Very nice. Do you have a similar formula for 175 grain SMKs
I don’t. Was going too, but the bc on the jugs looks better on paper then that of the 175 smk. So went with the jugs instead. Though, I did snag a box of 169 smk. Which has the same bc as the 175 smk. Should be able to get the 169’s close to 2800. 26” barrel 1:10 and reloads really gets the 185’s going though. Some use MR 2000 to get it in the 2700 plus range with a 20” barrel.

I can't blame you for going with the jugs

Reunited with my old AXSR.

For those from before in the AX vs AW mags. Apparently I didn't do that to AW mags but I have plenty of aics mags I did it to. 2 modified AX mags next to a standard aics mag.

Ok, two question:

The first is a pretty obvious question, but wanted to confirm.

AT wanting to run a clip-on needs:
  1. AT Night Vision Bracket
  2. 20 MOA Night Vision Rail for the AT NV Bracket
  3. High AI pic rail for scope
  4. And here is the question: 1.5” rings, right?
I assume 1.5” because that’s what other rifles need for NV/thermals, but just wanted to check.

Second Q:
Anyone have pics of a 1.5” scope mount on an AT/AE/AW on the low rail? Preferably a Spuhr 4002, but I’ll take whatever.

I’m asking that b/c I’m not sure if I’d go with a clip-on or just a thermal scope. If I go the latter I just want a visual of how high the scope looks.

#bestriflesever

Screwed on some unknown round count $100 barrel in old man caliber.

Hornady is the king as usual. Shame they discontinued the steel match. My scar really likes it

I know. 3 shot groups. But I don’t have the skill / patience I used to

Oh no cherry picking except for excluding the 5 shoter I decided to go rapid fire on

AI AE Mk I, 20 MOA low rail, 20 MOA IMUNS, PST Gen II 5-25x50, Vortex extra high(1.54") rings, PVS-27. Not the best pic, but I could mock up a living room pick if you need it.

Yeah, just a side shot without the NV would work. Just seeing how high they look with that low rail. I like high rings (1.5” to 1.4”) but looks factor into it a bit more than usual as, well, it’s an AI. 😏

Heres a High action rail with 1.5" height spuhr.

1.35 to 1.5 if you want to be on the plane

What’s the difference between that and the high rail. If using a superior 1.3 centerline clip on ?

Nothing except that is the exception and not the norm... Just giving general advice on why they run a high rail and it's designed for a 1.5-1.35" scope mount to be on plane with what were the std night vision specs at the time.... You do you boo

Meh just swap the bolt head hit up mh no need to rework that
Turns out AI won't swap a bolt head, they want to just replace the whole bolt body (for $800 +). Looks like I also have a large firing pin despite the ad saying it was sfp.

I'm not overly upset given how little I paid for the rifle, but at this point I'm thinking I'll just have LRI clean up and bush the bolt, even if it won't be pretty.

Not sure what thread but a member asked about LRI about making bolts.

I said I’d buy one if every size asap.

My alerts on things I follow on the hide don’t always come through so there might be something going on.
