Looking at thermal scanners for hogs. Came across someone selling these Elcan Phantoms. I wasn’t able to find much on them, believed built by Raytheon, they aren’t compact at 3.5#’s, would mount on tripod. Curious on thoughts, any issues, worth it for sub $2k with a 640 core? Thanks

I’ve repaired several due to battery corrosion issues and such. Those things were leaps and bounds ahead of their time back when they were first sold to Uncle Sam. If you’re going to be stationary with it on a tripod it will still perform very nicely as they are a chunk. Every time I get one through here it surprises me that it came from the very early 2000’s.
