Anybody get their eyes on the new TBAC’s with HUB mounts? Supposedly they have them on display at shot show

Yeah, I saw they updated their website to add them but I was hoping to get some photos of them. Nothing on their website yet

Sorry didn’t have time before we left. If someone got photos at shot maybe you can see those, otherwise we’ll post next week when we get back. Right now all our stuff is buttoned up and we’re driving back in the morning.

The 50 can overshadowed everything else we brought

Thanks everyone

Gee... I think there was this guy on here... And several years ago he mentioned that TBAC going to HUB threads on their suppressors would be a smart idea for bringing in more sales from people who wanted a TBAC, but were already too heavily invested in someone else's mounting systems to convert...

And when he did so, he got crucified by the fanboys on here, including Zak... And so they made the Magnus HUB, and it's been pretty popular. So now they're offering HUB on all the other models, too... But you know...That guy was completely wrong about everything, and he didn't know what the fuck he was talking about...

Oh what was his name... It just seems to slip my mind... 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Any chance your re-core service will add the hub threads as an option for a 30p-1?

That's a weak way of admitting that I was right all along.
Grow up or go complain elsewhere. Nobody cares that you were asking for one with Hub threads, everybody has been asking for TBAC to make that change for years so you’re not special.

They made a business decision not to and now that they have started offering it there’s no need to cry and say I told you so.

You're not special either, so your opinion of the matter means less than shit to me. Eat a bag of dicks, as well.

Never said I was I just asked you not to complain and act like an adult. But going off of your other posts on this site I see that’s a bit difficult for you.

You could have kept your mouth shut on the matter as well, but you obviously chose not to. Don't act like you hold the moral high ground on this.

Sorry I must have quoted the wrong guy, are you not the one commenting on my thread about how you were “right all along”?

You could have easily kept yours shut as well or PM’ed the guys from TBAC on your validation seeking mission. I asked to keep this thread on track or go elsewhere. No need to bitch and complain here when you can start your own up to do that.

There is no ego on my end. I don't need validation from anyone... I knew I was right the entire time. TBAC offering everything with HUB threads starting this year is all the validation there could possibly ever be. What I seek is vindication of all the ridicule I received, including from them stating that they would never do that because it was "too much liability using other people's inferior mounting systems" and then 2 years later, them pulling a 180º, and introducing it at SHOT 2023. I don't want a damn thing from anyone...But an apology would be nice. But I know i'll never get that either.

You are welcome to seek your vindication I just ask that you do it elsewhere or in private. I made this post simply to get some photos and info on the new suppressors so hopefully we can get back on track with that.

I don't think anyone owes you an apology.

Things change. A couple of years ago TBAC decided that they didn't want their suppressors to interact with outside mounting systems. Perhaps that was a business decision. Perhaps that's because they didn't have confidence in the current lineup of products made by other manufacturers.

What's changed that's made them reconsider I don't know. Maybe they have more confidence in other manufacturers mounts now. Maybe in today's world it makes more business sense to open up to other mounting solutions, despite the liability involved in using other manufacturers mounts.

I know if I was TBAC I wouldn't waste any time giving you an apology. You're being incredibly petty about your previous difference of opinion. As a business, it's a waste of time to engage with someone that's just being a troll.

I think we can all agree that TBAC adding the HUB option is a big win for us consumers that use different mounting ecosystems.

Like you @FuhQ, I don't use TBAC's mounts. This is a new option for us, and that in itself is exciting.

Hub is only an advantage when a manufacturer can't make a decent muzzle device. Otherwise, it just introduces weight, complexity, cost, and compatibility conflict. There is no advantage to TBAC making hub silencers, only disadvantages.

It's an advantage for those of us that are invested in other mounting systems.

For those already invested in TBAC mounts and are happy with that system, there's no benefit.

I do... Exactly what I pointed-out in the thread 2 years ago... They were missing out on about 90% of the market. They crunched the numbers and realized that they would sell more of their cans if folks could adapt their TBAC suppressors to their current mounting systems, and that converting everything over to TBAC mounting was not a monetarily viable option for most, being that most muzzle devices are $75-150 each. It was just a smart business move.

For the record, I've never said anything negative about TBAC, Ray, or their suppressors, because I have lots of respect for them as true innovators in the industry, and I have wanted a TBAC can since they first hit the market. But the fact I couldn't adapt them to my KeyMo setups was kind of a pisser. And that's a conversation I've had with LOTS of people over the years who were interested in TBAC, but chose something else because of the same reason. It was never a dig at TBAC, but Zak took it that way. It was always just trying to help them expand their sales demographic, while helping the consumers who want TBAC cans, at the same time.

