New to the rimfire game.
IF, I decide to go with a CZ 457, I’d like to know who offers the best drop in barrels. (I’m aware that Bartelin has the best barrels) but, they don’t offer a drop in for the 457.
I’ve seen Ilija, Lothar, Acculite, and Proof, all offer drop ins.
I’m aware that Proof and Ilija are probably the best of this bunch.
Anyone have experience with the other brands?

Play it safe...Lilja and Proof make great drop ins for the CZ's. I've had several of each. There should be enough threads here on this subject, and myself and another gentleman, have posted results from testing.

I had a Lilja on my old 455. It shot ok. Definitely better than my factory barrel by a lot. But not as good as the vudoo I bought. Sold that barrel and now use it as a 17hmr with a Walther barrel. Im super happy with the walther. Shoots great.

Any way you can send me a link to those results?

I don’t remember the exact threads, but look up

He did a few better than I did.

I put an IBI barrel on mine over the winter, haven't had a chance to get out and shoot it yet though.

I'm having very good results with CZ 457 Lilja drop-in .900'x21' straight cylinder barrels. Been using them to shoot in our local ARA Unlimited matches. Out of 4 barrels....this is probably the worst one.

Here are some of my results from one of our matches.

Target #1......1900 3X's
Target #2......1810 7X's
Target #3......1785 8X's
Target #4......1850 5X's

Before you go purchase a new drop in barrel, give the factory barrel a chance and see what it does. Some of the factory CZ barrels shoot really well.

+1, my other 457 has their match chamber and it shoots damn nice.

This is a great point. I have a CZ457 MTR that shoots great I really don’t see how much more a pre fit would do. Plus the MTR barrel loves cheap Norma tac 22 so that’s a big plus.

They are but they go out of stock quickly due to demand. Like @J_D said, try calling them. They often have blank to spin up or can do a custom order. Depending on the size you want and budget there are also some really nice options from Modacam for Krieger and Mullerworks barrels. Also hard to get your hands on but you can pre-order if you call (IIRC).

I have a straight .900 at 22in in my MTR and am very happy with it. I have a Vision chassis on order so I am anxious to see how it shoot in a true chassis. I may end up ordering a 24 in 1.200 straight down the road.

The IBI barrel is also very nice. Mine printed a dime sized 10 shot group at 50 yards with boring consistency.

I won the PRS NW Regional Rimfire championship with that rifle.
