Tangent theta ....ZCO.....Night Force ATACR.....

Yeah, I guess I like the circles but I don’t own a ZCO, so just basing it off a reticle pic I found.

I do own a NX8 4-32 with a Mil-XT. That reticle is a little thicker in the 4-32 than in the 7-35 Atacr (called NF to confirm). Not sure which scope the Mil-XT ret pic I used came from.

I like the Mil-XT, but I do wish it didn’t have all of the numbers flying everywhere. I like their hash style and that they have 3mil wind holds right off the bat. The 1/2mil dots are neat too.

I guess I initially prefer the ZCO 3x reticle for its circles, fewer numerals, and that they cut off the vertical stadia at 4mils. I wish it had at least 2mil wind holds (like vortex) right off the bat. Don’t need the grid part that happens down lower, but having those 1/2mil dots like the Mil-XT might be nice.

If ZCO is reading this (hint hint lol), I’m a small varmint shooter, not a competitor. I shoot 204 mainly, and 17 Hornet, both of which blow around a lot on the windy prairie.
I saw that ZCO is going offer a mpct 1x which does away with the tree but has the circles. Support be out in a couple of months

Shit glass for the money, Whole occular turns, NF customer service sucks if you have an issue, they will just blame it on the customer. Overpriced for what you get. Reticle selection sucks and always has.

The best thing about NF is the little tool they give you with each scope. Wish they would sell it separate. When i sold mine i kept the tool, HA
You're not wrong here....

If ZCO swapped the circles with thicker dots like the Mil-XT and got ride of the vertical dots, they’d have a reticle I could live with. Don’t like the H2CMR for the same reason.
Whatchu talkin’ bout Willis??

On the issue of differing perception, it’s really interesting that you say that about circles and the H2CMR. I own a S&B with that reticle and it’s one of my favorite non-tree reticles because of the circles (and lack of numerals).

To me, it’s a very calm-feeling design.

Diff’rent strokes and all that.

Of the three mentioned, I would go with the one with the reticle you prefer. Although I believe the glass is better in the ZCO and TT. A Gen 3 Vortex shouldn't be out of the equation either. But with the incredible used prices on ZCOs currently in the PX, it would be difficult to find a better value. If you could get hands on all mentioned, you'd get a better idea on what your eyes prefer and how they feel in hand. Lastly, get the one you want, not the one that will save you a few hundred dollars. You'll be happiest and long forget the couple hundred you saved.

think I am going to go for ZCO, non locking turret, MPCT2X....just need to save up some coin and get one this spring....
You might consider the 10 mil elevation turrets. Maybe you meant that, but there's also an option for to have the 15 mil NLE as well. I have the original 15 mil/rev turrets, and while they are fine, I think the 10 mil/rev would be the way to go. Just one more thing to think about.

Locking turrets > NLE. Owned both and the locking turrets are way easier and faster to zero.

15 Mil turrets are also faster.
Maybe if you don't plan to change them, if you use the turrets frequently, you zero the rifle and set the zero stop (super easy to set, even I got it right). After that the non-locking turrets are far superior, have tried both and my personal preference is the NLE

Negative. The zero is much easier to set since the locking turrets have a grove you can index on ever tenth. Without you have infinite adjustment so you have to line them up perfectly, which is slower and more tedious.

Dial to zero setting, Lock turret. Loosen turret, unlock and spin to Zero out and click down to lock to make sure its in the grove. Tighten up and done.

The more you change your zero or adjust it, the easier the locking turrets become. Actual feel is not that much different.

I shot matches with both over the course of 2 years, zeroing them about twice a month in that time.

Think we just have different preferences, which why they sell both.

Being a weirdo that has all these and a few more... it is really preference between features and reticle. All of them are really nice scopes... call me weird but I really like the ATACRs elevation turret probably one of my favorite features on it.

But my H59 PMIIs are probably my favorite scopes I own, next would be my 5-27 ZCO, then my H59 TT, then my ATACRs and Mark 5HDs after that.

Buying new, I would probably buy either the ZCO or a new PMII. Been thinking of selling/trading my TT for another ZCO for a while now... it is good, there is just not a thing that makes me love it.

You lost me at Horus

At least wait a few more days. Shot Show is less than a week away.

And oh, I echo the above comments. Reticle, locking turrets, font size on turrets (how easy it is to read), etc are going to matter more at these levels. The only reason not to buy a Tangent/ZCO is price.
As a relative newcomer to scopes, I am beginning to really appreciate font size on controls.

Pretty much anyone over the age of 45 also appreciates the larger numbers. The majority of turrets out there were designed by young folk who have great vision, but once the mid 40's hit and presbyopia becomes something more than a Latin term for you, then you really appreciate those larger numbers ;) 👴

For you old bastards!!

It comes in a package deal with diapers in case you shit yourself setting off a 300 Norma round

I'll just stick with turret tape when I get to that point lol

I have those turret magnifiers and they work, but they are one more thing to worry about and they do tend to collect dust a bit on windy days. Just make numbers bigger like ZCO, Nightforce and March, it's not rocket science guys... Tangent has absolutely no excuse, they have some of the biggest turrets in the industry and putting that tiny font on there is an afront to geezers everywhere :ROFLMAO:

I’m under 45, have 20/15 vision, and I want larger numbers on almost every scope. Especially those that have dead/unused space (tangent, Gen 3 razor, most turrets). It’s a just laziness/ignorance by the designer.

Also, how hard is it to produce a few turret options from the mfg. I’d buy ZCO replacement turrets with large 1st rev only markings…..just an example (cough @gebhardt02 cough). The turret tapes are cool, but options like the Leupold competition dial are better.
