At a $1650 premium over ZCO, I will wait to see what some of our tier 1 reviewers say. I believe Ilya is going to do a side by side

They all have to advertise the same MAP. If you want a better price call Jason and ask instead of whining about the price that all of the dealers have to use, and most manufacturers in this industry implement.

You seem to mistakenly think this is my first rodeo wanting to get a scope and calling around to see who is able to give me the best landed price.
I will of course be calling Jason among others.

Interesting. Also I just searched the forums for any updates on the ZCO 840 and saw that 2 owners recieved and already sold brand new, state of the art ZCO840s. Anyone have input on the brand new 840s and why new owners are getting rid of them?

The 3xrfine would be expected first and then JTAC. With the delay, delivery of both should be similar and in the next 4-6 weeks at last check.

Not sure why but the one I had a chance to look through for a couple of hours produced a darker image than my 5-27 when set above 30X. It is also hellishly long compared to the 5-27.

I was not a fan to be honest.

Interesting. How did it compare at 27x? I'm very curious to hear if these 7-35x's outperform the 5-25x's at magnifications like 17-22x?

I think it was still darker at 27X than the 5-27 is.

I am a HUGE fan of the ZCO 5-27 but felt the 8-40 had a few issues that would prevent me from buying one including:
  1. Lower elevation adjustment. I hear you can get more out of it but the 5-27 wins
  2. Dark image above 30X.
  3. Length
To really be honest, I like my NF 7-35 better than the ZCO 8-40.

I don’t think you can predict the performance of the TT 5-25 to the TT 7-35. We will have to wait until they’re in the wild. I am debating on what to put on my new TacOps rifle when it shows up in a few months. Hopefully, the TT 7-35 and the new version ZCO 5-27 will both be available by then.

What a time to be watching this... the new TT's, the new ZCO, and that new S&B, and probably others that I don't know about ... competition does great things for innovation (although prices are crazy high).

Forgot about the S&B! That is also on my list.

As you said, a good time to be looking for a scope.

I had 2 ZCO 8-40,s .

Totally agree on your comments above 30x... it also gets VERY VERY soft in the upper range of powers. IMO the 5-27 is vastly superior.

The S&B 6-36,s i have currently are totally the opposite , and remain VERY clear and sharp at the top end of the power range.

IMO... the NF 7-35 is optically much better than the ZCO 8-40..

This seems to be the consensus unfortunately with the 8-40. Seems like there are very few 8-40's in the wild but I think ILya is trying to get one for his big alpha review coming soon; however, based on a few that have had them here, unless ZCO is quietly changing the optical formula (not entirely unusual for a mfr to do), I am guessing his results will mimic that of yours and Nik's...
