Maggie’s What are you drinking right now!?

Well, decided to go with a recommendation a page or so back, and try my go-to cocktail of choice lately (dirty mexican) with pickle juice instead of olive brine:

surprisingly, not bad at all.

Still prefer the olive brine for my palate though.

I just finished a Wild Turkey MK Unforgotten, Old Fitz and Nelson Bros Black Briar samples. The WT MK was probably my fav but all were really good. I’ve not had any of them. Thanks for the samples 🍻

Decided to crack this and see what it’s all about. I want to send a buddy a sample so figured I better get it open.
Definitely many levels up from the 15 yr they’re hawking n the ABC store on the reg. Heavy wood but otherwise delicious and complex. Lower proof and easy neat. Unclear how you label 46% “cask strength” but I call bullshit on that.

How was it?

Finally cracked it to share with a friend I’ve never met in person 🍻
It’s delicious and drinks smooth as silk. It’s crazy. Lots of cinnamon and sweetness.

Well guys, PLEASE have a Pour this weekend for my Grandfather. He passed on 3/6 at the age of 83. He was born in Lithuania in 1940. The Russians took their farm around 1944 so they went west. After the war ended they found refuge in a Displaced Persons Camp in Bad Worishofen Germany. They were sponsored to the states around 1948. It was a hard few years but they made a life of it. He was Drafted in 1965 and served in Vietnam from September 10, 1965 to August 21, 1967. He served under the 6/27th Feild Artillery on the 8" howitzer's and 175mm Long range. He was under both A-Btry & B-Btry. He NEVER talked about it, but he was in some shit at times.

Cheer's to Eugene Aristidas Karosas.

At the local NWTF banquet. Kirkland brand Irish Whiskey. Limiting myself to one since I’m a volunteer/committee.

Rented a condo in the mountains for the weekend and ordered the best bbq in CO. Also decided to pair it with something stout-y. Much recommend

I really like them, also have a 10yr rye at 120 proof. I like the rye slightly better but I seem to like higher proof anyways. I am starting to appreciate the 100ish stuff more and more thou.

I think most people either like Willett or it’s just not their jam.

I really enjoyed their 4 year rye I believe it was 104. I find myself liking the 100+ proof as well. The 8 year I have coming was bottled at 126.8.
