Where did you purchase, on-line or local store?Update - I just bought a 700 SPS and it's an 8 twist!
Looks good. let us know how it shoots.Pics
I actually went up to 25.5 just to see and it is a hammer. So glad the updated this twist rate, makes for a cheap 700 trainer.25.2 looks pretty awesome!
I had the ADL with 24" barrel on order. But had to cancel since the Jeep needs new 33's I agree it's a cheap trainer with 75 ELDM's. I wanted the sporter for a decent walking stick hunter.I actually went up to 25.5 just to see and it is a hammer. So glad the updated this twist rate, makes for a cheap 700 trainer.
I'm seriously considering purchasing one, do you know how your dealer made sure you ended up with a 1:8 barrel? Phrased differently, if I have my dealer order an R85417 is it guaranteed to be 1:8? I've checked that part number on a bunch of different sites and have seen 1:8, 1:10 and 1:12 all associated with R85417 so I'm hesitant to blindly order one.I bought it from my FFL dealer, who ordered it online. We went back and forth on seeing that there were mixed twist rates. Just make sure you get the ADL or SPS with the new "RA" prefix with the 8 twist.
That "should" work. UPC: 810070680404. But I'd call the supplier and make sure it's new production 1-8" twist. Or confirm via email so you have a paper trail.I'm seriously considering purchasing one, do you know how your dealer made sure you ended up with a 1:8 barrel? Envy is an ugly thing Let us know how it shoots!Ordered an R85417 (UPC 810070680404) from Dahlonega Armory and picked it up the other day, happy to report it's got the barrel I was after. Pleasantly surprised it has the new Timney trigger too.
That was my experience. These new Remingtons hammer.I bought the Remarms 700 ADL 7mm RM 1-8" 26" barrel. Stuffed it in a KRG Bravo and have only 30 rounds of load development done. I've been doing 3 round groups to save on components. I've tested this load out to 800 yards so far. Rings steel pretty hard.View attachment 8268923
Yup I agree. I even had the poorly made bankruptcy Remington shoot well. My buddy's Remington 300 WM Long Range bankruptcy era. It had a gnarly burr on the bolt rails that had to be filed down and smoothed out. I want to say this load was with the 208 ELDM's.That was my experience. These new Remingtons hammer.
