Coup De Grâce, New Action from American Rifle Company, $899 WOW!

300NM is a very low running caliber and the reamer we have for it is setup for custom throating, so I don't offer it as a drop down selection because most folks want to shoot a specific bullet and it involves the custom throating. It's something that has a high tendency to become a boomerang when the order is placed online without a conversation.
Same info that I was just looking for. I’ll call you tomorrow about that. Thanks

Just to confirm, this has savage small shank threads? (even though the print isn't out yet and forgetting the cone breach for a second) trying to see if my current spare savage small shank barrel will fit until I get my shouldered barrel in. I don't mind single feeding for now

Anyone interested in a swept bolt handle for the CDG should email Arc.I did and they responded there has been a lot of interest in one. Also they added a note to my order and would include it if one’s available at time of shipping. We got a chance

Taking advantage of the barrel pre-order. Awesome! I just need to figure out a chassis.

Never ran a 6CM before but that's where I am leaning. Something fun to go out and whack steel with :)

I ordered a lefty one. Feels like I just submitted my Form 4 waiting on my tax stamp. The 12 month wait begins 😔
Is that what the wait time is for the left hand actions, a year? I've been looking back through all this data to find that estimate lol. I need a lefty long which is at the back of the production schedule on the bottom so to speak. If they start running. LH LA in a year, I consider that a win

Emailed them as well, thank you for the heads up

The CIP long action mag for the 338 Lapua/300 Norma family is different than that for the 300 WM family. Both mags will work in the long action Coup.

Non-CIP lengths mags will probably work as well so long as your chassis or stock is designed for them. Our long action Xylo chassis is designed for CIP length mags only.

The current short action Coup is a target action and will not work with BDL boxes. A lightweight hunting option is forthcoming and will be tested with BDL boxes. We'll know how well it works or doesn't after testing.

Accurate Mag makes short action mags for the WSM and SAUM family of cartridges that will work with the short Coup. https://accurate-mag.com/shop/magazines/300-winchester-short-magnum-dssf-magazine/

Frame of the Hawkins short action DBM in will interfere with the trigger hanger, said frame can be modified to provide clearance without difficulty.

Ted
Will the long actions (not the future lightweight version ) take bdl bottom metal?

I have a TT Diamond on my Archimedes set below 2 pounds (probably 1.5 ish) with no issues.

Will the bix n Andy and tt diamonds be ok with the pivoting bolt if they are set around 2 lbs and kept out of the ounces range ?
I believe but don’t quote me, that is the reason for the adjustable trigger hanger. So it can be tuned.

He has not told me either way. The print that I reviewed yesterday had different angles based on the cartridge and case head. I advocated against that approach.
Is Ted getting too rainman, mad scientist? :ROFLMAO:

Asked ARC for the bolt diameter on the short action CDG so that I could source a bore guide. Below is their response.

The bolts are 20.8mm in diameter and the receiver bore is 21mm. I don't know of a specific manufacturer that makes them in that size. You could try Dewey. Also, the Ruger American Rifle uses a similar bolt diameter, which they advertise their Universal Bore guide will fit.

Possum Hollow's bore guid chart won't load. Anyone know of a source?

If not, I may have PMA Tool make one:

Those dimensions would be handy for Mike Lucas, I totally forgot about ordering a bore guide.

I’d order a Lucas as soon as he has specs.Hopefully he already has them when i order

Thankfully I kept my last Lucas rod insert so all I would need is the bore guide itself.

Just ordered my PVA Barrel for the CDG. Super excited! This is my first precision rifle I'm building from the ground up.
Barrel Specs:
30 cal Osprey
308 Winchester
18" Proof Competition profile
5/8x24 threaded.

@bohem

Went to order a 6GT barrel for the CDG and can't get a stainless option. Any chance y'all will be back in stock soon? I'm itching to secure my place in line. It wouldn't be fun to have a new action and no barrel to spin on.

I just went and counted out inventory. There are (6) unspoken-for 6mm blanks in SS left. Website inventory is updated. I have more blanks in process but they're at least about a month away from completion so when these 6 are gone, they're all dried up.

Do you have any .257 barrels?

IF these are taken before the tenon is out, if someone places an order ad they have to wait on these new 6mm blanks, will they still be able to get on the free brake deal?

Hmm do I get a 6 ARC barrel or do I convert my Defiance instead?

We are waiting on one more barrel to come in so we can verify the conical breach configuration. As soon as we have it we will release the barrel drawing.

While everyone in the shop is busy making action parts Ted has been busy on a open top/lightweight design of the Coup De Grâce. I think you guys will love it.
That's one I might be up for, pending how the LA I have on order turns out.

If it would have a new name, I propose the "Archangel"....or "ARC ANGEL"

Yes we have Osprey 7 twist 257’s

@bohem Looking to build my kid her first on a CDG. Which profile at 18inches will be lighter a 3B or light palma?

Probably not as the free brake deal goes only until I have the final print from ARC.

Ted sent me a print last evening for review and it’s getting close. I will give a 24h notice on what’s in stock when the final print arrives.

I sent you an email at PVA regarding a 300 NM barrel pre-order.
Thanks

Does anyone know what the scope base hight will be? Wondering if i can buy rings or if i have to wait till i have barreled action in hand. Have a scope with a 56mm od objective and 34mm tube.

  1. Calculation in inches: (Top Rail height in relation to top of the barrel + Ring Height) - (0.5 x Outside Bell diameter) (edited)
    EX: (0.315 + 1) - (0.5 x 2.5) = .052

Positive numbers mean it'll fit. negative means you'll need taller rings. I'm sure there is a print for how tall the top rail is.

Yup, just havnt seen a print or anything to be able to do that math.

I wonder it the 6 o'clock lug would work with ar-15 magazines for the 223 and similar calibers? COAL would be restricted, but mags are plentiful. Does anyone make an ar15 dbm besides PT&G?
