Chinese Balloon

So if this is a spy balloon, how is it sending information back to China via satellite? Via radio signals? Do you mean to tell me that we cannot intercept the signals that it would be sending back to China and decode the information it is sending back to China? The logical questions are not being asked let alone answered.

The hotshot model rocketry guys could take that thing out if they are allowed to. Only issues are aiming and guidance and directional adjustment thrusters.

China is literally playing the Chinese national elementary school pasttime called 'torment the retarded kid' with Biden right now. They KNOW that mofo won't do shit and doesn't dare do shit. If Trump is in office right now, that balloon would have long ago been brought down, and it's components taken apart, penises drawn all over them, and mailed right back to them via Fedex's cheapest freight option, boxes stained with urine by the time they get on the plane.

Man, amatuer rocketry has come a long way since the 60's when we used to order Estes Industries rocket kits,

Thanks for that link. Brought back a lot of memories. IIRC, we had to use a car battery to power our launches. Looks like they now have a hand held ignitor.

Probably using a narrow beam to thier own satellite so we'd need a bird very close by to capture that signal.
I'd be surprised if they didn't have some encryption we can't break.

Biden and Milley are working with them, so this is an entirely moot discussion anyway.

If I lived by that place I would poach the shit out of it at night and sleep like a baby during the day.
They’d probaly be able to get all local state and fed resources to catch you.

We know that the Chinese have been playing with bioweapons (Wuhan)......balloons would be a cost effective and easy way to infect an entire continent if they wanted to. The Japanese used balloons to deliver incendiary bombs on American soil during WWII.

I'm hoping that it's just weather research, but I won't be surprised to hear reports of 'strange illness' anywhere in the flight path of the balloon.

If I was president, I'd tell the pentagon they had 30 minutes to figure out a plan to high-altitude parachute soldiers onto that thing to investigate. Then their mission would be to poke a few holes in it and ride it to the ground like Captain Jack Sparrow in the first Pirates of the Carribean.

The bigger question is, in the age of today's tech, W T F could CCP want to suspend from a balloon that is the size of several school busses???????????????????

Just spread a rumor that Trump is using it to hide classified documents or unreported income, they'll shoot that booger down in a heartbeat!

P.S. - I wish I bad the talent to show Hunter Biden ring in a lawn chair, snorting cocaine, and shredding documents.

Chinee claimed it, say it was a weather baloon.

China has claimed the balloon flying over the U.S. as its own. Here's everything you need to know.

China has claimed responsibility for the balloon spotted over Montana, apologizing and stating it was used for weather research.
“The airship is from China,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement Friday morning. “It is a civilian airship used for research, mainly meteorological, purposes. Affected by the Westerlies and with limited self-steering capability, the airship deviated far from its planned course.
“The Chinese side regrets the unintended entry of the airship into U.S. airspace due to force majeure. The Chinese side will continue communicating with the U.S. side and properly handle this unexpected situation caused by force majeure.”
The Pentagon announced Thursday that a surveillance balloon it believed belonged to China was floating over Montana. The news came days before Secretary of State Antony Blinken was set to arrive in Beijing, the highest-ranking member of the Biden administration to visit the superpower. Following China’s statement, Bloomberg reported that Blinken was postponing his trip.

About the balloon

At a briefing Thursday, the Pentagon said the balloon had been observed via multiple methods for a number of days, including piloted aircraft. A senior defense official said the balloon wasn’t shot down over concerns about the damage that could cause. CNN reported that the balloon was the size of three buses.
“We did assess that it was large enough to cause damage from the debris field if we downed it over an area,” the official said. “We had been looking at whether there was an option yesterday over some sparsely populated areas in Montana. But we just couldn’t buy down the risk enough to feel comfortable recommending shooting it down yesterday.”
Montana is home to one of the country’s three nuclear missile silos, located at Malmstrom Air Force Base. The official added that it was unlikely the balloon could provide additional surveillance data versus what China could get from a low altitude satellite and that it didn’t pose a significant danger to the area in its current state, flying above commercial airline routes.

"weather research".......

The reason they don't want to shoot it down is the 3 school bus loads of CRISPR bio weapons that will interact with anyone who has been exposed to COVID. Chinas final solution. It's probably squirting it out slowly in the atmosphere as we speak.

