At one point during a game, the coach called one of his 9-year-old baseball players aside
And asked, "Do you understand what cooperation is? What a team is?"
"Yes, coach", replied the little boy.
Do you understand that what matters is whether we win or lose together as a team?"
The little boy nodded in the affirmative.
"So," the coach continued, "I'm sure you know, when an out is called, you shouldn't argue,
curse the umpire, or call him an asshole. Do you understand all that?"
Again, the little boy nodded in the affirmative.
The coach continued, "And when I take you out of the game so that another boy gets a chance to play,
it's not a dumb-ass decision or that the coach is a shithead is it?"
"No, coach."
"Good", said the coach. "Now go over there and explain all that to your grandmother.”

I remember three new family cars when I was growing up. I'm currently 60.
1. White '64 Valiant, slant 6, 3 on the tree.
2. Blue '67 Belvedere 2dr. 318, AT. Beautiful car.
3. Green '71 Fury, 318, 4dr. A tank with effortless steering and touchy brakes.

I don't remember my Fury being touchy on brakes. But I do remember it took like 3 miles to get it from 117mph to 119mph. My friends gave me a lot of shit for my ugly car but they loved that we could load like 7 people in a 2 door car comfortably.

My grandma bought a 66' Catalina identical to this in 1968 and owned till she died Sept. 11th 2011. We always thought it was some slow turd. It was the car that came and picked us up from school when we were sick or when she visited the farm.

I asked to drive it at 16yrs old cuz I wanted to compare it to my pile. HOLY FUCK that 389 could roll the tires with just a tap of that thin ass gas pedal.

Found out my GM master mechanic uncle, Roger swapped it over to a four barrel carb and intake and ported the heads when he did a rebuild for grandma. He did it on a lark. Totally quiet as a field mouse.
