Also, go to be any post that you think is a scam using a name similar to yours and hit the report button in the bottom right hand corner. Explain why you think this is a scam.
Then ask the person the scammer PM’d hit Report (there’s a report button on PMs too) and report it. They should include your acct name (oldnewguy) and it would be helpful if they also include a link to your For Sale post.

Report the person and We can have a look at it and ban them if need be.
Seems like the new scam. Someone else just posted this same thing and that fake username looked almost identical, even stole their avatar and caption
Yes, it's a new scam. I've got @alexj-12 tagged for it. Likely need root access to view the accounts to determine which are dupes.
This is not an entirely uncommon issue, but it hasn't come up on here much before now.
Always make sure any communications you have regarding buy/sell/trade is with the intended person; In almost all cases the scammer won't have any feedback or posts attached to their profile, and most are so lazy they don't even bother to mimic the profile picture of the user they are impersonating.

Step 1 in anything is 'Identify the Scapegoat', then continue with the project plan. I've built that into my project templates.
Had this happen to me yesterday apparently. Someone cloned my account I think? Was working a deal with a guy and he almost got taken for his money.
