Has anyone tried to purchase from this place and been scammed? Please let me know.

Grammar and spelling errors everywhere. Multiple blocks of default text from whatever website template they're using. The "About Us" page is copied word-for-word, including the name, from Impact Guns. PayPal/crypto only.

If you couldn't figure out it was a scam, you should stick to in-person purchases in the future.

Just sent a link for that site to impact guns lulz....

My browser gave me the big warno page so I didn’t even let it finish loading. Seems legit enough so far

If it's in stock and at decent prices, it's a scam.

I found this site and thought I found the motherlode. Glad I didn't buy anything. As soon as I Googled them, all the "scam" reviews popped up.
Isn’t it amazing what one google search shows? Instead these people come here.

I get if you’ve searched and can’t find anything, but they can’t be bothered and want to do more work for everyone else to do it for them

Been on over a year and has 3 posts

No shit...the tells for these scam sites are very well documented in many threads on the Hide and frankly should be apparent even to a total, drooling, cretin.

It amazes me that people still come here and ask "is this complete POS site that totally matches all kn own characteristics of an utter scam site really an ok vendor because I really, really, really want to buy unobtainium at less than its selling anywhere else in the entire world so..."

I've noticed some of these scam sites offering ApplePay as a payment option. This is a very secure way to make a payment as a consumer, so I'm wondering how they get around that. I'm assuming they close and change accounts, where the payment is sent, before Apple can get the money back. Nothing new, many legitimate business' do this to protect themselves against large chargebacks. By "legitimate" I mean actual brick and mortar business that's not fly by night. I won't comment on their practices except that it usually requires some help from the banker to change account numbers often. IOW, on the take as well.

Impact replied to me that they were aware of the situation and had " informed the appropriate department " whatever that means.

At this point, and with all the common "symptoms" provided about a gazillion times ... I just don't get why people still can't figure out scams like this without forum help. It's like ... "Hey, my gun won't shoot unless I pull the trigger - is there something wrong with it?" ... If you can't figure that one out on your own, maybe you need an easier hobby. I'm just sayin' ...

People are too trusting in general.

Really, you think it's a scam? You joined to warn us? Gosh, thanks.

So I am the owner of Mockingbird Precision. I have recently started getting messages and phone calls related to these scumbags...they have now updated their address to my physical address and place of business...what are my options here?

Try reporting here, their registrar contact..
email
@namesilo.com
also try reporting it to google as a scam website so it gets delisted/deranked.
Also try reporting to several reputation websites..
Just google "scam website" and several should popup you can report it to.

Not to offend any of the legitimate on-line sites, but this is kinda comical in at least one way. At 60 years old, I can recall the day when all guns, ammo, clothing , reloading was conducted at the LGS. Sometimes over nothing more than a handshake for certain items.
Then, along came the porn laden info net. We all, including me, thought….f dat mfr and his $5 box 130 gr lead tip bullets. I’m buyin that shit from -insert-(whatever online seller you like) for $2.50 a box and free shipping and a swag bottle opener and a 23 tool multitool for free with the order.
And it worked for awhile. And we liked it. And we got used to it. And like everything else….our greed and cheapness overtook us. Not being TOTALY negative, saving some $$ is not a bad thing.
Now, it seams, that the pendulum could be going back the other way. Scams left and right. Websites with free buy and sell (this one included) permeated with shitbag scammers. A big shout out to Frank and mods for trying to keep us all safe!

Getting to the point where the only safe place to spend money on shit is face to face at the LGS!
And of course our trusted safe online sellers.

Like many here say….Caveat Emptor!

The website lists 2 phone numbers. I called both. One was never answered, and the other was picked up with a machine that stated in a real Bubba voice, "Your call did not go through please call again later." After this message was repeated twice the call disconnected. I'm shocked.
