Finally got my Christmas Solus all put together in the red anodized chassis they were offering. 22” 6.5 manbun. Shoots 130hybrids into less than 1/2”. Not bad for a cheapy set up. 450-ish for the chassis and 700-ish for the barreled action. Shoulda bought more. Won’t make that mistake again if they get crazy with the deals.

Arm or ally has them STUPID cheap right now. Actions are like $450

What's the verdict on the Solus action?
It's pretty much the only somewhat affordable custom platform here in Norway.
I am planning on buying another one and making a lighter hunting rifle. I would recommend it. But I have never used a high end action. I hope to run it at a couple classes this year, and maybe a PRS match. I’m sure it will shoot better than what I can do.

I hope it's precise but haven't shot it yet. A Tikka T3x CTR I bought quite a while ago with the intention of building it up a bit. Then life got in the way and it sat in factory form never getting used for a couple years. I finally have the time and money to do something with it so bought my parts and put it together.

Tikka CTR in 6.5 manbun, MDT ACC elite, internal weight, ZCO 5-27, ARC MBRACE, Area 419 brake, Atlas bipod. Weighs 19.6 lbs as it sits.

Here is our family of rifles. We're new to long range shooting, but we're loving the process of learning. A lot of great info and gear deals on this site. Most of my wife's build came from this forum.

Top is my wife's 6.5 PRC Bergara carbon barreled action in a MDT elite chassis. Vortex Gen III Razor 3-36 on a Nightforce Extreme rail, TriggerTech Diamond and a TiN coated Area 419 brake.

Middle is my .300 Win Mag Bergara MG Lite Premier carbon barreled action in the XLR chassis. Vortex Gen III Razor 3-36 on a Nightforce Extreme rail, TriggerTech Diamond and a Bergara brake.

Bottom is my son's 6.5 Creedmoor Bergara BMP rifle. TriggerTech Primary, Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25 and an Area 419 brake

My new stick. 6.5 Creedmoor Howa barreled action from Brownell's. MDT XRS chassis, Burrix XTR II 5-25. Pretty basic build compared to much here, but I'm enjoying it. Only put a total of 20 round down range, all barrel break-in, so cleaning after each one. Doesn't help that the shooter hasn't put a round down range in several years, and it was a windy, gusty day. Looking to see what it can really do on a calm day, then stretch her legs a bit.

Your brake seems to be mounted upside down.
Not a fan of brakes designed to combat muzzle rise, as they can make the gun jump with a bipod.

Hennig give use the run down on your build.

- Manners T4 Folder, with A419 Arca rail - modified ejection port to suit the…
- LP Fuzion
- TT Special Curved (I run straight on everything normally, but curved on my T4s and TCS)
- Schmidt and Bender 5-20 Ultra Short in Badger Max-50 rings
- Bartlein 1:8 M24 blank should be here next week, then it’s off to get chambered in 6.5x47 at 18-20” (still pondering).

Good pickup, thanks. Looks like I'll have to mess with some crush washers and see if I can time it properly. May go ahead and pick up a different one, I happened to have this Seekins one on hand.

Just picked up my dream rifle. Wanted it since I was 10 or so when I first played Hitman Blood Money. 15 years later, my dream showed up in Idaho Falls,ID.
Sako TRG-42 under Beretta Corp. 1:10 twist 338 Lapua with pic rail (getting rid of once I get the Spuhr dovetail mount in), factory bipod and MB is coming along with KRGs set up with NvG rail for my Atlas 5H.

Dan Quayle approves.

just trying to get my foot in the door with bolt action guns, decided to pick up a Solus when they had their Christmas sale toward the end of the year, so far I like it and the more I shot it the better it seems to be getting. Threw the MDT Ckye-pod and a NF ATACR 7-35x56 on it and went shooting. Looking to add the APA Gen 3 little bastard brake to it here soon.

Front is defiance ruckus with a 20” proof 308, manners lrh stock, bix&andy prosport 2 stage, area 419 muzzle brake and arca rail, and mdt ckyepod. Running a vector continental 3-18, complete rifle is 9lbs 6oz

Furthest away is a lone peak fuzion with a 26” hawk hill 6gt barrel, trigger tech diamond 2 stage, manners prs2, area 419 brake, harris bipod, topped with a zco 4-20
Nice! Is the continental tracking ok? Considering that one for a 556 dmr.

Sitting at 600 yards yesterday getting some practice with a new rifle. Aero solus in a Cadex lite competition chassis, TT diamond 2 stage, cheap Arken that will be upgraded eventually. Terrible lighting to show off the OD green color.
Is that Manatee? I’ve been meaning to take a trip up there

What height rings are those?
They are the NF low rings .885"

I had MDT low rings but they were a bit lower and the scope actually hit.

Id go with the 1" ones though as it'll allow a little more movement in the scope for mounting. with these there's basically only once position you can put the scope in.

The bench rest range is 600, but the 1000 yard range died like 5 years ago. ROs are solid in my experience though. Maybe I’ll see you up there soon

Thank you. I ended up ordering the Gray Ops scope mount at 1.125” high. I have the same scope and chassis so thought I would ask for reference.

Actually the 1000 yards has been open for a few months now. Qualification is 5 shots on an 8 inch plate at the 629 yard berm, and then a 6th follow up shot on a 600 yard target they placed next to the 1000 yards targets. They have hit markers as well at 1000

Oh nice! News to me. I know they were trying to get it back up and running for a long time so it’s good to see they succeeded.

Nice. Is this your side-chick on your AI? Or did you dump the AI for this?

I really like my Bravo Gen 2.

And what caliber and barrel contour? (If keeping with the above theme, how big are her tits? Lol)
The AI is still here, just cheating on her a little bit. (I’ll never get rid of it lol)

No Gen 2 I’m probably gonna get the Vision handguard for it soon. Altus hooked me up and modded the Bravo for the impact trigger hanger.

It’s a 6 Creed with a Proof Comp Contour lol. She’s a EE cup.

That Solus has definitely taken inspiration from the CDG and Sako/Tikka before that. I'd buy one if I needed another.
With the advances and availability of machining and rifle engineering, imo the days of 4k+ rifles are past. Thats not to say ppl wont pay it, at least for a while. But now most anyone can put together a .5 moa rifle for under 2k. Any more is mostly for prestige, and/or something very special.

Here's the rifle I had you all help me build and had my local gunsmith put together.

52758553693_645a549df0_k.jpg

28" Proof Stainless Steel Barrel with a Thunder Beast brake on it (want a suppressor someday...)
M24 profile with 1/7.5 twist rate (didn't see that when I bought the barrel - lol)
Atlast Bipod w/appropriate pic rail for mounting
MDT XLR in brown (because they didn't have black)
Zermatt Origin SA in 6.5mm Manbun
TriggerTech Special trigger
Vortex Razor HD 6-36 w/ Vortex rings
MDT .308 10rd magazine

I have the Mossberg MVP in 5.56 in the MDT chassis as well. All three groups pictured below were shot with old IMI 55 grain soft point ammunition.

Two things made those groups possible. The first was adding the suppressor. The second thing I did was take a file to the feed ramp.

The dumbest thing that Mossberg ever did with this rifle was use a single feed ramp on a rifle that will take AR-15 magazines that feed rounds from both sides.

So I took a file (and my time) and modified the feed ramp to emulate an AR-15 feed ramp. Then voilà, the bolt stopped binding and the bullet tips didn't get buggered up on their way to the chamber.

I'm thinking about getting a Timney trigger for this rifle but with those groups, I doubt that I really need
My MVP LR. Also in 5.56NATO. It and I are a 'work in progress'.
