I am getting encouraged and I can roughly predict ... maybe ... when I'll get approved.
If I post a prediction date, the gods will curse me.

6/7/22 RC2 and waitingJust joined the forum.
I have a Surefire SB2 suppressor in AFT jail since 6-10-2022. I am at 250 days so hopefully in the next couple of weeks I will be able to pick it up. Did a single shot trust with Silencer Shop and used eForm 4.
So that is 272 days.Well today was the day boys.
Nomad-L
Certified 5-20-2022
APPROVED 2-15-2023
Certified a Nomad -LTi while I was there too.
So that is 272 days.
On a form 4 that is because the record is on the FFL's account, not yours. You will get an email with a final disposition (approved/rejected etc.) I think if you do a form 1 it will be on your account because you are technically making the gun, but I could be wrong. On the ATF E Form site, there is nothing populated for Submitted/In Process. I did get the automated emails when I completed the process with the FFL, back in August. Has anyone else tried getting information off the site?
And so we begin again…
Just certified my new Hydro-S 6.5mm in FDE finish.
Just an FYI for those interested, FDE is currently not a factory available color option on the Hydrogen cans (maybe available later? ), but Andrew had one done as a prototype color test, and it was still brand new and laying around the shop… And long-story short, now I have it.
If y’all prefer FDE over black cerakote, let the OCL guys know on their IG page, and they might start offering the Hydros in FDE as a factory option?

Given that my Nomad-LT and Hydrogen-L 7.62 are almost identical, I’d guess the Nomad-Ti and Hydro-S 7.62 would be nearly identical also.Just kidding .... that's cool. I've kept all mine black or Ti but I like the fde. Be interested to see how that can compares to my Ti Nomad cans in the tone depart
Given that my Nomad-LT and Hydrogen-L 7.62 are almost identical, I’d guess the Nomad-Ti and Hydro-S 7.62 would be nearly identical also.
That being said, Andrew said that during his sound meter testing, the shorter Hydrogen-S 6.5mm (7” can) performed nearly equally to the .30 caliber Hydrogen-L (9” can) on the same exact 6.5 rifle back-to-back. So apparently with the 6.5mm version, you can save 2” in length (better for hunting), and get equal sound performance to the 9” cans, when used on a 6.5mm (or smaller) bore rifle.
I haven’t had a chance to shoot it yet, as I didn’t have my KeyMo for it 2 weekends ago, and was out of town all last weekend, but I plan to shoot it this weekend. And will do some comparison videos.
Just did this. Unfortunately had to withdraw and resubmit. What happens if you move to another state while you're waiting?
Once your e-file is approved can the dealer transfer it to another dealer for you (presumably for a fee)?
If you can do a NICS check to buy a handgun in a few minutes then you can either approve or disapprove a suppressor in the same time frame. This is such BSBefore Efile my last paper trust was 8 months, one before was 18. Efile has not speeded things up and I believe it's from the amount of forms being filed.
Yeah the reg polonium is what I want but no one has em
I too use Capitol Armory. Unless you intend to pick it up (when the stamp arrives) You will have to have a local (to you) FFL to receive it from CA. Shop around for the best transfer price. I've seen $100 down to $35.I got the OCM5. Purchased directly through Capitol Armory so I assume it stays in Texas until approved. I have about a dozen other cans so I can wait til it’s out of jail to shoot it. My local shop would’ve charged a hefty form3 transfer fee since they aren’t OCL dealers so I opted to have Capitol handle the whole thing. I can and have had conjugal visits at my local dealer in the past though.
Otter Creek Labs Polonium - Capitol Armory

ELEMENT 84

The Otter Creek Labs Polonium, at it's core, is a hard use 5.56 suppressor. It doesn't fall into the "durability above all else" categorywww.capitolarmory.com
OCL - Polonium 5.56 Duty Suppressor - Black
The polonium is made to be a quiet, duty rated, hard use, 5.56 suppressor. Just as much at home on a mk18 getting hammered with heavy strings of fire as it is on a DMR/SPR set up where ultimate suppression is the goal.www.bauer-precision.com
I’d just have them shoot it over to your local FFL on a Form 3, and then do your paperwork through your local dealer and Silencer Shop. That’s what I do. That way it’s nearby, and if your local spot has a range, then you can be enjoying while waiting.Awesome! So is there a better way to do it with capitol armory or should I just send it to my ffl sot and efile with them?
He doesn't have a range but he will let me test fire at hos place into his test fire barrel to hear itI’d just have them shoot it over to your local FFL, that way it’s nearby, and if your local spot has a range, then you can be enjoying while waiting.
Even in a test barrel you’ll be amazed at how good it sounds. He doesn't have a range but he will let me test fire at hos place into his test fire barrel to hear it
I have been a customer of CA for several years. Pricing is usually pretty good. Set up an account. Send them pics and prints and your info and they will keep them on file. You buy a can and ask them to do the paperwork. You’ll DocuSign them and they’ll call you to finalize the ATF stuff. They will file it.Awesome! Isn’t one.Anyone have a discount code for capitol armory?

