I've witnessed this first hand. Absolutely amazing. We got our, she's past now, German Shepard when she was 4. The prior owner came down with some freek allergy and had to rehome her.
A couple years after we had her, a mom and her 4 kids got out of their car, here at the nursery, and it was amazing. Adrian ran to the oldest girl maybe 6 or so, and lifted up on her hind legs and absolutely was hugging that child. The affection Adrian showed that child and family brought tears to my eyes.
Unconditionally, it was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
Adrian was such a good dog, RIP girl.

Adrian is on the right and Lilia on the left.

Damn it's dusty in here

Because we are told you are a failure if you don't go to college. Any trade job is seen as well he could not do any better.

There is a pretty hot lib that works here. His daughter is almost out of high school. We are talking about our kids, and I asked about her, saying she should be out of school now, or close.

Oh she is a senior this year.

Cool, does she know what she wants to do for her next step.

She wants to be a welder, he said with some discust.

Oh that is fantastic, those people can make some real good money, and she is going to be one of the people that actually makes things, she is going to be building the world, making it go you should be so proud of her.

yeah.

Still to this day it is not seen as a "good" job.

"Good" electricians, plumbers, any trade job are very hard to come by.

That is why people don't want to work those jobs, the high schools shame poeople that are interested in them, and who runs the HS.

Welder? If she happens to be left handed and becomes skilled enough to pass x-rays with no cut outs and only cursory repairs 95% of the time she will be the unicorn that the pipeline folks dream of. Willing to travel, boyfriend helper, and she will never be out of work.

As long as Brandon, and his handlers, keep their nose out of it.

Hobo, I've been out quite a while. Whats the current hourly rate for welder and helper with rig on a furnished job?

Thank you,
MrSmith

Tampa, truck and welder, basic steel welding, basic repair, away from water, 125.00 hr. Plus

The more we change, the more we remain the same, and the cycles repeat.

And they look to be repeating again...

Some time ago when the History Channel was still great, they came out with one of their best documentaries. This made me go back to it again...

I have been out for a while, also. I will check on the rates.

What people are missing is this point... In "the trades" a person's ambition and work ethic will take them as far up the ladder as they want to go. A lot of people start as a welder and continue their education and move up. Other's enjoy the welding because, in a way they compete with themselves, like a professional golfer. Some welders spend a lifetime trying to achieve the perfect weld. Always strive perfection even though it goes well beyond the code. I worked with some first year apprentices, long ago, who looked at our Project Manager and said "That guy is dumb as a box of rocks". I chuckled and asked why they said that ... "Because he does not know how to treat his people".

In fact, I will post a link to show you where this young man ended up today.

There is no "new leadership", just new faces and names. They all have the same objective. Only the people can fix this shit now.

I think there are some good people up there. Not many but some.

Fuck you chuck, just fuck you.

Get them to come forward and identify themselves so it will be easier to deport their asses later. This shit is getting too tiresome. Meanwhile Europe is being ravaged by a wholesale migrant invasion and anybody here who is paying attention is noticing. Even the junkies and opioid fanatics are having none of the bullshit and are driving migrants trying to set up shelter out of their drug activity hotspots.

Conservative commentators were quick to denounce the provision, contained on page 221 of the bill. Bill Shipley, who was a federal prosecutor for over 20 years, decried the its court provisions on X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday.

"This would prevent plaintiffs - like the State of Texas - from filing suit in Texas federal courts. This is corrupt," he wrote.

maybe don't let the rapists into your country in the first place?

Always lock your door. It's much easier to keep them out than to try and get them out once they got in.
Just common sense.

ha!

The judge expanded on the decision that Bragg and his office almost daily "move to dismiss significantly more serious counts or entire indictments" and avoid harsher penalties for far more violent and convicted felons. Bragg also recently allowed a group of all but a single illegal immigrant to be released without bail after they allegedly beat up two NYPD officers. He later defended this saying that the video evidence was not enough to hold the foreign nationals.
