"AR-15's are weapons of war and designed to kill" Yes. That's why I own them.

I don't understand why everyone tiptoes around this, claiming it's for hunting, or target shooting, or plinking, or any other excuse.

Yes, it's a weapon of war. And the right of the people to bear arms, in order to defend themselves from common criminals as well as tyrannical governments, is most effectively done with a weapon that has proven itself in war.

Is it designed to kill people? Yep. I'm not ashamed of that fact. Because God forbid if I ever need to defend my life or that of my family, I want something that does the job well.

Because it feeds there narrative.
But I actually consider them defense weapons.
Main battle tanks and fighter jets etc are what I consider weapons of war.

they'll feed their own narrative all day long regardless.

if we keep saying "but muh hunting rifle" then all we'll have left is bolt guns and shotguns.

AR was designed off a “weapon of war” but has since imbedded itself into every shooting discipline there is. From Mil/LE/hunting/target more than any other platform ever designed. So it’s almost unfair to say killing is it’s only purpose now. Lots of things we use for hunting or target were designed with the battle field in mind

I wanna tank ...I consider them yard art .

I quit hunting for sport years ago, during Obama's first term. And since that time have acquired most of my AR's, not that it's anybody else's business.

Spot on. Yes, it is designed to kill. I agree, we argue the wrong way in an effort to somehow appease the rabid statists by suggesting our guns are not as dangerous as the ones used in military service. This is how we lose. Instead we need to argue to our founder's intent of being "well regulated" and having military grade weapons for our defense.

In a recent survey, 60% of people responded they use AR’s as their main hunting rifle.

But that’s besides the point. If George Washington was around today, to hell with AR’s.. citizens would be allowed to own fuckin Tomahawk cruise missiles and nuke ICBM’s.

I bought mine because there are no make a robber explode guns yet , so the ar will have to do .

Pretty sure the AR started as a civilian rifle.
This. The AR-15 was never designed as a weapon of war. It was designed as a light, rugged, relatively-accurate civilian rifle ideal for ranchers, outdoorsmen and civilians looking for an all-purpose small caliber tool.

The M16, the CAR-15 and the M4 were designed as weapons of war. That's why they have a little 'Happy Switch" on the side and don't conform to civilian rules on things like barrel length and "Brrrrrrrtttt" rate.

Don't confuse the two. That's what retarded Senators, Commie Congressmen and idiot journalists do.... because they are looking to brand a fine civilian tool as a dangerous military item.

That is exactly why the left is so desperately trying to ban them!

You are slightly wrong in this assumption, the first AR 15's were designed as weapons of war. Colt bought the patent from Armalite around 1959, and there were AR 15's in service in Vietnam prior to the introduction of the M16. In 1964, Colt introduced the M16 for military and the AR 15 for civilian use.
At best, we could say the AR 15 was downgraded for our usage.

Because all of the Fudds and hunters caved to more and more gun laws the second half of the 1900s. All of the, as long as they don't come for my deer rifle I don't care people. And so the other side runs with it.
