Any F1 racing fans?

Not worth the effort, he is like this deathbeforewtf guy. Know it all, and accept no other option no matter how sound.
If you have inside info we’d love to hear it

Just regurgitating what I’ve seen in interviews. So either Ron dennis was lying or explain why Ron dennis is wrong.

I believe you just like to hear yourself.

But if you’re lucky Rory Byrne is still able to design the car for your favorite driver, it’s getting not easier for him with an age of above 80 (I think). Hopefully he likes Luis… there is almost nobody around filling Adrian’s or Rory’s shoes when they are gone.

I actually don’t like him at all, I’m Ferrari red from day 1. To me the brand is more important that the driver. I don’t care who drives as long as it’s a red car on the podium.

So your not going to explain if you have better info?

This sounds like a tuner thread all of a sudden

Yeah a pretty weird decision on his part for sure. Ferrari is where careers go to die.

I see MB getting their mojo back and getting him the big number 8 before I see Ferrari figuring out how to stop tripping on their dick.
But is he chasing that anymore? He knows his prime is coming to an end soon and he's never been a Ferrari driver. For someone that's set so many records in the sport, it just seems fitting that he ends it in the prestigious Ferrari red.

I just can't wait until the shit show starts. Lewis wants to be bigger than the team, and that shit just doesn't fly at Ferrari.

What are peoples thoughts about the Christian Horner deal at RBR? To me, it seems like a power struggle at RBR and Red Bull. I think they want him out and now there so happen to be a investigation on misconduct at RBR between Horner and a employee? Seems fishy AF.

Everything is fishy in f1. None of us will ever know the real truth. It’s hundreds of millions or even billions $ game. Supposedly Louis receives over 400 million as a start and the Ferrari stock gained already 7 billion after the announcement I was told. I just see it as entertainment, all we really can do.

I’d say with this insane amount of profit nobody even cares about results?

He's brought them a manufacture's win and they seem unstoppable. Why would they want him gone?

I have to ask the question to my cousin and her husband, they live next to the Red Bull ring and should know something. The old man was liked a lot in their area by the residents, he did many good deeds for the community.
Lot’s of things changed I imagine after he passed. Who knows how CH gets along with the new leaders of the company.

From the outside it looks like a pretty big mistake if they chancel him I think. Interesting couple of weeks ahead, looks like they want it to be over with before feb 20 when they unveil their new car.

I heard there was some animosity between Horner and Helmut. With Max being loyal to Helmut, he's pretty safe in the team because no one is going to want to upset the star driver. That leaves Horner on the chopping block to ease the tension. The problem with that is, allegedly Horner and Newey's contracts are tied to one another in some way. If one of them leaves, the other is free to go. So if Horner is pushed out, they could be losing their star designer as well.

Watching Senna race isn't a negative...:ROFLMAO:.

In all seriousness, that's cool! I was going to take leave in '91, to go to SPA...but my leave got cancelled due to others having family emergencies that precluded me taking leave at that time.

Did go to the US F1 at Indy in 2001 and Australia in 2011.
Australia in 2011…I wish I could hear the screaming V8’s with the blown diffusers in person.

I suspect that Ferrari and McLaren are closer than they were in 2023. Mercedes might be a bit closer as well.

Time will tell, for sure!

Who knows if it's true or not (sports media is dead), but I saw reports floating around that teams were pretty sure RB was running a "low power" mode during testing.. If that's the case, I don't know that I'll bother waking up early for races this year. The highlights on Youtube are oftentimes better than watching the damn race

I think I read that Ferrari and McLaren didn’t do much low fuel load testing and RB did. So the times might be a little misleading

Or..Adrian figured it out again

Winning a test session. Bwaaaahahaha.
Everything I've been reading is about the changes in rear suspension. Who's doing it and who's not. Ferrari said that they are happy with what they have and think it's the best so no need to try what RBR is doing.

W/ George Russell in third running the same car. Has LH lost his edge?
Doesn’t look any different than the beginning of last year's season. We might hear soon some blaming on the cars design again if it doesn’t get better.

Everyone is bound to drop off sooner or later.

I think LH race pace /long runs are still better than Russel but it’s only a meter of time.

Maybe this is the year

Pure RB domination, as expected.

Ferrari is looking pretty decent, despite LeClerc's brake issues. Mercedes in solid 3rd.

Interesting to see Alpine fall way off this year.

Really clean race. RB dominates again. Can they keep it up throughout the season?

I expect to see Checo still fighting anywhere from 3-10 every race, while Max continues punishing the rest of the grid.

One thing that pisses me off when watching, they're showing a great battle for a points position, then they cut to watching Max cross the line, followed by 25 seconds of BS until the next car crosses. No mention of the battle, no footage of it, as if we need to see the RB mechanics celebrating instead of the race.

Sponsors pay for air time. Also have a solid 20+ second delay until checo crossed the line shows their dominance.

Yup biggest money or revenue maker gets the air time.

There are formulas used in media for amounts of coverage.

I dont know about them but I read a article about nascar years ago and how tv tine is used for sponsorship and revenue generation by driver /constructor

On the flip side.. say RB had the same 1-2 finish, but they were 1.1sec apart.. (so no drs overtakes). Just those 2, 20+ secs ahead with NO other traffic. Then in 3rd and 4th you have (insert your fav other 2 drivers here) constantly battling and swapping places.

In that instance they would get lots of air time, and thus the sponsors would love it.

There is contractual obligations for showing various teams, regardless of position, and also showing race position. So the guy in first gets X minutes per 10 laps or whatever the contract says, and others get Y minutes. There is still Z minutes remaining within that alotted time slot. This covers replays, pit stops, crash (and thus safety car, etc), crowd reaction (overtakes or similar).

Sponsors know what they are buying into, and the percentage of possible air time reflects on how much they pay, and to which team, or driver they will attach to.
