I am not sure if this is in the right spot, but......

Im looking for a long distance shooting range in south Louisiana. I used the custom search engine with sub-par results. I am aware of Palo Alto, it reaches out to 600yds, but I was looking for 1k yds. Anyone know if there is one? Someone told me there is one in Galliano, but I couldnt find anything.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The only 1000 yard range in the state is Long Range Alley just off I-49 15 minutes south of Shreveport.

Re: Looking for long shooting range in Louisiana....

Closest is Pascagoula DCM in Pascagoula MS. Just under 2 hours from NOLA. It is members only, but yearly dues are only $120 now I think. It is a square NRA range set up primarily for high power competition. It has a general use 200 yard range, then a 600 and 1000 yard range with NRA style carriers which you must qualify to use. Easiest way is to shoot either the service rifle match or the F class match? There is no RO there, so to use the 600/1k side you must bring someone to act as an RO, and ensure 2 way comms. we usually get a group of people together and plan a long range day.

The range took some damage during Isaac, so I do not know if they are up and running again yet. They have a forum and website you can check out- just google it.

They aren't taking new members at the moment from what I hear.

And it seems still active.
It will be "active" and searchable until Low Light deems it time to flush older posts.
Until then, the entire forum is a huge data base that can be mined for info on just about every topic.

After asking his original question in this forum 11 years ago, I'm guessing amedeo 1227 has it all sorted out by now.
