Haven't had time to try it out yet. I've been doing Chemotherapy Treatments for 2yrs and a couple of months, everything functions as should. Feeds rnds. cycling by hand and seems to eject them pretty good, I'm still debating on what scope to put on it. As soon as I get some time I'll take it out and run some down it and check function of it.

I would pay attention to your gas tube to gas key interface. At least in the past, Wilson places their rifle length gas port odd, halfway between Armalite AR-10 (15.5") and DPMS/AR-15 (15.125") length. They spec the longer gas tube, but some BCG gas keys will bottom out.

That's what happened on the first Wilson Combat Gas Tube, they gave a part number for the one that went with the Wilson Gas Block I ordered. I installed it and put the bolt in and it wouldn't mate up to the Bbl. Lugs, I scratched my head for awhile trying to figure out then noticed that the gas tube was more than half way in the cut out. The 2nd pic shows the bolt not matting up to the lugs with the Wilson Gas tube.

Pulled it out and measured it and sure enough it was long, did some research and got on line and went to White Oak and ordered two new ones, installed the White Oak Gas Tube that they recommend for that length of Bbl. and it worked the new Wilson Combat Nickel Boron Bolt that I bought with the parts made full engagement with the Bbl. 2nd pic shows full engagement of the bolt making full contact with the Bbl. Lugs

I ordered the longer gas tube from Fulton armory, WC was out of stock, and ordered the tool craft bolt so I guess it's a toss-up if I've got the right one , wilson specs the longer tube for the supersniper 20 inch barrel , but it sounds like I might need a standard length, might as well order one as they aren't that much.

Both of those gas tubes look to be the same length to me . In the pics anyway.

No they are different. I have the 18" Super Sniper 308cal Bbl. But under their listing for the Bbl. I bought listed the Gas Block, and the Gas Tube to go with it, but I had to order a different length Gas Tube cause the one they sent me was to long and bottomed out on the Bolt Gas Key.

The damage to that gas tube may be caused by vertical misalignment with the gas key. The offset of the gas tube required for a large frame is around 0.062" greater than a AR-15 when using mil-spec 0.750" low profile gas blocks. It may not seem like much of a difference, but can affect alignment. Almost all gas tubes are bent to the AR-15 spec, including those sold for AR-10/308. There are a number of exceptions to the above statement(s).

I don't know what damage your referring to, that's a brand new one that got coated in oil from were I oiled the rails.

It's grease, I've cleaned it completely and lightly oiled it up and put in the safe until I can function test it.

Finished my 1st LF AR 10 build today , Areo build kit , WC super sniper 20 inch barrel, wilson GasBlock ,Fulton armory gas tube & LPK , toolcraft BCG , presma CH ,Rise 1 SS 140 trigger , magpul moe stock & grip , dura mag mag , Vortex strike eagle 4x25 mrad scope , I'll take her to the range tomorrow for a test run , oh yeah 308 cal.

Hello,
Back story on mine is, originally bought mine in the early 2000's of an auction in new condition, kept it about 10 years, occasionally took to the range but not much. Along came a Smith Wesson Mountain Gun model 625 in 45 Long Colt. The guy that had it would not sell but only trade for my AR-10A2, So I regretfully traded and was sick over it a minute after the deal was done, but I had to have that Smith. Well it so happed that my local gun shop called me about a year later to tell me they just took my AR-10 it on trade and was giving me first chance at it. Needless to say I got it back and it will never again leave my safe. Best part of the whole story is when I bought it back I paid less then half of my original purchase price. :D

Very tasty Craddock Bartlein 22" Remington .260 barrel makes this Seekins SP10 Builder's Kit quite special. So do key components like JP FMOS bolt carrier group with Enhanced Bolt, SLR adjustable gas block, TriggerTech Diamond trigger breaking at 2.0 LB, and the right recoil system.

I have no experience with Mil surp 308. Anyone ever shot any of this stuff. Buddy gave me a bunch of this & I was hoping to use it for some practice in the AR 10. But this stuff has magnetic bullets?? Steel jacket maybe. Not sure I want to run this through my Proof barrel.

how do you like the Centurion Arms handguard?

