We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!

GOA-hope you all are members

It seems like I can't join a good gun range without being a member of the NRA. I wonder why older gun people revere the NRA so much, probably a cultural thing. I'd rather my money go directly to those fighting 2A litigation.

Isn't GOA just a better version of the NRA?

Yes GOA actually fights for the second amendment while the NRA I don't know what they do anymore. Many gun ranges get there insurance through the NRA with the requirement of members of the range to be NRA members.

GOA, SAF, FPC, ASA, and... NRA just lapsed. My little range has 2 requirements. Nothing bigger than .50BMG and "No cussin' ". No NRA requirements to be a member so... Oh, and a TSRA member because I'm there all the time. Seems like they are what the NRA was 30 plus years ago.

Sent them money using their website link first week of December hoping to find out more. Never even got my membership information (yet?).
Going to help FPC next I guess. Nothing more for NRA while LaPierre is in charge.

I was told it has to due with the ranges insurance or some shit like that. One reason I will not join local range, not joing the nra, they shit the bed too many times and I will not donate to them. I have been on the wondering about GOA as well

NRA historically has been a big insurer for clubs and ranges. So they would say it's mandatory for all the club members to have a NRA membership since the NRA is insuring the range (nice racket.) Even then the NRA hasn't done individual carry insurance in a while. Thankfully my club doesn't require a NRA membership.

My donations go to GOA, FPC, and ASA (cans not bans).

I have been a NRA Life Member for over 25 years and a GOA Life Member for over 10 years. I ignore mail from the NRA, they always want money. The GOA only sends me emails and less than half of them want money. I believe the money I send to the GOA is well spent when it comes to fighting anti-gun legislation. I have no idea what the NRA does with their money but it's not for fighting the anti-gun crowd.

Update, maybe someone saw this thread, received membership card for GOA yesterday. FPC I am liking what I am seeing but the email of doom spam is NRA ILA worthy. Still will donate soon.
