This is the BIG stand. Stand up and be heard loudly! Don't give up, don't give in!

SHB 1240 – Semi Automatic Gun Ban hearing is scheduled!

Senate Democrats are defying the SCOTUS Bruen decision, like the failing laws in NJ, NY, Il, CA, MD.

Wasting your state resources, time and money, to pass an unconstitutional ban on semi automatic rifles, pistols, shotguns and parts!!! They KNOW they won't win in courts, but don't care.

Dear Senators, Stop the virtue signaling and get to work reducing criminal activity.

Log into the hearing today, DO NOT WAIT!!!! Sign in "CON" or leave written testimony. Send to everyone! Like and share, TAG your friends, your gun shops, your ranges.

CRITICAL UPDATE: Log into the State Senate hearing. the mail emails from NRA, GOA and others DO NOT record in the hearing...are they helpful, sure...for sending you donation requests. Log into the hearings with the links provided below.

My response

"I,do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

Although not specifically required by any statute or constitutional provision, you have advised us that it has long been the practice of all legislators, upon assuming office, to take the same oath of office as is prescribed by RCW 43.01.020 for officers of the executive branch of state government. This oath reads, in pertinent part, as follows:

". . . I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution and laws of the state of Washington, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of (name of office) to the best of my ability." (Emphasis supplied.)

I am still bound by my oath long after the end of my active service. To the best of my knowledge, it has not been and will never be rescinded.

As a sitting member of our legislature you are bound by your oath. You can do no less than interpret the recent SCOTUS decision as the court intended.

The Supreme Court recently declared a new standard for Second Amendment jurisprudence, "text, history, and tradition." Established by the 2022 landmark decision, NYSRPA v. Bruen, the text, history, and tradition test now governs laws restricting the right to keep and bear arms – invalidating any gun laws that fail to meet its standard. Anything less is unconstitutional and a violation of your oath as a sitting member of the Washington State legislature.

I strongly urge you to turn your attentions to the root cause of violence, the individual, rather than the legal, lawful, gun owners of Washington State.

So, yeah. Done and done ...

In case you think that a comment from outside our state would have no impact, look no further than the witnesses supporting the ban that the state paraded in front of committees and the house. Not one was from this state

Thank You for giving this a read.

I remember when I-594 was the big stand.

Just move.
Don't just move if you can possibly stay and fight. It's called balkanization and it helps the enemy take over the country. However most conservatives have families they must protect and the best way to do that is to get them to safety. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Banning them is a lot easier than taking them. Sooner or later shit gonna go sideways for somebody. One day the door kickers will shoot a dog, dad, wife and kids. Then shit gonna get real.
That’s the thing. It will be a no knock at 2am, said person grabs a gun cause they don’t know what the fuck is going on when their house gets busted up into, and boom you get shot by 7 people when you were just minding your own biz. But they won’t spin it that way. You will be labeled a terrorist and the POS media will go along with it. Is it entirely the people doing the raids fault? Not exactly cause you have no idea what intel they were fed. But it will be nothing but a blip on the news, they’ll send you off as a terrorist and the world will never be the wiser and you will just be a distant memory, if that. That is until this happens enough times and news spreads before comms/mechanisms could be put in place. But make no mistake I don’t feel as if there isn’t some people out there that will gladly do the evil bidding when called to do so. Actually I know there is. America is not the innocent choir boy many would like you to believe. Many of you here know that. How deep does it go?

Being able to move them to safety is an illusion. Some day they will be an adult and have to function in the world being created for them.

Sadly no it won't. We stood by while the Jan 6 people were arrested at their houses and we talked about it on a forum......

Sadly we are all too comfy right now.

But I also re submitted to testify remotely.

I'm not near there now. But maybe if a bunch of people testify?

What am I saying, they've already decided to pass it...

While I don’t completely disagree with you. It’s the only thing we can do and I sure as hell ain’t gonna do nuthin.
I have a problem with people bitchin non stop, and when you ask them if they vote or contact their legislators they say “nope”. F’ that. Stand up be heard, do what you can. I’ll die on my feet.

Brother. I'd rather let queen latifa shit in my mouth from a hot air balloon that write to my representative, who has been bought and paid for. "All nations before him are nothing, and counted as less than nothing and in vain." I live for God and my family. Not what some elected dipshit tells me I can and cannot own, or what I can and cannot do.

can't wait to see the list of retards in the republican party that support this garbage you know they are going to shine like peed on pennies .