I have heavy AR 10s so I decided to build a light weight one, but accurate if possible, in 308. This one is 6 lbs 3 oz no scope. And it does not have a pencil barrel but a heavier profile fluted 16" barrel, to keep rds on target. Carbon fiber hand guard, 1 oz titanium brake, Roam magnesium upper, titanium bolt carrier. To finish it off with a Leupold Mark 4 M3 3-10X mil dot with appropriate 30-06 180 gr elevation turrent to match trajectory and Warne 20 moa ultra light mount, for 1200 plus yds. Total weight, ready to hunt 7 and three quarters lbs. A delight to carry, feels like an AR 15. Already have some good high velocity loads, in the .5 to 1 moa 5 shot group range...will be testing other bullets, like the 169, & 177 SMK, & 168 gr eldm. The 168 gr Berger 2687 ave 11.4 S/D is very accurate shooting 5 shots half moa, the 150 gold dot 2813 ave 9.4 S/D 1 moa, as well as the 208 Eldm averaging 2442 fps 13.3 S/D fast for a 16" barrel 308. Got some fast velocities with 155 gr to 2900 fps ave but the accuracy was not there..lower or change powder for the 155 grainers, and recheck. Just another project to play with...
that's light by AR-15 standards! nice work

18" Criterion stainless 6.5 CM barrel in a SMF tactical upper receiver, URX4 handguard, Larue MBT-2s. Weight is 9.5 lbs but another 10 oz or so can be shaved with a lighter stock. I shot some 105 grains through it the other day and it was a blast. Very soft shooting, feels almost like an AR15.

How does it shoot. I've got a 20 inch ordered for a build that I just started , hope I choose a good barrel .
This 24" Bull will make you think anything sucks, Always go with a big profile as it makes the rifle that much more stable

Nice. Match or "Ultra Match" barrel? And how does it shoot?

it is the Match Barrel. with 103 ELDX factory loads its right at 1.5 for 5 at 200y. I have some hand loaded 75g Max's & they shoot just a tic under 1.5, but in the 3450 fps range. I can't complain with either load for deer or predators.

My first full .308 build.

- Aero Precision Builders kit w/ matching Magpul stock/grip
- Aero BCG, gas tube & adjustable gas block
- Faxon Duty Series 18", Big Gunner, .308
- Larue Trigger
- VG6 Gamma muzzle brake
- Primary Arms SLx 4-16x44 FFP Rifle Scope - Illuminated ACSS HUD DMR Reticle - Magpul bipod
- NY compliant mag lock (replaced pictured mag w/ 10 rnd)

Grouping at 100yds shown from initial zero

First time out it shot flawless and cycled great.

Recently took it to the range and had a bunch of FTF/failed cycles, don't think the bolt was going far enough back to pick up the next round - unfortunately i didn't bring the long Allen key to the range, going to go back again and run it wide open, see if that solves the issue. -

Edit: just was doing some digging on these forums and one issue I have is the charging handle runs into the cheek riser - apparently this happens if you use a Magpul PRS intended for a Ar15 with an AR10 platform.

Also read about an issue with the stock screw being too long (from a post from 2011, any idea if this issue was resolved?)

If you still have problems after you adjust the AGB, it might be best to start a new thread. Until then, check into your gas tube length and action system.

Well I got the itch for another large frame AR, I've been putting this Zev together for awhile and in the mean time came across this sweet LMT for sale. I just had to have both. I was going to make the Zev a .308 and have the barrel dimple fluted by Marvin Pitts. While I was waiting to receive that barrel from Marvin, I bought the LMT .308. So I decided to put this Criterion 16 inch 6.5 Creedmoor barrel in the Zev and use the dimpled .308 barrel for the LMT and get rid of the factory LMT barrel. Just waiting to get the dimple barrel back from D. Wilson. I can't wait to have them both finished and head to the range.

The Zev build is cerakote H-250 to match the B5 Coyote brown.

My last summers "blue light special" build (found all parts on sale over a few months). After fighting the Faxon barrel I had for way too long, gas block machined in wrong spot, breach not machined right, sent that back and went with Black Hole Weaponry barrel, my test and sight in it operated flawlessly.
-308
-Aero M5 upper and lower set. (aero parts kits)
-Barrel - Black Hole Weaponry 18" SS rifle length gas system
-Rubber City Armory BCG
-Larue MBT 2-stage
-Buffer - Armaspec stealth BB 5.7oz Gen 4
-Gas Block - Riflespeed adjustable & tube (its beyond awesome)
-Charge handle - Firehog Mod-Gem4 ambi charging handle with gas exhaust (All they had was blue, and it was only $20.)
-Muzzle brake - Strikes Jcomp gen 2 compensator
-Optic - Vortex Strike Eagle 3-18x44
-AIM Sport hand guard, Magpul STR stock, Magpul K2+ grip,
-Weighs 11lbs , 15oz w/o mag.