Exactly, and now I'm likely to look at more TBAC options, other than just the Magnus. I still plan on getting a Magnus soon, but the Dominus has intrigued me as well, but without the HUB mounting option, it got left on the chopping block.

My entire goal over the years, was never to be critical of TBAC or their CB mount, it was simply to expand their market to customers that were heavily-invested in other brands. You know, that "help us, help you" kind of thing.

TBAC obviously makes excellent products that are focused with precision in mind.

Like you, I haven't purchased a TBAC because I was invested in a different mounting ecosystem. Now suddenly they are on the radar, which is great news for people like you and I.

Exactly, but all it takes is one dumbfuck on the internet accusing you of something or putting words in your mouth, or misinterpreting what you said, and suddenly you're the bad guy, and everyone starts dog-piling on you, going off of what the moron said, instead of what you actually wrote. The herd mentality on the internet is what makes it such a viable weapon for the weak. Just like I used to say all the time on LRH when folks would say, "I read that the new Remington 700's were junk and had problems..." Well, not really, think about how many millions are built every year, but you never hear folks posting on the internet about the ones that shoot good, and work flawlessly do you? It's always the negative voices that are the loudest. Everyone always gets on the internet to bitch about things, but rarely to praise things. Not to mention you always gotta deal with the "Well....My bother's ex-wife's cousin's former roommate's sister's husband was once told by a bus driver from Jersey that his uncle daddy bought one and it wouldn't shoot for shit..." And people are stupid enough to fall for it, and take it as the gospel. 🤦🏼

Well, c’mon fellas. @FuhQ has a point. Perhaps he could’ve been more diplomatic.

Remember when lots of people screamed about never having to clean a centerfire can?

I own a TBAC 22 takedown. I will buy TBAC centerfire cans in the future because they made a correct business decision (in my view) to include one free cleaning per year for life. This is called a business differentiator…to my knowledge no one else offers this.

If you said you were right, but now you’re wrong, the upright thing to do is to grit your teeth, say sorry, and admit it. Move on.

Everyone makes mistakes and dismisses good advice. Everyone. There should be no shame to admit it, but it stings nonetheless.

TBAC used to make a rimfire suppressor that one could not take apart. Not user-serviceable. Not a good idea.

It’s not that people don’t make mistakes.

It’s how you act when the mistake reveals itself that matters.

TBAC sells 100% of every production run and have for as long as I can remember. It appears TBAC is only trying to satisfy the whiners. I wonder what the production schedule for the HUB SKUs will be?

Perhaps the difference between now and 2 years ago is they’re better able to keep up with the demand. There was no reason to introduce HUB when they couldn’t keep up with orders in the first place.

Hey @Zak Smith, I didn't specifically see it anywhere, but is there plans to produce the 338 Ultra with the HUB option?
Not at this time, mainly because we're concerned with HUB mounts or devices that are only .30 cal being put in them "by accident." We at least have to do some sort of survey of all the mounts out there to see if there are enough .33-cal mounts to have it be worthwhile.

We schedule batches based on what orders are in as opposed to a predictive or "command based" scheduling, so it's purely based on what customers and dealers order. Based on the Magnus numbers from 2022, the CB outsells the HUB version by a huge margin.

As for ETA of the new cans, given that we first accepted orders for it last week and our current backlog (6-8 weeks), the dealers who ordered them first should get some in late March to mid April.

So what are HUB threads?

Thank you in advance!
SilencerCo uses a 1.375x24 thread at the rear of some of their cans, which they dubbed the “Bravo”. They sold a zillion of those cans and people became vested in the mount system. Other can and mount manufacturers began using it. Now its by far the most popular mount pattern across the industry and referred to as the HUB.

Worth noting 1.375x24 TPI is used both by the female threaded Bravo cans as well as male threaded “Charlie” cans. The Charlie pattern addresses the concerns/issues with adapter backing out of the can in HUB/Bravo patterns by utilizing a more complicated multi-piece adapter system. If you run into a 1.375x24 TPI threaded can, but the threads are on the outside that’s a Charlie pattern, not what the industry is calling HUB.

Are your HUB mount surpressed compatible with Surpressed Armament Systems T.O.M.B. mounts? If so do you offer brakes that are compatible with SAS can?

No, HUB is HUB.

As far as I can tell they offer DT and their own proprietary TOMB style system.

Our HUB models are for users who already have and understand another compatible HUB system.

We will be offering 11/16-24 DT to HUB mounts for shooting the Fly 45 on 45-70’s and we will have a reference CB to HUB adapter later this winter.

Would there an option/possible to send in and modify existing CB dominus cans to the HUB?

Selling enough cans to have 12+ month lead times. But missing 90 percent of the market.

I’m sure they’re missing 90 percent of the precision rifle market too lol
