Any C6 corvette fans here?

So do none of y'all have top secret squirrel documents in your garage next to the 'vette?
Asking for a friend who may need character witnesses.;):ROFLMAO:

None that I have run across. The thing about classified documents (confidential, secret, and top secret) is that most of it is really not a big deal. Top Secret usually has substance but most confidential and secret stuff can be rather boring. I use to stop by the message center on my duty days to pick up the messages in the morning to set up the message book for the CO and XO and most of it was basic stuff.

Sometimes you might get a confidential or secret weather report or secret messages letting commands know that some Admiral would be arriving at the MAC terminal that day. They should come out and say (in general terms) what type of information they found in Donald and Joe’s possession before folks think it’s nothing but the most important top secret documents controlled by the government that found their way into a home. Granted, that does not justify the action but I would bet most of its importance is just hype for the latest headline.

These cars age well, far better than the C7 in appearance..... modern classic in my opinion. Our GS 6mt.

You're link ain't working, and now i kinda wanna see a 6 speed stick shift haha...

I have read on the vette forums that a few folks had issues with factory wheels. Not so much cracking as bending a bit and they were losing air but I have not had an issue after several pot holes over the years. The only wheel issue I have had has been with the local tire shop gouging up the front wheels after putting on new tires. Took me about six months but they finally bought me new wheels.

They're literally cracking, here is a thread that is actively going on rn on CF.

I really like those wheels though. If i cant find the c6 spyder wheel that i want i may just end up buying some like yours but in pearl nickel finish. I think they look really good on a red car.

Hey hey, what does it really matter since I keep my corvette in my locked garage.
Mind your own business.

The only decision re: C6 is LS7 or LS9.

Z car all the way.

Oh the Feeb's are coming for you fo sure!

Are these the wheels that are famous for cracking?

I know some C7s came out with shitty wheels. Either way, sick car!

Any car with big low profile rims/tires can crack or bend on potholes.

I have been looking at the c5/c6 corvettes, here in AZ there are tons of them with low miles because Grandpa gets his dream car and then drops dead 10 years later w/o driving it. The only problem is the oldsters usually get silver or that camry biege kinda color.

The wheels cracking are happening on specifically on some c7 wheels at much higher rates than other wheels of the same size that wear same size tires. But anyhow, c5 and c6 vettes are freaking amazing. Take your time and stay patient. The right one will pop up eventually.

You did good on the price. But now how much longer of a wait time? A year haha?
Pretty much. They won’t get a lot of allocations which I already knew, but honestly in no hurry to spend $120k on car either lol

Haha I'm just giving you a hard time because everyone seems to bash on how ridiculously expensive the prices are on these and how long the wait times are.

You did really really good on getting below msrp.

C5 and C6 wheels were made in Italy by Speedline. Some may have been made in Mexico I believe, but most were made in Italy.

C7 wheels were made in China. Still by Speedline, but in China. GM and Speedline will say "that doesnt matter because we hold the same standard vs. made in Italy"... Some blame the design. Some blame run flats because the tire profile is small and the side walls are stupid hard. Its also interesting that on the OEM runflats only 1 side of the tire side wall is "run flat" and a lot of the wheels that bend were on that side. Some got rid of the runflats when the car was brand new and never reported bending a wheel. One guy only tracked his C7Z on obviously non run flats and said he never had an issue even running over curbing and rumbles.

I had a 2019 Z06... I had at least 1 slightly bent wheel(enough to feel it) with under 5k miles on the car and I was ALWAYS super careful with that car because I knew it had the potential.

You simply dont see the reports of C5 or C6 wheels bending or cracking like the C7 and there are A LOT of C6 wheels that are basically the same size as C7 wheels...

Just today finished installing an engine in a 2013 ZO6 . Keith Dorton in Concord NC did the work. Just under 700 HP. It's got a nice old school rumble to it.

This was my 2008 Z. I had the heads done at RPM in Delaware and it had exhaust and a bunch of other stuff. It definitely was an amazingly fun car. I sold it last year and ordered a brand new 2023 Camaro 2SS 1LE.

The Camaro was just delivered Monday, but I have a foot of snow at my house right now so I have no idea when I can pick it up and bring it home. The stock tires shouldn’t be driven in temps under 40*F.

Both sick cars. How much did the z go for if you don't mind?

I sold mine for 35k. It had 50k miles and I was seeing people asking way too much for theirs. I thought it was a fair price for a ready-to-go car and the buyer agreed. Admittedly, my car wasn’t perfect, the front clip had some rock chips, but overall it was a nice clean car, and ran very well.

I had removed the entire interior and added sound deadening and closed cell foam, added a nice new amplified sound system with all new wiring and speakers, Z06 premium floor mats from Lloyd’s mats, quick shifter, tint, carbon fiber rear spoiler, along with the heads/intake/exhaust/tune package from Race Proven Motorsports. The car was a beast.

This 100%. My uncle just picked up a 2015 Z-06 (all the bells and whistles) with 5500 miles on the clock for 62K. Freinds that are outta money and were hurting for cash. I fear "lot rot" so to speak but he's stoked!

06 supercharged, can't seem to give it away........ Belongs to my buddy, I tried to tell him not to overmodify it

It's not that it won't sell, it's that it won't sell at a price that you want.

I'd give you $25k, you'd say you're giving it away.

But it's a 18 year old car that might spit a rod through the block tomorrow and cost $25k to get running again. Miles mean almost nothing when it comes to condition. And that's old enough now that every piece of rubber is probably due for replacement from age and non-use.

I have less problems with a 20 year old 300k vehicle than the 20 year old 50k vehicles.

I feel like Corvette Racing Yellow should be a color choice for every sports car ever made.

Yeah it only had 13.7k miles when it sold about 5 months ago for $33k cash in a paper bag and I just saw it Saturday for the first time since so it's finally getting run like it should......... Considering how much was put into it I think he got a good deal.

I was at Mecum Kissimmee recently and was shocked how many split window Vettes there were, not to mention the new Z06 C8s getting flipped. Even beautiful C1s was a fantastic display of old muscle.
