I always find missing person cases intriguing, how they end up unravelling, and especially the mistakes the killer/kidnapper/etc. made that end up getting them caught. This one has me laughing though.

$450 at Home Depot for cleaning supplies the day your wife disappears? NBD, happens everyday. Oh and it's perfectly OK to leave a bloody, damaged knife in your basement. Also NBD. :ROFLMAO:

I mean between Netflix, Amazon Docs, Investigation ID, Discovery Channel, True Crime Channel
How do you mess this up that bad ...

LOL

They literally post blueprints on TV

100% truth. There are even more nuggets of gold in the article's video of his arraignment hearing. As it turns out, your parole officer can find out if you lie about your whereabouts while on house arrest. Who knew?

Does this mean I can't leave bloody knives in my basement - where the heck am I supposed to put them?

prob done in a fit of rage or heat of the moment. no time to line the car's trunk with a sheet of plastic.

If not blueprints, at the very least a list of, "things not to do," if you don't want to get caught. Just reinforces my mantra, "people are stupid."

So far, I think most murders on cruise ships have gotten away with it.

Small Islands...
Van Der Sloot got away with it the first time.. but fucked up the second time.
Don't forget Natalie Wood...

Cheers,

Sirhr

PS. What kind of wood doesn't float? Natalie Wood!

I am so addicted to these cases. I loved the Missing 411: The Hunted series they had on Hulu. I listen to the disappeared podcasts to go to sleep every night to my wife's shock and horror lol.

You should look up the case of Brandon Swanson in Porter, MN. There is a podcast episode somewhere on him too. Super weird/creepy. I had to take our excavator and dig out a huge section of drain tile on the Big Stone Wetland Management District i worked at a couple years back because they thought he might have ended up in it. Been missing 14 years i think though.

When they announced that the Idaho murder suspect was a criminology student, I said to my coworker... "He should demand a refund."

My wife and I watch Investigation Discovery with all the real murder shows..... It's funny how many times the criminal does something stupid and we look at each other and say " don't they watch the Investigation Discovery channel??" It's all laid out right here.

....the mistakes the killer/kidnapper/etc. made that end up getting them caught.
I worked with a guy who we'll call "Dave", who's brother's wife went missing. The brother, who we'll call "Mike", did the whole crying on the news thing "Honey please come home.."
A few days later they found her body, but nothing came of it, no arrests.

Some years later, "Dave" is living in another state and found himself in jail. I don't know for what but could speculate and probably be right. Not sure how long he'd been in. Anyway, one day out of the blue the news breaks that "Mike" has been arrested, charged with the murder. Police don't release what new evidence they found, but right around the same time, "Mike" gets released from jail. Hmmm....

I guess he figured why am I wasting my life in jail while my POS murderer brother is walking around free? Worked out a deal.
(Neither of their arrests came as a surprise to anyone.)

Still amazes me how these fools keep either their personal cell phone or the victims cell phone on them. Dropping breadcrumbs along their every move.

I think the Idaho kid was playing Netflix and thinking he could get away with it

He did all the serial killer stuff, just tried to be slick about it, he was watching
I work in public education. I assure you, some of the most educated folks are the dumbest. He appears to be one of the most arrogant, dumbass, educated people, I've ever heard of, in my 55 years. It's almost like he was living in an alternate reality and decided to kill those kids, just to prove to himself, he could beat the system. Needless to say, he deserves death by a thousand cuts from the loved ones of those lives he took.

My thoughts on that one are obsession, rejection, revenge.

The recipe for a psychopath usually has many ingredients.

For sure. My thought behind the obsession, rejection, revenge is because he used a knife. It’s much more personal to use a knife, especially in the ways he did. I’ve read reports that the scene was seriously gruesome.

Luckily it’s pretty quiet where I live, but my chiropractor did get sentenced for murdering 4 people not to long ago. Kept gun parts in his freezer and the knife in his washing machine well after the murder. He traveled down many low traffic roads and has the Missouri River a couple minutes from where he lived that he could have disposed of much of the evidence. Real weird trial without much motive known. People do some dumb and crazy shit that doesn’t make sense.

Woah!!!

WASHINGTON — Missing Massachusetts mom Ana Walshe managed a luxury Washington, DC apartment building infiltrated by phony federal agents — and residents say she was hiding information about the bizarre episode.

Members of the tenant association in the Crossing building — which houses journalists and government workers in the upstart Navy Yard neighborhood near the Capitol — say they fear that Arian Taherzadeh and Haider Ali will avoid a full public airing of their actions and that Walshe’s employer, Tishman Speyer, is withholding scandalous details from them...

To put this thread in perspective. concerning Ana,

I'd hit it.

Beat you to it BFC.

Only speculation, but I’m guessing more than just her husband was hitting it. Read an article where they interviewed a friend of Ana’s who spent NYE with the Walsh’s. One thing stuck out to me is how they said Ana was texting friends most of the night. Making an assumption that she may have been texting her side dude…which could’ve started an argument with the husband later that night if he confronted her about who she was texting…which led to the murder.
