Our once small town was destroyed by people fleeing big cities during 2020. Homeless everywhere. Roads in disrepair. Horrible traffic due to the insane density of population now with roads not designed to sustain the volume. Businesses are... in similar states of disrepair, people who work at them aren't really working. Vagrants walking through neighborhoods in summer months (100+ degrees) wearing full on winter clothes.

Just recently, my daughters dance studio sent out a notice that multiple doors to the building the studio is in would be closed due to issues with homeless - and that security guards would be present going forward.

2019, this was a great place to raise a family.

2024, not so much.

Which makes me wonder -- is it just a result of leftist migrations or is this a symptom of a more widespread disease?

Man, the whole fayetteberg area has been a shit show since 2000 IMHO. IT wasn't great in 1990 when I was going to U of A to be honest but Walmart didn't demand vendors have an office in Bentonville and Tyson wasn't importing illegals wholesale either so... The whole damn place was a culture shock coming from a town of 900-ish with a graduating class of 27. BTW, the Commiefornians and the Texans are over running my little spot as well.

Its everywhere. The politicians have stolen so much that there is no money to improve or maintain the infrastructure. Those vagrants used to be rounded up, now they're given EDB cards. Parasites used to know better than to assault the citizens, now there is no consequence, so why not.

Our little corner of the island saw a significant increase in population during the Spring of 2020. A lot of Flatlanders (seattleites) came up because of the remote work situation. Most left, but some stayed when CV settled down.

Our area is retirees that have lived there for 50, 60 years, or their entire lives, plus a few that have vacation "cabins". Prior to CV, the wintertime population was about 35%. It was glorious, there was no one around. Quiet, peaceful, no crime to speak of. Summertime is about 65 or 70% populated.

Then, the Flatlanders came in. Pretty much the same story as anywhere else. We even had a "gay pride" mini-parade. I was sitting in my truck one spring day, warming it up to make a grocery store run. I look up and there were (what appeared to be) two families walking down the street in front of me wearing rainbow flags and all painted up in "the colors". I just rolled my eyes and shook my head. There was no one else around, they had no audience.

We're a bit redneck in our parts, but mostly, nobody cares. I felt like rolling down my window and saying "go back to seattle", but it just wasn't worth the bother. Haven't seen them since.

Tell us about what's happened to Charlottesville, Virginia, which used be called "The nicest small town in the USA."

Our small, rural, farming town (1,300) isn't big enough to attract any real trouble. (some trash here & there, but no gangs, meth labs or the like)
We are kinda close to the highway though, so we do get passersby once in a while.

Globalism is the disease behind all of it. All originating from WEF and DAVOS and distributed through a cunning network of locally installed bankrollers like Soros, Trudeau, Sunak, etc...

The major super-viral trend that has originated in the UK last week and is now absolutely taking the entire social media by storm is "Conscription? Fuck you". And most of the comments are: "We will NOT fight for globalists, we wait until the time comes that we fight to destroy the globalists". As well as "Remember No Jab, No Job? Fuck your globalist army too".

My "small" town increases population by 10x since we moved here in 1998. The supporting infrastructure has been keeping pace with it but at a price.

Don't know if it may surprise you or not, but the same phenomenon is seen oversea. Huge influx of migrants and urbanite to the country side. In the little town where I was living for decades, we saw a huge immigration influx taking place since the CV. Half of the neighborhood went 80% native to 60% in less than 5 years. It has totally changed the atmosphere of that rural town. Traffic jam during the weekday day, no more flowers at the balcony, lot of noises, dog shit everywhere, burglary, drug trafficking, so on...

I came across old pictures and videos I made 11 years ago of the area, I was shock when I saw how thing changed so fast. If you ask me, it's by design, totally part of the plan.

You're right, and I actually HATE the fact that you're right.

This is NOT the country that my/our Grandparents fought for, during the Wars. This is NOT the country that they were proud of, and continued to build.

NAFTA was the beginning of the demise..... that and 'political correctness'.

But I digress....

For the most part, population has decreased where I am. Of course there isn't a lot of higher paying jobs, and the housing market sucks.
We do get a spike in pop. twice a year, but it's localized to a 50 acre area shaped like a paper clip.

It's a widespread disease. I never realized how bad it was until I moved to Phoenix Arizona. Terrible traffic, road rage, high cost of living, you have to work two jobs to stay afloat and most Americans are too fucking dumb to know any better. It's all normal to them.

Our community (about 9 houses, a community center, a post office, and a church) doesn't think much of outside influence. That being said, we had a retired California couple move up here and manage to make friends. It is all in how you handle yourself (stop trying to adjust where you live to you). I'm technically part of that community, but like 95% of the valley that claims the name - we live several miles away.

Unfortunately, Dallas found here. Broken Bow and Hochatown now have traffic delays (two-lane road) that will cost you an hour to go a mile. The bastards even found a hillside that they liked a couple miles from my ranch and are developing it into a community of I think 53 cabins they said. They didn't even get gravel down yet and they had already erected a big arch gate over the entrance. Why? 'Cause that's how they roll down in the DFW.

I keep hoping that we can build a border wall. Along the Rio Grande is fine too...but I'm talking along the Red River (OK/TX).

On the bright side, I've watched the financial worth of my land triple between 2018 and now. However, since I'll never sell all it amounts to is more taxes.

Where I am outside DC there's been a growth in McMansions as people from Fairfax 'move out to the country.'

...bringing Fairfax with them which sucks out loud.

It used to be cowfields, dairy, cornfields, then more cowfields. Now? Dairy's gone (last one in NoVA IIRC) and so are most of the cows.

Sounds like you need to elect a new sheriff. Our dude would be cracking skulls to the cheers of the populace. They wouldn't need much convincing to leave.