So our”smart” phones were all made in China . As well as all of our computers microchips etc…. But we are supposed to worry about a “Chinese balloon” or a Chinese app (TikTok). LOL. Only the sheeple believe this nonsense .

One of the US balloons is drifting eastward across the Mississippi night sky at 22kts

(Just to get a working familiarity with high altitude balloons)

Winds aloft vary in speed and direction. My guess is the balloons adjust altitude to catch favorable winds.

From a practical standpoint, aside from potentially being able to sniff out low level RF signals, the loitering optical and IR detection capabilities would make it easy to detect anyone on the ground, especially moving. Weather permitting, of course. For example over the missile fields they could check all sorts of things, security patrols, shift changes, things that get guards attention and things that don't (wouldn't be surprised if CCP confederates on the ground were subtly probing during overflights. No bueno.

Will be interesting to see if their second balloon is identical or optimized for something else.

I seem to recall at an altitude of 60k feet, the balloons can 'see' and 'hear' several hundred miles in any direction. Area underneath would yield the clearest pictures and strongest radio signals. Multiple balloons can triangulate.
Great... right over me right now!

Chinese spy balloon: Why the US didn't shoot it down

I took a quick peek at the corporate governance of NewNationNow, which is the rebranded WGN superstation from Chicago. i think was used by Xfinity to replace OANN as the 'conservative' news outlet.

Specifically, I like to look at the top dogs' political donations. Chairman and CEO donations include: Romney, Ryan, McCain, Liz Cheney (2021) and others:

Geoff Armstrong - board (Capstar, other companies) : Biden, Cornyn, Beto, Schumer, Obama, etc (multiple homes in Austin, Park City etc)

Bernadette Aulestia (Director) Hillary, Biden, Booker, etc

Dennis Fitzsimmons (Director) Rahm Emmanuel, McCain, Kinzinger, Mitt Romeny, Kamala, etc.

https://www.opensecrets.org/donor-lookup/results?name=DENNIS+FITZSIMONS

And so on throughout the list. Bottom line is a news organization goes where the top dogs' want it to goz so have to consider NewNationOne/Nexstar as yet another tainted swamp source. Not to say they don't occasionally have legit news, but on anything political, they're just another brick...

Local NewNationNow is swamp, former ABC hack runs it: https://www.newsnationnow.com/author/michael-corn/

With that in mind, current NewNationNow coverage (China says nothing to see here)

(Not meant as a harangue, just the daily rant on how news media is generally incestuous and distrustful.)

For those in Alabama/Georgia/Florida, one of our balloons is currently drifting SE over Anniston AL, if you want to try out your Binos to take a gander:

63-64k feet

Might be handy to get a feel for what to look for.

Would be interesting to see if it shows up on thermal against the cold sky (mighty small target)

Tripod would help

PRC should have just requested Hunter Biden get the info they want.

There has to be other ways to bring these balloons down besides shooting them with missiles or guns out of aircraft like dragging some kind of wrecking device behind a C-130 and let it fly into these balloons.

At 70,000 feet?

Media reporting......useless as ever;

I wonder if any of the einsteins in the military or the media ever thought about where the bloody thing may have LAUNCHED from ? (maybe I missed it.....)

Cant find story now as this is changing by the minute.

China urged us to "use caution" and not do anything hasty. Remind me again, why China tells us what to do in our airspace? Those bitches get itchy about tawain and fly a craft into our airspace?

That'll be 1 aircraft carrier sunk in retalitation. And an apology from them for making us sink it. Bunch of pussies in charge.

SHOOT IT DOWN FUCKERS

Now settle down. Anthony Blinken just cancelled his trip to Beijing this weekend in protest. Blinken has broken out the Brass Knuckles and is busy showing them who's the boss........ :ROFLMAO:

No worries! The balloon is only seeding the atmosphere with the newest version of the china flu. We will all be in lockdown just in time for the 2024 elections. Then again, maybe the balloon is delivering the latest batch of ballots for the election.

Odds n ends

With caveats:

Scroll through to balloon parts. Out of his expertise, but the graphical interpretation of flights here and abroad is good (Skyglass if you want to see same on your box) People forget these balloons expand as they rise into less dense atmosphere. Shooting it down doesn't drop an object " the size of three buses" down on unsuspecting farmers.

Caveat emptor
