Old news 2017 but just coming to a legal conclusion.
Cliff notes - 900 kids searched hands on by a sheriffs department with no warrant, no probable cause and no parental notification.
County has lost $3 million dollar law suit
Sheriff indicted on 6 felonies.

We should gladly hand the power of stop and grope to all hero’s !

I have plenty of problems with police, judges, etcetera. But there are hills to die on and others to navigate around.
 
Id like it extended to stop and get frisked or resist and be beaten like a baby seal in the 20's . It would be far funnier a video to watch than the lady freaking out in a court yelling at cops not to taser her , just be fore they do and you get to see her flopping on the ground , it was priceless .

I see one possible scenario to keep illegal stuff out of schools, public places, etc and you seem to be against that.

What's your alternative?

If you're just complaining without an alternative, you're a waste of air. ...so how would you propose going about it? Use small words because some of us aren't real bright

The most disturbing part of this I think is if you watched the video- every member of the sheriffs department took part in this - and not one had a problem with it , not one single school administrator decided to call the state police or Parents. So 100% participation from county employees entrusted to “up hold the law” and watch out for the kids under their care .
So the few bad apples bullshit isn’t even a possible counter argument.

Would the school administration and or deputy’s have reacted differently if the sheriff ordered those kids loaded into train cars ? I’m guessing not

At the risk of being called a bootliker/glowy/savage owner

The original stop and frisk was used to clean up NYC. However if you look at the numbers, it was used much more sparingly in its original form, under Guiluani. It was Bloomberg who blew it up into its current Stasi-esque form.

I think the rate of stops was 5X less (~100k) the last year of Guluani vs Peak Bloomberg (600k).

And keep in mind crime was already down when Bloomberg came in.

Obviously things got out of hand, but therevwas some merit in its early form

Shit made up in court like RAS and qualified immunity and CAF. The 4th amendment prevails.
We can’t allow stop and frisk cause it’ll be used to molest kids steal shit and harass . Not to reduce crime .

The original stop and frisk was about reasonable suspicion.

I.E. allow police to use their brains.

Your argument is akin to we can't have guns because they will be misused.

Get those who abuse power, not those who do their damn job

Point was the original stop and frisk was legal, made NY safe. Bit as with all thing, power corrupts. Just be careful that the counter correction doesn't give power back to the criminals.

Its the old John Locke argument--which evil is preferable, anarchy or government. Both begat evil, which is the lesser.

This is not to say the random search of schools is reasonable. But if you're hanging on street corner at 2.30 am in a crime area, I think it is reasonable to conclude you might be up to some shit.

True to form, Liberals started complaining that "NYC is too clean, its family friendly and not all gritty". The way I read his statement is that kids who do not do drugs have a less likely chance to die from drugs. Which is true, in the same sense that guys who take aspirin for a headache live longer than those who are beheaded.

His post did not say or imply that he knew exactly how many kids are taking drugs.

If smoking cigarettes gives a person a higher chance of getting lung cancer from smoking cigarettes, then not smoking cigarettes would lead to less of a chance of dying from lung cancer produced by cigarettes. That does not mean a person will not get lung cancer, period.
