Manners LRH Discussion

I’d hunted with my lrh with an arca rail and it was fine to carry, and would have been end better without the arca rail. Running a Hawkins flush hunter mag was key to be able to hold the gun at its balance point.

I put an order in for an LRH recently as well.
The only thing I'm a little concerned about is how comfortable it'll be to carry in hand while hunting given the fatter squared off forend.
Those of you who've hunted with this stock what are your thoughts on carryability ?
It’s thinner than my previous PRS2 and i carried it quite often. I really don’t think it will be an issue and i have small hands

UPDATE: We got the first batch of 30 full length arca rails in and I will be posting some pics of it here soon.

We plan on selling them for $100 if you want it standalone. If you want it added to an order it will be either $30 or $50. ($30 IIRC) due to you won't need the shorter one or any other mount. I haven't gone out to shoot with it yet but so far I like it. Doesn't add much weight and fits nicely. The 1/4 -20 mounting should keep it rock solid which is a must in my book. I plan on using it with my Area 419 bipod and tripod mounts to see how well it works. I expect it to be great as that's the standard we used and will be reporting back with weights and pics here soon.
I'm in for one! My LRH stock has the two sling studs, would these just be removed to fit the arca rail and then utilize the holes for the mini arca rail that's already on there?

It carry’s fine, didn’t have any complaints, but the feel of the aluminum rail is cold colder then carbon fiber.

On hold with manners, hands down best hold music ever lol Johnny Cash is unrivaled for being on hold
Unfortunately there was A LOT of holding today. Busier than we’ve seen in a long time. It will take a few days to process all these Black Friday orders. Insanity I tell you!

I don’t have any issue with it. I think the shape is a nice compromise with the rounded edges. I like mine and ordered another.

is anyone being counter productive and running a m24 contour steel barrel in their LRH stock? Or does anyone know if it will fit with out having to sand down the stock?

First Rob… why.

Second most of the ones I’ve seen have been inletted for a proof sendero. So maybe not quite m24 thick but still pretty thicc

I wont be home till Christmas but if we don’t have an answer by then I’ll drop my brothers 308 which is a m40 contour in the LRH

Mine is a #14 which is M24/M40 profile in Carbon Fiber. I’ve built two like this with no fitting required.

There is a PRS shooter running a 1.25” in one.

Since the top of the stock is below the centerline of the barrel it can allow a fatter barrel than other hunter stocks. We list max as m/40 as the other Elite Hunters fall in that but it can take more

I’ve packed a rifle or ten, and killed a elk or ten, by far this stock is the most comfortable stock I’ve shot & packed around the hills of Montana,on top of that shooting a .300wm with a ultra thin recoil pad handles it like none other. I wish I had on other one in LA and two in SA.

what action did you go with? Anti? Also what is the weight difference between the 1/2” recoil pad and full fledge decelerator?

I have the anti long action with mini chassis, 24” proof barrel, magpul bottom metal, Tt trigger and Nightforc on top. The stock has the slimmest recoil pad they offer, and not sure it would make a difference in weight that much with the thicker pad. I’m running a .300wm and recoil is manageable, I know everyone’s different.

I have an AG Adjustable hunter RH LA in Carbon Urban Camo color, I’m going to sell when I get my hands on another LRH.

Love the lrh. This is my Altus built 300 Norma. I’m running the Hawkins hunter mags, but the 338 mags don’t sit as flush as the “standard” mags. Not a big issue to be honest, but something for folks shooting the bigger magnums to consider. Also this stock handles recoil very well in my opinion. I’m shooting 230’s, and have never shot anything bigger than a 7ss before this rifle, and I really don’t feel any more perceivable recoil than that rifle which was in a prs 1.

I will confirm that the medium action does not come with a mini-chassis. I was a bit surprised considering is almost standard on the SA LRH. The medium length stock I ordered is ready and is about to ship. I asked for clarification after reading somewhere that the medium is pillars only.

Oh well,I’ve done that more than a time or two.

22" heavy contour barrel makes most of the weight. But for short hikes from stand to stand, it should be ok. Still weighs 10lbs less than my AI so it's a win in my book lol

This is the only photo I have, but it should give you an idea of what it looks like.

The only thing I didnt like about my LRH was the cheekpiece. I know its there to save weight but its so flimsy and thin I would have liked them to have a loggerhead setup or something to not only be more stable, but easier to take off when cleaning the gun. The allen key and spacers were kind of a pain to line up to reinstall.

Hey, just came across this and wondering if anyone has tried to fit it to the LRH for a full length Arca option that wraps around the bottom metal? Looks like it has a lot of clearance but may still work. It’s from Salmon River Solutions. They make both a full length arca and arca/pic combo.

I used the full length Arca rail from SRS on mine. You need to source another fastner from the hardware store to go into where the little choad arca rail was, and one to replace the stud. Mounted up great and used it at NRL hunter match.

Can you post some pictures of this setup? I'm leaning this direction for my LRH, but would like to see how it fits around the bottom metal and just overall fit. Thanks

Manners really hit a home run with this stock. It is by far my most favorite Manners offering.

If I had to pick one thing to change it would be the spacer cheekpiece arrangement. I know it would add weight and possibly weaken the structure of the butt......but I like the oldschool style adjustable cheek hardware. Although a lighter tool-less version of the clamp style would be pretty sweet.

Hi Ern - I too really like the KMW comb hardware and there is a toolless knob sold by….er, TS Custom maybe. Got on in a HS Precision Rem 700 hunting rig.

My only objection to Manners stocks is the large distance between grip front strap and trigger. I can’t plan a basketball and it seems that all the Manners stock have too much space for my little girl hands.

Given that, do you have a fav stock for people w smaller hands/fingers?

Depending on how far you need it moved, you may get Manners to run the inletting program with a little rearward offset. I am not sure how their programs are setup but it might be a pretty simple process........or not.

Other than that, other small hand comp shooters I have seen just shift their grip hand forward enough to get a 90degree finger......basically getting more of a palm weld instead of a monkey grip.

Lol. If anything, I find the LRH grip too small/close to trigger shoe and would prefer a higher thumb self.

Options are good but part of what makes the LRH great is the weight. Happy with the current design. The KMW cheek adds a pound on any stock and I've changed out any stocks with the kmw adjustable cheek on hunting builds.

If you need a light weight adjustable cheek piece send it to LRI they have equipment to add an adjustment for like only a couple ounces