Three ways to you from there.
FFL
Pick up at CA
Ship to you( if legal)
Call CA and they will tell you their needs and discuss the process. Very nice people to work with. GL
The $$$ are paid when you buy the item. Buy it from CA—pay them. Buy from an FFL— pay them. Either way Uncle Sam’s hand is in your pocket.Yeah I'm tempted to just do that for the future. I've only heard great things. I've never had any issues with SS but since I already have the stuff there, I should be able to get it from them and send it to CA. I will give them a shout tomorrow and talk to them before I buy then. It shows a 200 form 4 fee in my cart when I went to pay but I was going to send it to my ffl it would be a form 3 wouldn't it?
That's what my latest one was as well as the one before that and honestly I think they have all been right there at 10-11 months. I have like 6 or 7 ish.... and they have all been that way. Paper, efile, form 1, form 4..... doesn't matter for me. 10/11 months is what I will wait.Just picked up my suppressor. About 10 months on a form 4

BTW- the CA process works very well for trusts. The keep a copy on file and it gets sent to ATF by CA.
Form 4 is between you and the ATF (when you buy it). Form 3 is dealer to dealer. (Nothing there for you)Yeah I know they will get their money, I just didn't understand the form4 if it was going from one dealer to another but as long as the tax stamp is paid thats fine by me.
Oh ok, I thought I would have to do the form 4 at my sot, I didn't realize they could file that and then send it to my dealer or are you saying that would be for them to file the form4 and then send it to me?Form 4 is between you and the ATF (when you buy it). It looks like you’re in Alabama? If so, Capitol Armory can ship directly to your house upon approval of the form4, so there’s no need for a form3 transfer to any SOT in your state. That does mean you won’t get a conjugal visit with your can while you wait though.Oh ok, I thought I would have to do the form 4 at my sot, I didn't realize they could file that and then send it to my dealer or are you saying that would be for them to file the form4 and then send it to me?
It's just as simple to keep your stuff at SS, and have your local SS dealer get it transferred to them on Form 3, and then when it arrives, have them add it to your SS profile for registration, and start the pre-cert info. Then once pre-cert is done, you do your cert, and boom, you're waiting. It's super simple.Oh ok, I thought I would have to do the form 4 at my sot, I didn't realize they could file that and then send it to my dealer or are you saying that would be for them to file the form4 and then send it to me?
There is lots of good advice on here. Buying a can seems daunting but it really isn't that difficult. There are lots of places to purchase one from. Individual dealers (LGS), Silencer Shop, Silencer Central, Capitol Armory, etc etc etc. Some sell only their products while others offer many different brands and sizes. Much is the same no matter where you purchase. I am a customer service type of guy. Bad cs- no buy, good cs and I am willing to go back to the well. You pay, the paperwork gets done, and then you wait (+ wait +wait..). 'Stamp' arrives. Can comes to you. I like the simplicity of someone else doing the paperwork for the ATF and getting it all submitted.Oh ok, I thought I would have to do the form 4 at my sot, I didn't realize they could file that and then send it to my dealer or are you saying that would be for them to file the form4 and then send it to me?

Its like sex. The more you do it, the better you get at it!
Sorry. Didn't say it very well before. Form 3s are the forms that makers and dealers must use to transfer the items between each other. A Form 4 (paper or eform) is the form between the purchaser and the ATF. With your info in their system CA will fill in all the blanks on the 4473, collect your $$ (buy+ the $200), and efile it for you.Yeah I have 8 cans now(and one in jail for another 10 months I will guess) so I'm familiar with the process, I just haven't ever bought one from capital armory. I've always been able to buy cans that either one of 2 local dealers had in stock, or that SS had and sent to my local dealer, who is a SS kiosk dealer. The only thing I didn't get was why CA would put a can on a Form4 to send it to my dealer vs a Form3, then my dealer doing the Form4 for me.

But they are who I have used for far too many cans!! There are others but I like them. Great CS
@PewPewOn a form 4 that is because the record is on the FFL's account, not yours. You will get an email with a final disposition (approved/rejected etc.) I think if you do a form 1 it will be on your account because you are technically making the gun, but I could be wrong.
