five

Years.

Oregon voted for Dukakis. How’s that for “how fücking stupid can you get?”

Past a certain point you gotta cut your losses and move on. He only hits me when he drinks gets old.

P
Yes but the seperation between Republican and Democrat is not that much. If more conservatives from Idaho, and Texas, and California, and Washington move to Oregon, we can turn the state RED!

California is a lost cause, and even Washington and Colorado are lost causes. If you're a conservative in one of those states, your best chance of living in a beautiful state that votes red on the west coast is Oregon.

The last time a Republican won Oregon for President was 1980 for Reagan. 5 counties control the state. We have been infested with Californicans. It's over. Coming to a red state near you. Democracy in action!

I like your spirit but I think Idaho is the best bet for Republicans in the Northwest. A bunch of my libtard relatives moved to Idaho, every time we speak I tell them to go back to Seattle but so far only two of them have left Couer D'Alene.

Texas needs all the Republicans it can get, the Demoncrats are trying hard to flip it.

Texas and Georgia too. Maybe even North Carolina.

I think if you live in a place that is too red, move to a purple state and help flip it red.

500,000 in a state with 4.2 million.

Ain’t happening.
but the Democrat-Republican divide is only half a million. With enough people moving here and raising conservative kids, it could make a huge difference.

No, please don't leave. We need more conservatives, 2A Democrats, and moderates to move to the state. There is literally only a 500,000 person divide between Republicans and Democrats, if there was a blue state we could easily flip, it's Oregon. In fact, it's much harder to ever flip Colorado, New Mexico, or Virginia. Oregon is the closest we have flipping a blue state red, we need more people with the right values to move in, not leave.
So I’m AD stationed in OR as a FL resident He is right the state is very conservative everywhere except the big cities like Portland & Eugene. The divide for the Governor was very close and could have went red if the wasn’t a 3rd party candidate and this measure barely passed as well. the State is amazing outside of politics, you won’t find a better place for outdoor adventures.

The difference is GA is truly a red state(and Tx as well for that matter but I don't live there..) while Oregon I could easily believe actually is purple(aka citidiot population and "pro 2A liberals" like rusty offsetting the interests of 90% of the rest of the state) - we just allowed commies and neocunts here to control/steal the vote, giving the illusion of a purple state. With actual real/un-rigged elections, GA would have a similar political outlook as Florida currently IMO.

Of course the NRA and GOA has offered NOTHING to help OFF. As a life member of GOA I am particularly pissed at them. They have written Oregon off whilst parading their efforts in New York. When engaged their attitude is , "Well, Oregon is a blue state" etc. New York?

Snoody fucking yankees. I want my money back. They are just like the NRA now.

Be advised, the third-party candidate was a “former” democrat running as an independent. The only reason the vote was close is because she pulled votes away from the hard-core lefty, not the Republican.

The whole 114 measure is flawed before the vote . 'illegal' by Oregon own rules . 114 is/was a number of separate issues all rolled-up together to be publicly voted on . Measures must be singular.

Betsy sure had a lot of signs up in alfalfa fields and cattle ranches in Eastern Oregon. Fact remains more people voted against Tina than voted for her. She didn't get 50% of the vote. Too bad we don't have runoffs here. Tina would lose.

Things are worse than we might have even thought: the magazine in your open or concealed carry must come as a 10-bullet configuration from the factory, a magazine cannot be modified to meet the 10-bullet limitation, ruling out a lot of california-compliant options such as glock magazines that have spacers limiting capacity. Thankfully I have a SIg P365 that comes from the factory in a 10-bullet capacity magazine configuration, but the rest of my handguns I will only be able to have at home or carried to a gun range in a locked case.

If you are carrying in any of the 6 communist counties in Oregon, Clackanoma, Lanebent, etc. and you end up shooting someone to defend your life, you will be fucked anyhow. Might as well shoot them 17 times. You are going to prison. Douglas Co, Harney Co, probably be OK. Oh and don't smoke a cigarette after you shoot someone. It means you wern't really skeered.

Yeah I'm pretty screwed living in Washington County (in a suburb of Portland near Nike) but I plan on moving to a gun-friendly county in Oregon in 5 years. I'm just avoiding Portland altogether to avoid having to use my firearm altogether. The homeless problems and gang shootings are getting out of control.

Update on the status of FICS transactions in the Pended/Delayed Queue - Oregon (Photo) - 12/02/22

BM114 becomes law on December 8, 2022. Since November 8, 2022, the FICS unit has experienced unprecedented volumes of firearms transactions never seen before in the program’s 26-year history. OSP continues to work diligently to process and resolve as many of the pended/delayed FICS transactions as possible.

FICS transactions that are not completed with an approval number by midnight on December 7, 2022, will require the purchaser to initiate their permit application to obtain a Permit-to-Purchase before their FICS transaction can resume. This means your FICS transaction will not be canceled on December 8th. Once the purchaser has an approved permit, the FICS transaction will resume.

