I'm just starting to work with a Tikka .260 w/ 24" factory barrel. I've got a healthy supply of 140 amax, H4350 and oodles of Lapua .308 cases that have been retired from FTR use. I know Tikka barrels tend to be slow, but what should I be expecting in terms of velocity?

I'm getting 2750 with 140 SST, H4350, Lapua brass, and CCI large rifle primers out of my 20 inch CTR.

All I’ve done so far is load a middle of the road charge to zero the scope. It certainly seems to want to shoot. I’ll load a ladder just to find pressure and check velocity, but was just curious what to expect.

I bought this used, thinking it was a CTR barrelled action in a Varmint stock, but I think it must be something else. Tikka says CTR's are threaded 5/8-24, but this one is larger than that

That is a factory Tikka stock that has been painted. It looks like the Super Varmint model.

Yup, that's exactly what it is. I just wish I knew what the muzzle threads were!

What is the diameter of the threads if you measure them with the calipers you use for reloading?

Looks like Tikka offers a metric option for M18 x 1.0 which would measure 0.709 inches.

yup- that's what I've got. Thanks!
