super trickler

Spun up a funnel for the top, can make the STL available, may work on other parts if anyone is interested.

(^^^Perhaps his biggest failing is that Adam is too emotional/passionate about things.)

It would drive me mad emptying the V3 and the IP and switching plates between powders

Like had been said, it's super easy to change plates but the only time I change is between 1 of 2 plates. All ball type power is one plate and the 4350 type is another but it literally takes like 10 seconds and the IP portion doesn't have any powder stick to it or anything and you can just lift the whole thing put and dump it in the hopper or in your jug so it's easy.

I do get a little aggravated emptying the hopper on the V3 because it takes a little doing to make sure all the little ball powder is completely out, but I kind of have a system down now that make it a lot easier.

The magic in the IP is how precise it is. I mean, zero overthrows is real. I filled 50 cases of 6cm last night and it took me all of 10 min total and not a single overthrow.

The ST looks awesome for the ability to save settings. Once it's fully figures out and they have a gen2 I'm sure I will get one one too. Be nice if they could incorporate a plate type system for the final trickle though. Those plates have advantages that no other system has, and if they didn't have to store powder in the same hopper as the plate they could reduce the size of it and make several plates work inside the machine. That would be the best scenario I think.

in accord with the above, it is the final "topping off" that is the crux of the problem with these systems. IP seems to have it down, I will agree. A spinning or vibrating tube has a lot of inherent random variability that is very very difficult to compensate for. I envision a time in the future where some kind of laser or optical system "sees" the lineup of the kernels and dispenses them accordingly. Until then, IP may be the cat's meow.

If we can get the IP and the ST to just have a baby, we got it whipped.....

I'm my experience, a little booze goes a long way towards the baby making....just say'n

SuperTrickler powder measure stand.
This design can be used independently, or it can be attached to the square SuperTrickler powder bowl (designed by Peter Kowald) that people are 3d printing.
The ring has a small B on what would be the "Back" of the ring. This would be at 12:00 if you were looking down at the ring like a clock.
It has 4 pillars (legs). IMPORTANT: Each pillar is unique!! They need to be positioned on the ring starting with number 1 at the 1:00 position, and working around the ring clockwise in numerical order. The pillars have a small keyway that matches with a cutout in the ring, so when they mate together you know the ring and pillars are in the correct position.
****If you printed the powder bowl with any changes to the x or y dimensions, this will NOT work on your bowl.****

Hey I just noticed all my log data is gone . It doesn’t show me any info . It shows the paper with the corner folder that says log but no info . Did i hit something or did something get screwed up with my last update ?

A few weeks ago but I haven’t used it much befor tonight . I loaded 250rds of 6gt and noticed it didn’t say how many rounds have been thrown correct like it used to . Didn’t know if it was something that can be turned on or off but I can’t find anything like that in the settings and was just wondering if it was like that before I updated it . I don’t remember

I took the pic on the left of a trickler on there Facebook page the one on the right is mine as you notice it’s missing info

Be that as it may, the simplicity and accuracy of the IP is second to none.

Im on the list for a ST but im honestly leaning towards keeping the IP trickler for this reason. The more I use it the more I like it. Im yet to have to wait for it and as stated no overthrows at all.

Once I got familiar with the IP I sold my v4 because it just couldn’t compete speed wise.

99% of my reloading is one caliber and one powder and the simplicity and speed of the IP is where it’s at.

I like simple and the IP seems to have that. But with the V3 out of production, what is the best way to get setup?

I'm considering a ST, but I think the IP suits my needs better.

I'm not really sure. Probably email the IP guys from their web site. Don't be surprised if he responds today, he's super on top of his CS, and has called me on Sundat afternoon before. I would bet he can help you out.

Been checking out some videos since I’m about ready to pull the trigger on a ST. Noticed the powder seams to bunch up in the small tube and dropping multiple kernels at a time. The end of the tube on the Dandy vibrating tricker I have has a V-Channel incorporated into the end lining up kernels nicely. I would think there would be less overthrows if you could get the small tube on the ST to do the same making the final trickle more controllable.

Was wondering if any of you that use the ST have any thoughts on this. Far from a deal killer for me since it’s miles ahead of my current process. Just wanted to throw that out there as food for thought.

There are unlikely to be any hardware upgrades for a while I have it in confidence

Hey does anyone know the difference between the fx120i and the fz120i and which one is better?

I'm having a hard time deciding between a ST and the Ingenuity Precision trickler. For those that have both, do you have a preference? My perception is that the ST is more versatile, but can it hit the desired target weight as consistently as the IP? Speed is less of a concern than hitting the weight spot on.

Thanks

@jimsair I have both - here is my humble opinion , If you had a V3 auto trickler and add an IP to the mix , you would have a great system that works really well, in my infinite wisdom I upgraded to a V4 , sold my V3 , and then realized the limitations - so I added the IP to the V4 mis and it's just ok. You have to calibrate the shit out of it every time you change powder , and you have to screw around with wedges etc - if you throw big powders you have to restrict the bulk pour tube as well , never mind it works ish , the IP made it ok - enter the ST never looked back saved presets x powder x load gr's is brilliant , the wole St thing kicks ass. One of these days the V4 wil be in the PX as will the IP , at the moment its just a standby and is set up for H4350 . YMMV of course!

