This was a great failure of the Government, and those most at fault were never punished. While worth remembering the actionable lesson should be "never modify a gun for a buyer." as the ATF got its hooks in by purchasing a shot gun that they claimed was too short of a barrel.
All due respect to dog lovers: the dog being shot dead is a pretty small issue compared to the wife holding an infant being sniped dead under orders from on high.

Not to mention the 13 year old son who was shot IN THE BACK
Kevin Harris removed that shooter, but ol' Lon Houriuchi still slithers around free.
