So my 22" m24 Bartlein rimx build is complete, picking it up Friday from smith. I'd like to source an optic, something with 20+ top end mag, parallax at 25y, 32mil+ elevation, and fairly forgiving eyebox, depth of field would be great, however inside 300y, parallax needs attention in all scopes. I'm considering zeiss s3 6-36, Bushnell dmr3 3.5-21, I already have a gen3 razor but due to its excessive weight, would like to keep the optic at 38oz or less. Pondered a Burris pro, but they're only 26mil.

I like the Nightforce NX8 4-32. Of your list of features, I would say that the ones you might find lacking are eyebox and depth of field, but if you go with a 30mm tube and 50mm objective you won’t get many better options for those.
I appreciate the suggestion! I've got nx8 2.5-20 & 4-32, the depth of field and eyebox are not as forgiving as I'd like for a rimfire nrl22 style rifle.

This is what I run on my Vudoo

No experience with them but Riton has a new 7 conquer 4-32 that’s about to release. It’s specs and reticle look promising but it is 37oz.

There’s also the good idea of matching reticles for your rifles. I run the vortex ebr-7c with a Razor Gen 2 for centerfire and Strike Eagle for 22lr.

Are you shooting any of the PRO series matches? I’ve shot one in Billings and one in Sheridan and it was a good time.

The Tract Toric is a nice scope at a good price. Tons of travel, good reticle and clear glass. Easy to be behind. Turrets are tall and field of view isn’t best but a really good scope. I agree about Nightforce. Eyebox is terrible!!

That Riton x7 and the Apex appear to be near the same scope, prob same own manufacturer. The Apex reticle looks much better to me. That scopes been on my radar, but so few in the wild I have not been able to play with one prior to a purchase.

That's the answer. Glass is great, on par if not a hair better than the Gen 3, and it has 32 mils of elevation. On a 40 MOA base I have about 26 mils I can dial before using the reticle so that gets me to about 440 yards. If you want a lot of elevation get the LRP S3 4-25x and put it on a 60 MOA base and you will have about 40 mils of elevation to dial as the scope has 46.5 mils total. I like the Burris Pro but because of the elevation I would keep it on a centerfire as I am. My Vudoo has a LRP S3 6-36 on it now. Just got the 4-25 yesterday and put it on my 6.5/6 Creed.

@Rob01 appreciate your input, been leaning that way or a cronus btr gen2. I have a connection at europtic to get the s3 for a solid price, will likely go this route. Rimx has 30moa base, and drop it into a 10moa mbrace and be done.

No problem. Getting it at a good price always helps. Expertvoice has them at a really good price now. If you wanted more elevation you can use a 20 MOA M Brace. That will give you 50moa and should be around 29.5 MOA of elevation.

Gen3 balances okay at 16.2# total weight. If I went to lighter glass may be able to go to the shorter lighter nose extension. Kinda winter this girl around 15# ready to go minus ckyepod.

Being zeroed at 50y damn near maxed out into the top the glass, is there a sacrifice in IQ up there round the edges?

Nope. The 32 mils is in their working zone and where IQ is all good. Some have said they had 50 mils in the 4-25 but after talking to Zeiss I found out that’s not all with best IQ. The 46.5 is where the IQ is best so with the 6-36 you should be fine in that 32 mil area.

So you should have picked up the rifle by now, how about some feedback…..

how does it shoot? Who did the barrel work?

Let’s see that thing…. The Rimx that is!!

Check about 3-4 posts up. I went with a Zeiss S3 4-25, which still hasn't shown up, but oh well. Still has the g3 razor atop. I haven't shot it but maybe 10-15 times in the driveway getting a rough zero at 50y. Dime sized groups with Eley standing of top of tripod, not that stable. Manzella Precision cut it with an Eachus chamber. Hope to report more in coming weeks.