If you have a V3 to go with the IP then it's very hard to beat unless you really do a lot of different powders regularly. In that case , the ST seems to be where it's at and I think ST folks are happy with the precision it offers. If you are like me and just want it as accurate ad possible the first time every time and only have 3 powders you use regularly (2 of which use the same plate), then the IP is just ideal and really simple to dial in so that it's very fast and literally will not over throw ever. Just depends on what you value more. The ST is definitely very impressive and the way the owners continue to upgrade it and pursue perfection is just awesome. I will definitely own one at some point and likely with a separate scale so I can keep my IP set up too but who knows in this golden age of precision rifle where the next year will take us in the "got to have gear" quest....

I wish I'd kept my V2 upgraded to V3. The ST is way better than the V4, but we seem to be spending more time setting these damn things up than actually loading with them at this point, haha.

I kid (sorta), but the ST is light years better than the V4 in my limited exposure to both. The ability to find the settings you need and save that as a profile which can immediately be called back was worth the change for me.

Don't see anything like that listed on my invoice.
It wouldn't be in the invoice. Sometimes if you buy goods from overseas, customs won't release them to you until you pay additional duties directly to them. I haven't seen it mentioned in these 15 pages here, so I suspect it's a non-issue.

customs sent me a bill for $650 duties AFTER I took delivery of a Stihl 090AV chainsaw shipped from New Zealand by DHL

My understanding is there's a lower limit to what they bother with. ST alone doesn't meet the limit, so no duties; Not sure about ST/scale combo.

SOA

I got a customs bill from UPS FOR $2.00.Ignored it.I payed supertrickler to ship

The threshold for customs duties is $1600. Customs will give you a bill and if you don't pay, they WILL go after you. It's a low hanging fruit, so it's very easy to prosecute.

Hey guys, what order #’s are shipping lately? I’m #1311, ordered on 1/2/2023.
Appears I’m a member here since 2010, bought a DE50AE barrel from someone.
What sold me on the ST was the YT video from F-class John showing the self learning feature.

I am using a v4 and an IP. The v3 is slightly faster, but not worth having to reset the thrower when running ladders.

Others have had issues with the v4, my experience has been good. Now with the IP added, its really good. Plus, I feel like I can repair any part of the setup myself, if ever needed.

that implies that the rate of orders has slowed. What's the highest order number anybody has seen?

I am trying to find additional information on purchasing an ST. But there does not appear to be a way to email them. Does anyone know the cost for the ST101 Gen 2 + FZ-120i? Is there any truth about anything under $1600 thresold there is no duty tax? Just looking for a total cost on this investment, before I purchase one.

If you’re worried about duties just buy the scale from a USA seller. I don’t think I’ve heard of anybody paying duties on ST alone to USA. I didn’t FWIW

Buy the scale from CE Products and the ST direct. Customs will hit you with a bill if they inspect your package or pull the shipping label. Rex answers emails directly if you have any questions: [email protected]

In regards to Customs, this is the law:
E-commerce purchases that are mailed or shipped to the US are granted duty-free entry if they are less than US$1,600 and from an insular possession (IP) country. The same applies to purchases that are less than US$800, and from a Caribbean Basin Initiative (CBI) country or Andean country.

How much are the US import tax and duties?

The amount of import tax and duties to be paid depends on the country that the goods are imported from. Duty tax rates are between 0 to 37.5% with the typical rate being 5.63%. A flat rate of 3% applies to e-commerce purchases that are in excess of the US import tax threshold limits.

I was #952 and it was delivered on March 1st. I was one of the earliest “gen 2s” afaik.

Extremely pleased with it so far, the AI is awesome. My 22GT load using 33.8gr of 4350 is running around 90% success rate and averaging under 8s per charge. It’s honestly easier/faster to throw 1 in every 10 back into the hopper instead of messing with it any further.

Was originally going to buy another one but I can barely keep up with it as-is.

Exactly, the manual also states on page 29:
Do not expect 100% successful charges, unless you want to trade dispensing speed for time. If you were to do 100 charges at no failures, but each charge was 20 seconds, the total time would be 33 minutes and 20 second

Now let’s look at the same scenario if each charge took only 6 seconds, but with a 1 in 10 failure rate. The total time would be 11 minutes, a saving of 22 minutes and 20 seconds. Even if the charge time was 10 seconds, with a 1 in 10 failure rate, the total time would still only be 18 minutes and 20 seconds.

This is a 15-minute saving in time for the sake of a few rejected overshoots. Do not be concerned with a few overshoots if you can save considerable time, but the decision is yours.

I'm also considering ordering a stand-alone super trickler. I assume it comes with the powder cup and scale attachment? Or do I need to purchase those separate? Is anything else needed other than purchasing the FX-120i from whoever has the best price?

I ordered an extra powder cup...
