    This is a really cool product. They brought some to the US this fall and stopped by 419 to show it to us and shoot some video (will likely release in the next week or two, waiting on an actual production unit to add some needed footage, should have soon).

    The thing that sets this apart from anything we know on the market is - somewhat obviously - the electronics. They went all the way with integrating features and hardware that give you access to more information, using a simpler interface, and it looks/feels like a real electronic, not simply a bino with a LRF in it.

    When we spent a while fingering it and talking through features, they asked us what we thought the price was going to be, and every one of us missed high by at least a thousand bucks. At under $3k this thing is dynamite.

    Not yet had them in hand, but I'm hoping to get them here to test on the ELR targets. The 905nm laser should be easier to collimate to a small box, but reflectivity may be an issue in full sunlight. Note the drop from max range to that on a deer target. It's also a +/- for NV use. I don't know that they have a NV capable display, and the beam would be visible in NVGs. Easy for me to see what it's covering and it's relationship to the reticle.

    First Impressions these are amazing products, every ask for a set of binoculars / rangefinders is in there.
    But can we trust their promises of service and support this time?

    Seems reasonable. If the glass is comparable to the Geovid it’ll be a success
     
    The binoculars look and feel amazing! Had a chance to play around with them a few months ago, we think they are going to perform awesome.

    The RRS Vector-X Mount will be available upon release of the binoculars to the public, through Vectronix Distributors.

    The "Vector-X Mount" was made specifically for/in conjunction with Vectronix for the tripod designed mounting ports. Includes a tension knob to remove cant caused by adjusting the Pupillary distance.

    I’d like to know the divergence compared to the Steiner 1535nm bino. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a published number for the Steiner.
     
    I'm on the list to get one for testing. I expect these to be a 90% solution, but they will not replace the standard Vector 21 for those that need an XLR rangefinder system. Given that you need about 50% of the beam on target for a reliable range, at 2000m the beam will be 3.2m wide, meaning you need a target of 1.8M (5.9') wide. If you are looking for precise positions, the +/- 5 degrees will lead to a 175m potential error at 2000m. I don't see where the tripod mount uses brass screws and is amagnetic, so that won't help. Absent the Vectronix tripod, I've got to do some extensive modifications to the Manfrotto tripod systems I use to get good position data. I don't see that the display has a NV mode, which seems unfortunate. It i 905nm though, so if you tripod mount it and slave it to an observation device you can see the beam on target and have the data sent to a NV readable system.

    These should be pretty much perfect for most long range shooters. You can range most shootable targets within 1500, get solutions with your preferred solver and do most spotting work with these. The price is outstanding for the capability.

    Sir- can you expand on how you calculate beamwidth at a certain distance using the known beam divergence info?

    Same as any angular to linear conversion. For example, 1mil = 3.6" @ 100yds and 36" @ 1k yds.

    If a beam is 1.5 x 0.1 mil that would mean 5.4 x 0.36" @ 100yds and 54 x 3.6" @ 1k yds. And you can use ft, yds, m, etc.

    Here you go. Might be the phone's camera interacting with the type of lights in the facility.

    I was never bothered by my Vortex Fury's hue, but everyone's different.

    It will be interesting comparison to Sig 10K when it comes to ranging capabilities. It has same laser beam.
