Looking at 11.5” 556 uppers (BCM in the lead) and I want to put a can on it

I want a short can to tame the muzzle blast and help with noise, thinking about saker 556k

What other combos would you recommend. It would be a bump in the night AR pistol, but I want to keep price reasonable. Reliability is important

I have a tbac dominus and a Kgm r30 with the hellfire system, the next can would be dedicated more or less to 556 carbines/pistols so it doesn’t need to play nice with the others

The KAC and Surefire minis if you want really short. The Huxwurx Flow does not add very much length.

YHM sells a complete upper with the Turbo pinned/welded, so you could keep it stocked 🤷‍♂️

I know it's not KAC/SF, but might save you enough to get closer to NV. Or at least a good light for it.

Brownells has some DD uppers on sale. From 10.3 to 14.5 and priced good. I grabbed a 14.5 and with 10% coupon. Most cans will do a good job and that Otter Creek has great reviews.

I also really like direct thread cans for a dedicated upper / suppressor usage.

How short do you want to go? IMHO 10.5” or so is as short as I’d go for 5.56 gassers…a lot shorter for 300BLK, but sounds like you’re looking for another 5.56 barrel.

11.5” on a 5.56 upper works well with carbine gas too, but may need some tuning to run perfectly.

My favorite do everything length is 12.5” and have a few that get used a lot. Also like 13.7” or 14.5” for pin and weld builds, but that 12.5” just hits a sweet spot for me

edit: for the shorter (10-14.5”) barrels in a duty type configuration, it’s hard to go wrong with either DD or BCM. I have probably a dozen between my safe, my son’s safe, and out at the ranch. Damn good choice for work guns.

I particularly like the fluted barrels BCM’s been putting out the last couple years.

Im looking at 11.5” range - I don’t have a 300blk and i don’t want to diversify right now, maybe later

Yes wanting to keep it 556, and I’m waiting for an in stock notification from

I believe that is the chamber spec, not where the blank came from.

Just about any reputable properly gassed 11.5 barrel and an rc2. I have yet to find a better suppressor for a 556 AR. I have also heard good things about the rc2 mini.
Im running an rc2 on the following rifles, Geissele 11.5 and runs very well. Mil built/issued mk18 built upper with a jp buffer and a home build 14.5 WOA with LMT enhanced carrier. The rc2 runs the softest on the Geissele and 14.5.

What sort of use? That will determine which type of can construction you want.
