After reading essentially all the shot show threads on multiple forums, I've seen it mentioned that Leupold will be releasing the mk5's in the tan/fde. I don't recall a time frame for the release though. Does anyone here in the know have a solid time for that release? I need another mk5 but would like to grab tan instead for this season. Hopefully they aren't too far out.

The 5-25x military version for the Mk22 is FDE. Let me ask my Leupold contacts. Love the matching Badger mount, but have already been told "not now."

Maybe they will give us more illuminated reticle choices than T3 and TMR with the tan. I can pretend haha.

I just want a pr2 mil 5-25 I don't even care about illumination. And preferably like before summer.
 
The 6GT's MK 5 arrived this evening. All black. Would have liked tan, but an FFP with a PR2 MIL trumps any other other option. That's what I have.
 
I was told by Leupold at Range Day (not the influencer one) there would be FDE Mark 5's and just assumed (my fault) I would see them at the booth so didn't ask any more questions.

I shoot for leupold and asked my contacts there and their official statement as of this post is:

“there are no plans or release dates at this time” for FDE scopes for civilian sales

That's interesting considering other sources say otherwise.

What about the PR2 reticle in the 3.6-18

Seriously. Does anyone have any insight on this? Seems like they’d sell so many more scopes with an illuminated pr2.

I really liked my mk5 but couldn’t use it during deer season when most of my shots end up at last light when they come out to feed. Had to put on an XTR3i for those few weeks.

Hah! I legit had the same thing happen, had a buck poke his head out of a shadowed treeline and completely lost the reticle in the branches behind him. Sold my Mk5 a couple months ago and just picked up an XTR3i. Glass isn't quite as nice but it's passable (and plenty good enough for the price), and the illuminated SCR-2 is miles better.

Mk5 unit sales would probably only increase slightly, but Leupold would upsell illumination to many of the current/future PR2 owners

Details on the new models are on the website now...MIL reticle options on the 3.6-18 suck. No idea why they thought Tremor 3 only was the way to go?

The tan looks good, but I don't see a pr2 reticle in the 3.6-18 like I was told exists/will be coming out. I sure hope it is coming out at some point and just isn't on their site yet.

I don’t see how they wouldn’t do this illuminated. A TON of folks are asking for it. I called today to ask that very question and the rep told me what’s online is what they offer.

Well it took them a little while to add the pr2 from the initial fde additions, so maybe it will come eventually.
