I'll Start off this new thread with a Photo thread!!. I dove deep into the FX PCP Air Guns in 2022 and have really enjoyed them. Here ar the 3 I currently own. I compete NRL22 & Outlaw matches so far. I have not made it to a PRS RF Match with one yet. I plan to with the Panthera.

Nice pics both of you! Will have to get some pics of mine to add to the thread!

I'm new to the FX line myself as I've been largely on hiatus from air rifles (and particularly PCP) shooting for the last few years. The availability of decent and inexpensive shoebox compressors changed all that and I'm back in the game. The other reason I never owned an FX is that they were never in stock anywhere! (I'm not a preorder and wait type of guy.)
Anyway, I recently grabbed this Wildcat MKIII BT in .25 cal at a local shop as the owner brought it into inventory as part of an order he had placed some 3 months ago. It was lust at first touch! Amazing performance so far. 50 yd one hole groups with JSB Heavies is pretty much the norm.

FX's are like potato chips. This is my second in as many months!
FX Dreamlite in .177. shoots under a dime at 30 yds. Very sweet set up for backyard plinking.

As a competition built AirGun I really like it. I'm thinking about a 600mm 30cal for predator hunting.

I have the Panthera in .22/700mm. FX went and changed their barrel specs (again). The 600/700mm are now called the Superior Slug liners. I was seeing wandering groups with 40gr RBT in .217 out of the box, but the choke mikes out just a tad too large for .217 ammo so to get the utmost precision you really have to size down .218 to .2175 or do a light polish/lap for .218.

The FX Crowns are pretty phenomenal for 50y BR / N50 shooting. I know of several guys shooting consistent cards at 247-248 with them. I've had a couple that I customized / modified to shoot extremely well to 300y with 30 grain ammo. More consistent than any rimfire that I had ever owner.

I'm not a fan of the FX Impact, there's like 55 o-rings in them and that usually translates to unwanted movement under dynamic pressure. I like the FX Maverick though in .30cal. Tuning is very simple and I've setup several TJ barrels in different lengths and a few FX liners for it with a unique barrel support system. There's no harmonic issues that affect accuracy and it never has to be re-zeroed. It's just stupid accurate with a variety of ammo lol

I would be interested to know how you are receiving the 218 slugs and how you lapped the choke on your barrel? I am trying to buy an 800mm barrel to cut the choke out, re crown and test it.

I have found the 217 Javelins shoot great out of mine as well as the 218s. The 218s are 25-30 fps slower but hold the same group size at 100. 217 groups on bottom 6 rounds. 218 group on top for 6 rounds.

Are those AR-style grips compatible with aftermarket AR grips, or do they just look like AR grips?

I’ve got a couple Crown Continuums. Had my .25 for two years and my yellow jacket in .30 about a year. What’s the seal lifespan on these?? I haven’t shot them as much lately as I’ve swung back around to powder burners again. Probably got about 1500 pellets down the tube on the .25 and the .30 has about 300 or so thru it. Ken hicks went through the .30 and opened up the ports and did his full overhaul on it. Just not sure about the seals on them.

As long as you have air in them they should be fine.

I actually don't "own" any of the Fx line, but I play with them on a daily basis at my job. For how many o-rings they have, they are honestly quite easy to work on. There are some cool things coming for the Panthera line as well, that I think many are going to like ;)

I love what you have done with your Maverick!

There is an Fx in there so it counts...right. lol

    EdGun R5M long .25
    EdGun R5M short. 177
    AAA Paradigm .22
    Fx M3 700mm .30
    Anschutz 8002 S2 .177

Just realized that I didn't grab the grandfather out of the safe! Have an older Theoben Rapid MK2 in .25 in the safe as well. Forgot to pull that one out.

The M3 has every modification we have in our shop in and on her. Along with a few that are not avaliable yet. Working on the aluminum mag for NAC next month.

A shot of thr practice from today. Found a nice county road and was able to be blocked from the wind. The snow on the sides are around 5.5' tall. So able to get some good practice in before NAC next month.

Target is 100 yards, looking through the Element Theos it was clear as day and easy to hit.

Can anyone explain the barrel lengths on the Panthera to me? I am a very novice airgunner. I gather they use the area around the barrel as an air chamber or something?

Is there a good way to mount an optic and a thermal clip-on to a Panthera? A NV bridge or available long top rail?

The plenum goes about the outer barrel and there is a spot to mount a pic rail for an nvg or thermal unit.

The barrels are different on the panthera vs say the M3. The ports are different as well as the attachment point is different.

The INTERNAL barrel on the Panthera and the Impact are 100% the same. The FX Impact is a Bull Pup setup with the magazine in the back.

The Panthera is built more like a traditional style rifle. That is what gives it the longer look. My Panthera is just over 54" from tip to tip.

The shrouded area that has M-Lok slots on it out front you can add a Pic Rail to and put your thermal clip on there. Im sure the forearm could also be modified and drilled to move that towards the rear to make the thermal closer to your optic.

Does FX make the rails or are there aftermarket ones? Ideally one would just put a long continuous top rail on the gun and then mount your optic and clip-on wherever suits you. Is that possible?

That is NOT possible for the Panthera. You can do that with the FX Impact and Air Marksman Backbone rail.

The liners for the M3 and the Panthera are the same, it is the transfer port that is different between the two.

There are a few upgrades for the Panthera now, but nothing like the Backbone or anything like that.... yet. I am sure Donny has been working on the Saber side of things to come out with upgrades. I know K&L has a few different options for the back of the rifle as well. So things are slowly coming out for the rifle.

If you are around the NH area next week come on out to the Northeast Airgun Shoot and see what we are all shooting. There will be plenty of FX rifles for you to look at, as well as many others as well.

The FX Panthera .22 cal 700mm has made a final change and appears to be on the good side of the testing. Now if I can only fide a couple of cases of the Gen1 .217 34g slugs someone has in the back of a shelf they forgot about!!!!!
