Just saw this announced. Aren't these the guys that tried to market a copy of the Anvil awhile back? Though I see it's no longer on the leofoto USA webpage but still on leofoto.com.

They admit right then and there that their business model is to make cheap copies of other people's designs without regard to IP rights.

Why would anyone partner with shitbags like that.

Honestly this is gross 🤮
People buying chicom crap cause that's what they can afford or choose to buy is their own business but the largest precision rifle league partnering with them is pretty shameless.

I'm guessing Lefoto was willing to kick in some serious money and the other brands were like, WTF we don't need to pay you that kind of money, we have a good brand going and anyone with real money will buy our stuff.

It's always been to a large extent about the money with PRS, so this should be no surprise.

I'd suggest it's a big nothingburger.
The folks that were going to buy cheaper stuff will do so and feel good about it.
The folks that prefer to buy much higher end stuff will continue to do so and feel good about it.
The ones running PRS will be happy with a bunch of money.
Chinese company feels all happy about being "official sponsors" because they think it means something.

remember

Daniel Defense was the "official rifle of PRS"...with a whipping maybe what 3 total shooters having used them in any PRS match ever

All true, I'm sure it's all about the $$$. Heck I like saving $$$, but it's a sad statement on PRS to partner with a company that obviously is ripping off USA made products.

Saw these on ebay and thought they looked a lot like an anvil. They even have the inverted leg tripod now also.

I really want that setup from rrs but for occasional hunting use and shooting in the back yard I can't really swing the rrs price.

That's greasy! Greed, plain and simple. Some Chi Com shit company that blatantly copies other companies hard work and ingenuity. I would be embarrassed.

I'll agree that it's a nothingburger with regards to your 4 last points, no question there.

However it's honestly quite pathetic that an organization like the PRS would accept money from some chicom company like Leofoto and in turn promote their products. What's next, being sponsored directly by the PLA? They could be the "official army of the PRS" :ROFLMAO: Or maybe they could diversify and bring in some money from the IRGC as well? It just shows an absolute lack of character, as far as I'm concerned.

This is one of their sponsors

@Cascade Hemi Respectfully, I am not going to speak for them or share my thoughts after conversations with them.

In the end, I’m going to support the shooters and the sport since it’s fun.

If you guys want a straight answer from the source ask them! They have a webpage, social media channels, and I’m willing to bet a Hide forum account.

On another note with the current political tides, chicom goods might end up being very difficult to obtain or as expensive as better quality equipment. Either of these scenarios should lead most consumers to other non chicom goods

I think their trying to buy some brand legitimacy in the eyes of the precision rifle guys.

$50k buys a lot of ball heads

the official whatever is not a cheap prospect, they get top $$$$$ for that title

I actually grabbed a few knock offs this week to look at the other one was broken out of the box, wouldn’t tighten, tried to adjust it and the screw broke. They aren’t worth it

sure the legs work, the heads are another story

At 6'7" I wanted a 2 section but the RRS only goes to a max of 64". The leofoto goes to 70". Most of my tripod use is glassing with binos so the decision was fairly easy. Do I wish it wasn't Chinese made? Sure but it is what it is. The legs have held up great, I've got no complaints. I did put a RRS anvil 30 on it which has been my favorite out of all the RRS tops I've had.

You don’t shoot with them at your head

or is this a case of I wanted the inverted but also I want to spot with my inverted and I’m the exception to the rule at 6’7“ hence they dont apply to me technically speaking so I should probably mind my own business kinda of thinking

excuses make me laugh

He was talking about the 22i I’m pretty sure fwiw

I was.

Debated on a 2 vets QDT and probably should've went that way but it only goes 65" and would've been short for spotting Really wanted to try the inverted legs for no good reason. It's easy to deploy but makes shelves or anything else that attaches to the legs a pain in the ass. Here is the Leofoto with Anvil 30 and RRS Cinch maxed out height wise. There are white marks on the legs for the position I need them for standing shots. Also a pic at a local match just for shits and giggles on the height.
