Best deal now for a new G3 is to either get the black Euro optic exclusive model, or you can save a couple hundred more by buying a 30% off cert from the PX for about $90 and use that on the standard model... Provided the $2999 street price holds, that means you can get it for $2099 plus whatever you paid for the 30% coupon.
Seems weird how vortex is handling this, but maybe a lot of people were abusing the le/vet/mil discount program and this is how they're putting a stop to it.

I don’t have enough fingers to count the number of friends that have offered to buy shit for me at a discounted price, be it mil, leo/first responder, guiding, or whatever. No doubt people are abusing it.
I thought certs were based on MSRP? Are they based on retail price now?
They went beyond that. Mil/LE price now is only $120 less than MAP which is crazy. There’s plenty of dealers that will give you a better deal than that just by calling.
The Euro Optic certs are 30% off MAP price through Euro Optic only.
Correct, but they don't apply to the Euro exclusive black model.
Le/mil/vet still get a slight discount on the black model though, but it costs more than 30% off map with a certificate on the regular model.
Unfortunately, too many people have blabbed about the price they paid and decided to announce it everywhere, I've said in the past that if it continues to happen then discounts by manufacturers will decrease or get shut off completely. Some people need to stop pretending they are "The cool guy" and just be happy if they got a great deal. Move in silence and enjoy your benefits when they happen.

The last three G3 Razors I personally purchased came from Exspirt Voice which does not require any Mil or first responders background and as many have already stated there are several companies who offer direct discount pricing to people from all walks of life at the same rate that you as a "poor" have access to, so don't bring your pity bullshit comments on here labeling Active and retired Veterans as Entitled! Just because you never had the sack to do something something greater with your own self absorbed life.
I don't charge Snipershide Members that are Vets anything for my services, they send me a box of parts and I build them what they want without expecting anything in return, but that's my way of giving back.
MIL/LEO and first responders pricing is a courtesy that many Vendors offer and is by no means a right!, but labeling Vets as entitled for highlighting changes in current programs is bullshit and if you could take a second to do your own due diligence and spit that pity dick out of your mouth you'd find out that there are several avenues for civilians to get the same pricing if not better.

I have been looking at these also, the PR3 reticle looked really good. I thought the turrets would be similar/same as the Mark 5HD? I know they don’t have the same rev indicator. But what was major drawback you saw?
See I feel like only vortex shooters are running a gen 3 or a vortex in general for that matter I don’t see many of them

Sponsorships, and monkey-see/monkey-do mentality... Other than that, there's no reason it should be that disproportionate. They're honestly not that impressive of a scope for the price.

There "used" to be a whole lot more kahles shooters out there. Not today homey.
I know one dude who is an amazing shooter who runs them (He is sponsored), and another dude who is a very good shooter/MD (He posts here often) who runs them. They are really the only two I can think off the top of my head at matches.
Its like Bushnell. They used to be super popular too, when people cared what TEAM GAP shot and the market was much smaller/different. Virtually everyone I know who was shooting Kahles when I started competing 3 years ago, has switched to something else. Many of them due to issues with Kahles.
They are not super common at matches. I see more Burris XTR's or S&B's on the line, and they are not very popular. I would get outside of the K&M Sphere of influence, very few.
Leupold, Vortex, NF, ZCO and TT is like 95% of the optics at 2 day matches. 1 days are littered with casuals and just as many arkens and apex as kahles. Most old legacy optics, probably older shooters who dont switch gear much.
Vortex isn't the only one, Burris clearly increased effective prices in the last 2-3 weeks. Used to be you could get a XTR III for $925 and the XTR Pro in the $1450 range if you shopped around. Now all those same stores are running $1250 for the XTR III and $1950 more for the XTR Pro. Basically a 30% increase to effective street pricing.

I've been eyeballing a couple of scopes at EO for awhile, this past week the prices shot up. Everything is going up.
I already have a black R3 on my Vudoo and just bought another a few days ago for a rifle I'll be getting in a few months. I initially bought an ATACR 5-25x56 since there were like-new demo models for $2400 but ended up cancelling that and just getting another black R3. The step-down in optical quality for a bit of extra durability just wasn't worth it for the rifle I'm getting.