Was in Washington for 14 years. Moved back home to MN in 2020. You are not wrong.
You know whats fucked is how quickly things turned. One session with quadfecta and they've rammed every political priority possible down out throats while Walz claims compromise and they call conservatives 'extremists'. The DFL even unilaterally decided to not just spend the whole $17.5 Billion state surplus but actually spend over it.

So I sat through the senate meeting. 1k testified "yah" via the website. Almost 7k testified "neh" via website. I was in the zoom group to speak and was the last speaker for Bill 1240. I recieved no prompt and was not allowed to speak.

Not that it would have mattered.

Hopefully they hear the people they are supposed to represent. But we know how that goes.

At least you spent the time to try man! That counts for something.

Minnesota guys need to be at the Capital this Saturday before noon. Bring whoever you can. Headcount is everything. No long guns in the capital but sidearms are GTG. I think press conference is at 1130. Rally from 1200-1400.

“There” or “here”, which is it? I thought you moved back “here” in 2020? Minnesota is under full attack from the anti-2A crowd and they’ve got a trifecta in St. Paul so we should all be motivated. Rally at the capital on Saturday. 1130 till 1400.

Hosted by MN Gun Owners Caucus the only real 2a rights organization in Minnesota.

Most of our local gun stores have pulled all of their semi-auto rifles and handguns off the shelves. The bill has passed the house, and is currently in the senate where it will likely pass. If this bill is signed into law the only thing left for them to do is ban possession of them.

Pretty sad really. What about handguns? What about all the people that said they wouldn’t enforce this? I assume there is already a case headed to the USSC to slap this down? Guess they want y’all with muskets. Only a matter of time before those are gone I assume. No pushback? Amazes me that a handful of people can control so many, that goes worldwide.

Like how real everything got after Ruby Ridge?

Keep up the good fight there in WA, but I would seriously consider moving if I were in your position. Look where your taxes are going and what you’re paying for (no state is perfect but you do have a choice)

You guys got to stop with the moving stuff. I feel you but thats a losing strategy. Again, at some point you will run out of places to run.

Moving is not an option. Run and they will
only chase you down. I’m gonna stay put!

I generally agree, but is it really possible for a state like WA to change? There are plenty of other states turning purple who could use more people. Just want to exhaust every option while peace is on the table

I think of moving every day, but part of me doesn't want to just give in. I agree that it is just a matter of time before it is everywhere. The people are not in the wrong here for not going along with these laws. "All laws which are repugnant to the Constitution are null and void." We have a constitutional right to keep and bear "arms," meaning generally the same weapons used by mil/LE. Now the state is starting to interpret the 2A for themselves to exclude "assault weapons" which directly contradicts the intended purpose of the 2A. They do this in the name of public safety, using school shootings, but if they gave a damn about school shootings we would have seen increased funding to the schools for safety. Instead they want to ban gun ownership for the law abiding citizen. It's not about safety, it's about control. I hope this goes to the SC fast and they shut this down. If this passes I believe WA residents will not be able to purchase semi-auto firearms in other states either, as the gun stores have to follow the laws of the person's state of residence.

I also would like to say, contrary to what many would believe, most of your local LEO's are on your side. Many are gun owners themselves and would rather quit than enforce unconstitutional laws. There has also been an increase in red flag orders to surrender firearms. These can be issued by a judge, bypassing due process and before a person is convicted of anything, ordering them to surrender firearms. These have been issued for civil disagreements, divorces, low level crimes, among other things. For some time, LE have been refusing to enforce these orders under the reasoning they are unconstitutional. Now there are judges threatening to hold LEO's in contempt of court and face criminal charges for not enforcing them. My concern is the good ones will leave or be fired, and those spots will be filled by people who are willing enforce them.

https://www.saf.org/second-amendment-foundation-sues-washington-over-semi-auto-ban/

April 25, 2023
BELLEVUE, WA – Responding quickly to the adoption of House Bill 1240 by the Washington Legislature and Gov. Jay Inslee signing it into law, the Second Amendment Foundation today filed a federal lawsuit challenging the new statute on Second and Fourteenth Amendment grounds, and is asking the court for preliminary and permanent injunctions.

The complaint was filed in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. The case is known as Hartford v. Ferguson. Joining SAF are the Firearms Policy Coalition, Sporting Systems, a Hazel Dell retailer, and three private citizens, Brett Bass, Douglas Mitchell and Lawrence Hartford, for whom the case is named. They are represented by Seattle attorney Joel Ard.
