I was mentioned in Meat Eater Magazine in reference to the Lilja barrel I chambered for the author. I thought it was pretty cool.

Yes, Rinella sold out to the enemy, Meat Eater is owned by The Chernin Group. Not a company I'll ever support in the hunting industry. They also own Firstlite clothing.

Isn't the guy running this known for being a lefty?
I know all of us right-handed shooters look down on southpaws, but I don't really think of myself as being superior... (good to know)

    They also own Firstlite clothing.
Politics aside, after 2 seasons with this stuff, I can tell you it's not great. The stuff I have is pretty well thought out (they just copy designs from Kuiu, Sitka, etc.), but some of the materials used are cheap and super frail.

Almost without exception, those looking to make a living off wildlife are detrimental to wildlife and often to conservative values as well.
I avoid supporting any of them.
    You speak the truth sir.
I wish more people realized this.

Good for you. I lost all respect for Rinella when he sold out to Chernin. Fuck him, he can eat a bag of dicks. But good for you.

I was unaware of any political opinions or beliefs subscribed to by the ownership of Meat Eater. I think I quit watching hunting shows over 20 years ago and stopped reading "Gun Magazines" around the same time; they're just commercials guised as informative content.

I've been to shows like Safari Club International and Dallas Safari Club and have seen the "Fan Boy" mentality grown men have for these characters and publications; it's quite pathetic in my opinion. I find it almost as off putting as calling a millionaire who plays a game for a living a "Hero".

However, the author was a very polite gentleman and paid for my services; he didn't even ask or imply I should donate my services. I didn't expect to be mentioned in the article. I was satisfied to see the barrel shot well for him; as I am with all my customers.

Right on. I didn't mean to stir up trouble, just advise and ask since I hadn't heard good things pertaining to him/his outfit.

Not often do you see recognition where it is due. Worth taking pride in to be sure.

Look what you did Chase, turned a magazine article in a left wing hating anti Rinella fest! Lol
I know, it's absolutely hilarious. I didn't know all these things and never guessed it would go in this direction. I expected some opinions on components and ammo used in the article or even a question or two. No sir...not here.

Take it for what it's worth.
I only bring it up because the majority of who idolize the "Meat Eater" group don't realize that the hard earned dollars they spend on product from Chernin aka "Meat Eater", "First Lite", "FHF", "Barstool Outdoors", "Phelps Game calls" and "Dave Smith Decoys" is turned around and used to actively take away the very rights that we cherish.

I just can't fathom supporting a company that markets and makes millions off of customers that love guns, hunting, traditional values, and the outdoors and turns around and gives that money(hundreds of thousands of dollars) to the very people that hate what we love and want our constitutional rights taken away.

I did not know this and appreciate the knowledge. This thread was educational, glad I opened it up. Those brands are now on my no-go list.

I didn't know the background either and because of the insight, I'll avoid spending any money with them.

But as for the intent of the original post. Awesome for you Chase, and hopefully it gets you more business and the recognition you deserve for your work

Sounds exactly like how our tax dollars are used.
