Union workers voting against their own self-interest

Unions, as with many other disparate, "intersectional" groups, have for years been a consistent voting bloc for the Democrat Party.

In the 60s and 70s Democrats had convinced union members that they were for the workingman, the little guy, the middle class.
According to polling firm Statista, exit polling of the 2020 Presidential Election showed 57% of households with a union member versus 40% of households without a union member voting for Joe Biden versus Donald Trump.
How's that workin out for ya? Are you better off than you were two years ago? For that matter, are you better off (as a union member) than you were 50-60 years ago?

While it is hard to imagine any segment of the population voting for Democrats given their disastrous domestic, economic and foreign policies, that union members continue to vote for Democrats is mind-boggling.

While a case could be made that union 'leaders', who like all elite segments of the populace benefit from Dem support, that blue, white, and pink collar 'workers' would still consider voting against their own self-interest doesn't make sense.
Democrats are hell-bent on destroying just about every industry in the country.

Manufacturing is down. Oil and Gas are facing a beatdown. The technology sector is down. The service industry was almost destroyed as a result of Democrat-led lockdowns. Nursing unions offered little, to no 'worker' protections as the federal government forced vaccine mandates on essential workers. The teachers unions, serving the interest of the Democrat Party machine decimated the educational system and left millions of struggling children in their wake. Teachers unions are now singularly focused on advancing the Democrat trans agenda and CRT.
For those iron and steelworkers propped behind John Fetterman, what are your prospects if he becomes the 51st vote? He's all-but-announced that he will support the "Green New Deal." How will that affect your livelihood?
For the millions of teachers led by Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers, how will advancing her and her allegiance to the Democrat Party machine serve your interests, or better yet, the interest of the students that you proclaim to care for?

For the millions of service workers led by Steve Sisolak in Nevada, how'd did that 18-month hiatus without pay feel? Did your union pay your mortgage or car payment? Buy your groceries?
Truck drivers - how's that $5+ per gallon of diesel taste? Working more, for less. Is that the new union trademark?

Finally, student unions (while not necessarily unions), how do you see your prospects to find employment in a diminishing economy? You have loyally voted the way you were instructed. How do you see that playing out, as your once-bright future is being snuffed in the cradle?
Thankfully, many (most) Fraternal Order of Police Unions have come to terms with their deleterious support of the Democrat Party. Unfortunately, it shouldn't have taken the targeting of officers in the field to wake them from their stupor, but better late than never.
Again, union 'leaders' won't suffer by their recommendations on how you vote, but know this for sure, you will.

Cerberus Loots Bankrupt Airline's Health Care Account

"The pilot who went into a coma contracted H1N1 on Dec. 29, 2013 while ferrying military supplies across the Pacific. He spent much of the next three weeks in a medically induced coma. When he emerged from the coma, some smaller claims were paid, but his larger claims -- $2 million -- were denied."

Dirt bags be dirt baggin. I don't see a story about the resolution, they did go back and meet the contractual obligations, after a public shaming by Hoffa Jr. Sometimes it helps to have a platform.

Back when Hillary Care was being proposed, there were doctors beginning to talk about unionizing. It was funny watching the politicos asking, "But why?"

The implied bias of how a union member votes, ...

I've been a member of a union for nearly 30 years, not because I want to but because it was required as a condition of employment for some jobs. That changed a few years ago and union membership became optional. The interesting part with people bailing on the union was that when a particular site dumped the union, most employees got large pay cuts and lost benefits and got far worse medical coverage. Why? Because everything they had was tied to a union contract. Employers fucked them over, as you would expect. No employer does anything meaningful for their employees out of the good of their hearts, only idiots think like that.

When you go to most job sites, the workers are probably 70% Republican, gun owning, conservatives and 30% outright communist fucktards. The union leadership ignores this fact and it does create problems. Most union guys work for a union that is openly trying to fuck them over, take away their gun rights and end their hunting rights and raise their taxes. When you go to a union meeting or convention and ask the union communists to stop supporting this shit, they refuse. The problem is that most working people need the jobs and benefits so they are forced to work around their beliefs and support them at home.

Unions fuck their members based on one principle. As long as they cop hating, antigun, anti-white, high tax, fuck your property rights left wing asshole supports unions......................................they support them.

The problem is that politics has become so polarized that there is no such thing as a gun rights democrat or a union supporting Republican anymore in this country. There is a set of anti-American communist party beliefs and the leftist politician is required to blindly support 100% of them and the Republicans are the exact same way.

A moderate, middle of the road person has no one they can support in the political world and every fucking politician is a god damned lying sack of shit who will say anything from August to November every other year to get elected then fuck over every voter who supported them.

I voted for a Democrat once in my life, only one candidate and only one time and that will be the only time.

never believed in unions even when I was paying dues to a smuck in a Cadillac .

Never been a part of a union, but I mostly agree.

Known a few members over the years. Two stand out. The first was a co-worker from "up north." When a union tried to infiltrate the company we worked for, he spent much of his spare time telling others about his union experiences (we voted it down). The second was an real nice guy from PA. Once heard him say, "Votin's easy. The union give ya a list." He also believed no one "needed" anything other than a 12ga pump and a "thuty-thuty."

The interesting part with people bailing on the union was that when a particular site dumped the union, most employees got large pay cuts and lost benefits and got far worse medical coverage.

How much of that is driven by headlight installers making 35 percent more than the average American wage?

Unions are nothing more than a money laundering operation for politicians. They've come a long way from Matewan.

Teachers Union
Gov't. employee Union
USPS Union

Protecting employees who are otherwise unfit for productive workforces.
