• Watch Out for Scammers!

We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!

Absolutely Stop Posting WTB Posts

Maybe I'm just overlooking something basic, but I don't see why posting a WTB is problematic and Hide would take such exception to it.

Seems completely counter intuitive. I pretend to buy something...contact a seller...then send fake funds...and the seller sends me his item. Great...now I have a scope/accessory/whatever and I need to liquidate it to get what I am really after (i.e. cash).

Wouldn't posting a "normal" listing (i.e. WTS) be multiple time more likely to be the scammer given they would be the receiver of funds and then never ship an item that was paid for?

Because wtb is specific, you are looking for a cog. They draw you in because they have exactly what you want.

What’s really weird, is that it’s actual “gun people” not some fucking Nigerian.. it’s really disgusting.. back in the day, like (2) years ago, gun people = good people.
The only ones trying to scam on gun forums were random foreigners that knew jack shit about firearms.. it was pretty easy to spot.. and if you demanded they call you before you done a deal, it was very obvious within 30 seconds whether it was a scam…. Now it’s an English speaking guy that actually knows some shit.
You're an idiot if you think or ever thought gun people automatically equals good people.

Tell me you don’t know all that many gun people without telling me. I’ve met very easily tens of thousands in my old line of work, it’s the same people who make up every other group.

You talk exactly like someone perfect for scamming “oh they like guns, must be good people...take my money”.

A WTB is a magnet for scammers. They are only dealing with one person, and its a person who is looking for a specific item. Because of this, they dont have to expose their whole scam to all of us, for all of us to notice the problems or abnormalities with the claim or item. It's a whole lot easier to scam a single person who is hoping to find an item than to post an add with a picture and have all of us who know what to look for review it and then tell everyone "hey, this guy just joined today 5 min ago" or "hey this is a photoshopped picture " ect... They also are able to pretty much immediately get the person to start communicating via email and not on here. It's just a lot easier for the scammer to just respond to any wtb add and see who replies to them, vs having to create a bunch of fake adds that someone may or may not be looking, plus all the other stuff.

Are missed connections still okay?

“Saw you at ________ Range, couldn’t stop wondering if you had a CDL for that dump truck in your 5.11 pants. You had hot brass go down your cleavage on mag 4, then you crop dusted me when you left and you thought I wouldn’t notice...I fell in love.”

Your an idiot simply because you’re an idiot… I’ve never had a bad deal.. can’t say I’ve met 10’s of thousands. Guess when you were giving free head you ran across that many..
be careful… I own a quigley-ford 😂

That post definitely shows what an idiot looks like.

Next it'll be bragging about fucking your cousin.

Thank you for doing this, I don't post or spend a lot of time reading these post on any forum so a lot of these codes like WTB I really don't understand. So making the effort for dump newbies like me are very welcomed, I would probably get scammed lol. I just get very little time to research anything and like today, the wife has spent the weekend with the grandkids so I have some free time. I get up at 0215 go to work come home at 1800 if no traffic, then I am in bed at 0700 ish. When I get on which is rare on any forum I have to try and relearn the what little if anything I learned and try and quickly look for information. I on a very good Diesel forum and over the years have had a great deal of help from them too. I don't get on there either unless I have a issue but with these too forums I appreciate any help to avoid us from being set up by scammers, thank you all for your help on this, Best regards Robert

Nobody pays attention regardless

We talk until we are blue on the face, we just delete em, but we are not hunting them down
Frank, respectfully- has the ban on WTB ads been lifted? TYIA
