Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

Any updates on the new Vudoo aluminum mags?
I saw some pictures at the Precision Rifle Expo in Navasota, TX last weekend. Radical change to the exterior - it’s angled to prevent being slammed into barricades / bags and to help prevent rim lock. There is also an adjustment for mag releases (which I did not understand nor can I comment on)

I've been doing a little more creativity here with my 3D printer. My fingers have trouble getting the cartridges out of the Lapua or SK boxes one-by-one to load into magazines or to take out and put in a bench tray for single shot feed. The lube can be messy so I don't like to just dump them out, so I've made a simple fixture that you put the 50-round tray in right out of the box, and it raises the shells up -- rows in alternating heights -- to make them easy to grab without having to pry them up with my fingernails. Not a big deal, but takes care of a small annoyance.

I've added this gadget, along with a new single-shot bench tray I designed, to the listing HERE

Is there a way to estimate production months on a Vudoo V22 (VGW45XX) and or 360 (VGWT25XX) rifle short of calling them?

Don't be afraid of calling them -- they're nice folks!
But... you can go to https://vudoogunworks.com/order-worksheet/

Near the top of the page, it currently says:

*Full build lead times are 30-45 days.

*Barreled Action lead time 30 days.
MileHighShooting.com
has a few in stock and ready to go. Although it says V-22, the one I got was the 360. I think they didn't update their site, but you can call to make sure. Of course you are limited to "black" finish and set lengths and barrel contour. They even had left-handed actions which is true benefit for me as I usually have to wait longer to get a left handed anything....

Yeah sounds like he is looking for the date of production and not buying one.

I believe what WeeHooker is asking is how to determine when a given s/n bbl'd action was made....?
Yes, I already own the two Rifles listed . The 360 was purchased as a new barreled action from A419 and the V22 as a lightly used (factory ordered) rifle from a private party . I and was just interested in getting a little history on how long ago they left the factory ( for no particular reason other than curiosity.) I've emailed VGW to see if they can provide .

Yeah, my goof... if I'd been paying more attention, I'd have noticed that it was about two specific serial numbered rifles.

It's good to know, though, that the lead time is MUCH less than it has previously been!

All good. I also noticed advertised leads times are near 20-30% of where they were 6 months ago when I was looking. Wonder if that's due to increased production or decreased demand?
In any case, I'd have been more likely to order a rifle that I could get in 45 days. The previous 5-6 month wait was just too much of a fortitude test for this old shooter. ;)

New question: What ( if any) is the difference in the red vs black followers in the standard plastic 10 round mags. I have 3 red and one black. They appear identical other than color.

I think VGW put out a video about the different (red and black) followers, but you'd have to look though their channel more and find it. All 5 of my Vudoo mags are Poly with red followers, they all feed great (MPA BA chassis), unless they aren't loaded properly and get rim-lock, only happened one time when "the boy" loaded a mag wrong.

If you're having issues, check out this video MB put out explaining how the mags can cause problems if the DBM or chassis isn't set up right:

The issue in the past wasn't the action, it was the barrels. Barrel supply has gone up dramatically. If you only wanted an action you could always get one in ~1-2 weeks.

Based on feedback, I've changed the lifter box to have more height stagger between the rows, so now you can actually use it to single-shot load direct from the tray... or of course, it's also still useful as just an easier way to get the cartridges out of the Lapua or SK tray for magazine load or to move to another bench tray instead of having to pry them out with your fingernails. It's available in the classifieds with my other Vudoo items, HERE.

Noticed the Vudoo Logo on your mags. Is that something ( like a stencil) that can be added after purchase ? I don't see them on their website.

“Logo magazines” are available from Vudoo for an upcharge. I asked on the phone when I placed my order.

I haven’t had this problem, but in September the bolt stop on my Vudoo 360 sheared off. Vudoo was quick to send out a replacement. I was shooting tonight, and it sheared off again! It’s been 319 rounds since replacement. I’m not working the bolt excessively hard. Has anyone else had this problem?
I have had the exact same problem. I have broken mine twice now. The first one lasted 2636 rounds and the replacement lasted 839 rounds. I have been left stranded with this issue as the dealer in Australia is less than useful and also Vudoo is radio silent on me. I have created a DIY fix for it in the meanwhile.

Just took my Vudoo Three60 out of my case after coming back from a match, looks like the bolt stop sheared off?

What's the warranty process like for someone in Canada? Is it possible to just get a bolt stop shipped up and fix it myself or would I have to send the action out? Going to be sending emails out to Vudoo and GBT (Canadian dealer) but since it's Easter weekend I'm not expecting replies until Monday. I have a match in two weeks so I just want to know if I need to spend my weekend sourcing another rifle or if it can be fixed in time. Does anyone know how long the turnaround time is on a fix like this (estimate)?
I have had the same issue with mine.

You guys with sheared bolt stops are beginning to worry me. I just put a deposit down for a 360 and now I'm worried. Tell me something encouraging.

No bolt stop issues with my 360, even though I have fewer rounds through mine than any of you who've just answered. Any of you with sheared stops have the newer 360 action with the bolt stop up at 11:00 intead of down low like the older 360s do?

32k rounds, zero issues. Shoots 0.125 - 0.150 average to POA at 50yds unless its blowing like hell or colder than -18C/0F.
How often do you clean?

Just bought a new 360. First real precision .22 For me

Anyone have a 360 in a AT-X chassis ?

as imagined there will be 1000 replies like all cleaning questions

in general barrel MFG's that have posted on the hide say clean after every range session and all the questions go away

this is what several have said in unison about cleaning often:
no carbon ring
no accuracy just falls off
no shoot "until it tells you"
use proper chems not some home brew
you dont need abrasives like JB paste
a brush doesnt ruin accuracy
shoot clean repeat

almost all world cup and Olympic shooters clean after every session, practice or competition

Any news on prefits for the Vudoos???
Ibi (international barrels inc) will be doing adjustable headspace vudoo prefits. It’s been in the works for a while but they finally dropped it to the public this morning

Read Greg from Vudoo's article on cleaning. It's a good way to go.

Also that ammo you have is not the best to go through the rifle. Kind of like getting a new custom .308 and putting 147grn mil surp through it. It's a match rifle and though they may shoot they may not give you good accuracy or reliability. Buy some SK, Lapua or Eley or similar good ammo to get the most out of your new rifle.

Matt 3479, What is the advantage of the adjustable headspace?

And how are the extractor cuts being done?

Any specific ones or are these still try a bunch see what’s each individual likes ?

Like anything rimfire even the same ammo in different lots can shoot differently but if looking for longer range ammo then SK Long Range or Rifle Match, Lapua Center X, or Eley Match as ones to look for. SK Standard+ is decent for practice or 50/100 yards shooting but groups usually start to open past 100.

@Rengage

Boy did this thread ever come to life. Little for me to add. I've had the 360 for 13months now and clean it after every session. Sometimes at something over 100-120 rounds I will notice an opening up or fliers and when I scope it there is the start of a carbon ring.

Regards ammo ... I am still testing to determine if CenterX and Lapua biathlon ammos are worth the extra TO ME. Also comparing the two velocity lines offered by SK, ie. RM vs LRM. Note that I only shoot at 50 yards. I believe it is a whole different game for those at a hundred and beyond.
