Where abouts are you located? Have 5 pounds im probably going to end up selling
I've had 3 jugs of H4895 on backorder with a local dealer for almost 2 years now, and I have not been able to catch any in stock online in time to purchase some for over 2 years.
Shooting bot shows hodgdon direct last had some 184 days ago, midway last had some a year ago, Brownells 163 days ago, and power valley last had some 65 days ago. By the time I got the notification for PV they only had a single 1# bottle left, and it's not worth hazmat fees or figuring out your loads for a new lot of powder when you only have 1# of it.
I'm down to my last 8# jug, I use it in my 223AI for heavies and it's the best powder I've found for that rifle. I hope I can get more soon as that's one of my favorite rifles to shoot.
Hopefully a decent sized run happens soon, but I'm not holding my breath for it.
I switched powders as h4895 was impossible to find. Now im using 4064 in 308 with 165s
That's a tough one, for sure. I have a friend that had the same issue and just gave up and started using N530 instead. It's easy to find and is very close in burn rate.

Switching powder is a possibility but not something I really want to do. I have 2x rifles sending 223AIs that both like H4895 better than anything else I've tried. I have alternative loads already developed using varget and AR comp (both of which I have plenty of) but neither are as good as the H4895 load in terms of accuracy or velocity.
The new staball match looks like a possibility too, even if the data shows it might max out in terms of pressure vs velocity before H4895. Based on the shorter manufacturing time and USA based plant staball match should be much easier to get. I need to get some for testing.

No Staball HD is the one similar to H1000/Retumbo.

I cleaned Bobcat Armament out of their last 7 pounds of Match Rifle about 3 weeks ago.
They had 16 lbs. of it for a while and it trickled down to 7 lbs. So I just said screw it and bought it all.
Hated to be 'that guy' but, well, things being like they are and all.