It is important to note that many times pended/delayed FICS transactions are due to missing, incomplete, or incorrect information. When there is missing or incomplete information on a person’s Computerized Criminal History (CCH), OSP must contact the agency that is the owner of that information to obtain official records so that OSP can determine whether the person is approved for the firearm purchase. The agencies contacted most for missing or incomplete information are the Courts or District Attorneys’ offices throughout the United States. There are no required timelines for the agencies to respond to our requests for missing or incomplete information. By statute, the information within the FICS transaction database can only be held for five years.

Oregon State Police has worked with Permit Agents regarding the application form for the Permit-to-Purchase. The draft application is in the final review with permitting agencies and will be posted to the Oregon State Police’s website and available to those wishing to apply for a Permit-to-Purchase on December 8, 2022.

With BM114 becoming law on December 8, 2022, this gives Oregon State Police a very short window to develop a program and have technology available for use on day 1 of the new law. Because of this, the Permit-to-Purchase program at Oregon State Police will be a manual paper process until new technical systems can be designed and implemented.

Here’s the current background check queue.

I was number 2,500, and then after a week, I got pushed back to 3700 because all the Concealed Handgun License people jumped the que ahead of me, but then my FFL pushed me through by sitting on the phone for 5 hours. They only did that for me because I had purchased 21 guns through them and valued me as a customer. I got lucky.

They’re trying to fix the phone system now. It auto disconnects us after 3.5 hours on hold.

By law they can release it after 3 days even if they don't hear anything. Most FFL's won't because their too afraid to.

It's on the third page. https://www.oregon.gov/osp/programs/cjis/Shared Documents/FICS Unit Overview.pdf

"OREGON STATE POLICE
CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION SERVICES DIVISION
FIREARMS INSTANT CHECK SYSTEM (FICS) PROGRAM OVERVIEW
2021 Year-end Report
Statutory Requirement for Response to Dealers
ORS 166.412 requires that OSP maintain an instant check system for conducting criminal
background checks for federally licensed gun dealers and private parties prior to the transfer of
a firearm. OSP must immediately determine whether the purchaser is qualified or disqualified
to complete the firearm transfer under state or federal law either during the dealer’s contact or
by return call. Statute also requires that if OSP is unable to determine if the purchaser is
approved or denied within 30 minutes, OSP must notify the dealer and provide an estimate of
time when the check will be completed. Background checks that cannot be completed within
the 30 minutes are placed in a Pended/Delayed status until sufficient record information can be
obtained to complete the request.
Both state and federal laws provide that the gun dealer may deliver the firearm to the
purchaser after a defined period (approximately three business days), if OSP does not provide
notice that the purchaser has been approved or denied."

The next question is what will the wait time be for the permit to purchase once the state police open up the process.

That was my thought, I was aware of the 3-day rule but I agree, I think my FFL was just too afraid to hand them off to me in case they get in trouble with the state.

The rub is that provision goes away on the 8th. If I transfer unapproved guns on the 7th and they come after me on the 8th for violating the law, right or wrong I have to defend that and none of my customers that got their guns after the 3 days are going to lift a finger to help me with that.

Until after this all settles down I'd be extra careful starting on the 8th. Better yet on the 7th for extra measure.

Just picked up my last order. My new FFL is ending background checks today, I was lucky enough that they were even accepting online FFL transfers to begin with since so many others have stopped doing that. There are a few things on my wish list that I did not get but I'll have to wait for the courts to rule in my favor before I make another purchase, no way I'm getting anything else when the new law passes on the 8th.

I have a chl and got in line for my ap5-p at 8046 out of 33763 2 days ago, but my FFL said a note appeared that I'm delayed until 1/4/2023. Wtf does that mean

The 36 need to surround the 4 and not let anything in nor out. It’s the same in every state where ther is a major metropolitan area, the inmates run the asylum and they vote like idiots because their world view is devoid of reason. Talks about this lunacy in the Bible and it’s going to get worse, a lot worse, before it get better.
This would be great, that goofball governor seemed to like the autonomous zone anyway. It's around it like escape from New York and take turns Manning the position so that no one can get out. It'll sort itself out in a year or two.
This will never pass a 2nd amendment test in any court that has a judge(s) with an operating brain that shows an IQ score greater than a jellyfish
I don't think he realized this but we don't have a second amendment in this country. When they passed the organic act of 1871 they didn't include it in the new constitution. If we still had any of our enumerated rights none of this shit would be happening.

Hopefully the fed judge will still make a decision on it. My guess she will just defer to state now. The lawsuits will remain but just be out there in the future. Everything becomes law with no challenge until the suit goes to court.

How will a man be able to differentiate between the “good” cops that won’t enforce these tyrannical laws and the bad ones that will. Remember this has to be done on the fly and getting it wrong may end your life and ruin your family all because of a handful of tyrants setting policy the police enforce with violence. Are the police in Oregon still considered friendlies considering? I’ll let you guys decide.