Also, dont live inside town/city limits. Fuck all that noise its for the peasants.

We're being manipulated to fight each other so we don't try and change the real cause of this anger and frustration. Middle America can make significant changes if we can see this and come together!

Town of 10,000 already has 3 mexican restaurants.
That's all? Town of 4,000 here, 12 and more coming probably.

And the homeless around here that I see are white people, a lot of them addicts.

BUT, that's not the problem here. The problem here is all the damn people fleeing some flat, city shithole with strip malls and coffee shops on every corner, then trying to turn our little town into what they wanted away from in the first place.

If you miss all that stuff, the solution is pretty simple, just go back there.

lol yeah I don't go there much anymore, I live far enough away I don't rely on the city

Back in sept '23, major meth fentanyl bust

Prostitution ring busted Jan '24

I think they finally cracked down on the huge homeless tent population

but crime went way up

Even going to a grocery store in Cville, you don't want to forget your carry gun

Fuck all lawless democraps

Currently in Medellin Colombia and you should see what a lifetime of bad decisions really looks like. Crazy. At least a small part to free influx from Venezuela. At least the girls are hot as balls so they have that going for them.

Our little town is expanding mostly with folks moving up from Kansas City to escape all the crime. There aren't any shelters around for the homeless to be at, so this time of year when it's cold they aren't around, and in the summer the local PD make life difficult for them so they'll leave. The crime has followed the main highway through town, neighborhoods along that road see more and more theft. Hasn't made it's way our to us yet though, but we're off the beaten path on a dead end road. Not really much immigrants around here at all.

Wait till they take over the school board, the city council, and tear out the baseball field to put in a soccer field.

I don't know exactly where you're at but based on you mentioning Broken Bow I reckon I'm about 3-4 hours north of you...

In my little corner we have that new "theme park" going in about 6 miles down the road.

There will be positives, but I'm not sure they will outweigh the negatives... One potential saving grace is that I've been told the place will have its own turnpike exit and gate... Hopefully that cuts down on the traffic.

Property values have skyrocketed. I'm tempted to sell and move elsewhere... But I don't know where I would go that doesn't have the same issue. Plus, my entire family is here.

I'm about an hour west-northwest of Broken Bow.

It was literally the middle of nowhere until about 3-4 years ago. I'll bet solid money that the number of vacation homes in this part of the county now equal the number of permanent residences.

Hope your traffic isn't affected much...but I have my suspicions. Best of luck man.

I'm in the middle of the triangle made up by Miami, Grove, and Vinita. Isolated enough to be quiet, but not so isolated as to be a burden...

Nice area. Used to shoot in the Park Hill area then he relocated to Rose. Still pretty sparce people wise. Personally the area east of Talihena towards Mena area is a place I wouldn't mind finding some dirt!

@diggler1833

Is Weyerhauser still a big deal down around Broken Bow?

Mike

Weyerhaeuser, Hancock and Georgia Pacific. I'm actually bordered on two sides by the Honobia WMA. It is comprised of 90K acres of land owned by those three companies.

It was 101K acres 5 years ago...but they've jumped on the selling bandwagon too.

Google Cloward-Piven. It was orginally the plan to massively increase spending on social programs to collapse the economy, then claim socialism was the only cure. This was just before the great society nonsense.
It obvious they've applied it to other areas, immigration, the justice system, corporal punishment, etc.

I've been working on remodeling my house... All of the original sheetrock was made by Dierks Forests, Inc...

Had to Google the company... they basically founded Broken Bow and owned millions of acres of forest land down your way and in Arkansas until they sold out to Weyerhauser in 1969.

One of those empires most folks have never heard of.

Anyway, I'll quit pestering you.

Metro Atlanta continues to move north, and we are trying to get away from it. Finishing out my career in Texas, then planning to move to rural Alabama.

Looking to be within an hour of major medical, and be able to visit a decent grocery store without having to pack a bag for an overnight stay.

The older I get, the less I like most people.

I retired and left "Atlanta" (actually Canton) - moved to rural middle GA. Loving it!

Correct. But socialism is the bait, not the goal.

Schwab, Soros, Gates, and the rest of the uber rich elite don't give a rat's ass about creating a socialist utopia... one where everyone is equal and they all get to be painters and poets.

They want a worldwide feudal system where they get to rule as god kings while the serfs eat bugs and live in cubicles in 15 minute cities...

But they're smart enough to know that nobody will voluntarily go for that... So they throw out the socialist angle to get all of the useful idiots to help them collapse the current systems.

Once it happens, all of the marxists will be the first ones loaded in boxcars... The ones who didn't already starve to death anyway. Because anyone who can do simple math knows that marxism has never worked, and never will.

If they manage to pull it off they'll make the caesars and the pharaohs look like amateurs.

Hell when I was up there in the late 70’s , Springdale had like 1% minorities.
Today I figure it’s at least 40% hispanics . No telling how many are there illegally ? Would not surprise me if its not over 60-70 %. now.
Now Driving up 71 N once you enter Springdale , it’s like your in fuckin downtown Tijuana. They followed the Tyson fowl up there then took it over.
Loved living in Fayetteville then , manageable traffic ,Dickson St was awesome. Small town feel , lots going on in its own way.
Just started school there a few months after getting out of the Navy , Fine round eyed women everywhere . Got more ass than a toilet seat 😜 Thought I was in Heaven. NWA is too big for me anymore. One big cluster fuck now !

edit: @nikonNUT !
You know what I’m talking about. Can you Believe in the mid 70’s , I would run from Johnson to the UA campus , shower in the men’s gym go to classes , get through with classes , run back to Johnson. Attempting to even think about running that route today crossing the By Pass would be suicidal.
